Excellent video and was always wondering why there was so much play in the steering wheel. When we purchased our Cub Cadet XT1 42" at The Home Depot, the steering wheel had a little play in it, which I thought was strange. The failed part is called a "hex bushing". Relaced mine and works great! So, Cab Cadet has a premature failure occurring on a part before units ever get to the retailer or into the field?? Maybe a brand for me to avoid in the future! Thank you for sharing your excellent video!
U fixed my mud mower thanks man

Great video,good camera &lighting
You can remove fender on starter side and put piece in .
Great , thank you for the video.
I found a easier way to do it..take out the fuel tank by the engine snd you have tons of space..appreciate your video
Just the steering wheel itself on my LT1046 is loose, not sloppy steering. Is this the solution? Thanks.
Thank you
They make two different thickness of that bushings
OMG THANKKKKS!!!
What's the easiest way to find the part numbers?
What if they put a bearing there
I'm changing this part again at 678 hours.second time.ltx 1050
You notice that the replacement part is about half the thickness of the original?
Yup, it's the wrong part.
What size is that nut on end of the shaft?
11/16th
why do u need a washer on the bottom part if u have replace the broken steering shaft washer?
Seems it keeps the sprocket thing from rubbing on the frame and possibly catching. Just know it was there when I took it off so should put it back.
Steering Sector bolts or part are also worn and should be replaced
I had this problem with my Murray, the hole in the deck was wallowed out. Crappy steering design imo.
Most of them are...sad really. 3,000 bucks for a crappy system...smh.
I AllWAYS drop deck😊
just ordered parts for the same job...
