Although the trade off is power consumption as newer gen cpus in the mobile market are more geared to battery life than the ivybridge 3rd gen. IMHO I would look for the bigger brother of this device the Elitebook 8560w (2nd gen i-series) or 8570w (3rd gen i-series). They support MXM 3.0a swappable GPUs (Nvidia/AMD) and up to 32gb Ram.
