Excellent video and was always wondering why there was so much play in the steering wheel. When we purchased our Cub Cadet XT1 42" at The Home Depot, the steering wheel had a little play in it, which I thought was strange. The failed part is called a "hex bushing". Relaced mine and works great! So, Cab Cadet has a premature failure occurring on a part before units ever get to the retailer or into the field?? Maybe a brand for me to avoid in the future! Thank you for sharing your excellent video!

Just the steering wheel itself on my LT1046 is loose, not sloppy steering. Is this the solution? Thanks.

Seems it keeps the sprocket thing from rubbing on the frame and possibly catching. Just know it was there when I took it off so should put it back.

I had this problem with my Murray, the hole in the deck was wallowed out. Crappy steering design imo.
