  • To stop the flip roll release in our golf swing it helps to have an understanding of low point and the dynamic loft of the golf club. Here we have a few drills for you to try out to help influence that and start to take control of your golf swing.

    Had my lesson with Marcus last week. He did all these drills with me it was an absolute mind blowing game changer in how to swing a club and play a golf shot. The toe divot drill is the the first time I’ve ever experienced a proper release. The hop and swing completely changed my understanding of timing. I’m working through my lesson video systematically, he’s given me the “toolbox” . I’ve never enjoyed range sessions so much, as Marcus says “ It’s the playground “.

    The kettlebell as prescribed by Dr Kwon gives the best feedback for the correct weight transition. Until I used one, the method didn’t sink in one try and naturally your weight shifts to the correct foot. Between you and Kwon the methods are darn near identical, just different styles of explaining the technique. Pure magic for a student to learn from watching videos and trying to capture the essence of the teachers lesson. How I love this game.

However, I’ve persevered and am now hitting it straighter than I have for a long time, lower ball flight, still a few more thins than I’d like but am trusting the process and will stick with it 👍

    Love this topic. If you could please clarify, from @4:50 you show 3 supposedly different movements. 1st is the no forearm "flip", 2nd the "noisy" one that requires a lot of practise (forearms turn over). However the 3rd that is your ideal, looks exactly like the 2nd.

    I am so jealous of Americans having so many grass driving ranges at their disposal. My club here in England has a practice paddock but it's so close to the course itself and having to retrieve your own balls is time consuming (time isn't something I have a great deal of with an 8 month old!)
    All of the driving ranges around me are standard mat ranges and you just don't get the divot feedback this is so important (as per this video).

    • @grumpyoldgit8254
      @grumpyoldgit8254 2 года назад +1

      The face should look slightly closed at set up, leaning the shaft then squares the face up (reopens), which explains why when watching the pros, their club faces always looked closed at set up on the down the line vids. IMHO

    This closed face set up also allows for extreme pulls (when one never practices ) and can lead to the treaded parking lot shot . Then extreme guilt and worry set in ,leading to the tension filled extremities. Of course this leads to shanks thus returning said golfer back to the life of the flipper . One must know when to stay in ones lane
