Just beautiful! Maria is so graceful and Julien did so well even without the page turner.
Schubert's Fantasy, the winter sunlight shining through a dark tempest, joy and pain.
Truly great music...sublime

The Fazioli sound appears better than the recording, however, which is quite murky and distant.
Fazioli is the only grand piano brand which is not ashamed of producing strident sound at fortissimos. most brands (Kawaii, Yamaha, Steinway) would valuate that as a very negative feature for a pianoforte, the instrument which had the romantic aesthetical conception if a rounded sound, contrary to that of a crispy and clear fortepiano from classicism. for decades, Yamaha suffered from being a bright instrument with little ressonance, not considerable adequate for classical repertoire. it really impress me that Fazioli could do an aggressive marketing and now stablished itself in the classical music repertoire even brighter and drier pianos.
The music world has become biased and monopolized view on a “Warm, deep” sound which has become achingly cliché. Besides Fazioli, consider Saüter, Seiler, Mason & Hamlin, Bechstein. Do you think Fazioli sounds dry @ all?
@@hastensavoir7782 Mason&Hamlin sounds quite like a Steinway.
I find Fazioli extremely dry. I'm not against different types of timbre, the thing is that Fazioli made marketing as "the best piano of the world", when in fact it has quite a lot of limitations. Hamburg Steinway remains the most versatile of all pianos. Yet, Steinway can sound dry and weak when needed, but other brands can't sound warm, big and colorful. The difficulty about making a piano is how to make it sound warm, well controlled, big sound when needed/asked to, potent not strident, with great projection, smooth attack of notes, with a lot of ressonance without noise (it is what non-pianists call "clarity"... the lack of resonance of Fazioli and other brands). this is what diferentiates a pianoforte from a fortepiano. This is what makes Chopin's music different from that of Mozart or Beethoven.
@@LuisKolodin I don’t get the hate for Brilliant tone Pianos. I really DON’T. I saw the Chopin Competition videos with Fazioli and Steinway in it. I liked the Fazioli crystalline attack better. The Bass not muddy like Steinway which is apparent in such pieces as Heroic polonaise and Liszt/Wagner Isolde’s Liebestod. Steinway design has remain unchanged and stagnant for like 60 yrs. It needs to Evolve that Bass problem.
@@hastensavoir7782 smooth bass is a must that almost no piano brand can make. maybe Mason&Hamlin makes. what you call clarity, I call weak timbre, with no color. a Fazioli bass is never warm, what makes it a piano with some limitations in repertoire. being warm, with smooth attack, powerful not strident, controlled with great projection is the MUST for a great piano. it is difficult to achieve all of them, something Fazioli cleared hasn't reachead. one can play Steinway in a cristalline way if needed, but several other brands simply can't blend the notes to create effects, color and character, according to the desire of the pianist.
@@LuisKolodin @ this point you’re already hating. Fazioli bass is undoubtedly Warm and Rich. Listen to Trifonov’s Barcarolle. Even the Andante Spianato. Steinway Bass is MUDDY. Its treble is Lackluster. Something it has not resolved for the past 60 yrs. I love the strident quality of Fazioli. Steinway being too soft and mellow has become boring to my ears. It is what it is.
Благодарю за внимание ❤❤❤
ㄹㅇ 좋다..
Such a stark difference of the depth of sound production between Maria and the other pianist. ❤️
Comments such as this are the reason why many aspiring pianists quit playing.
Schubert's agony.. even when it's major it's so painful..
❤️
In an interview I heard her say she had to take octaves at the very edge of the keys. I see that here
😅❤❤❤❤❤
Where was it ?
At Fazioli Concert Hall (Sacile, Italy)
You, gentle Heart of Schubert❤
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏❤
Its warmness to embrace all over me
նաայս !
Belle version, mais l’accord du piano est pour le moins curieux.
Stai scambiando l accordatura con il tipo di piano probabilmente...segno che non hai capito molto ne' del piano ne' di maria joao pires ne' dell autore
if you need sheet music, you're not a concert pianist, Jussen Brothers have never used sheet music in a concert, and many others
lol
Unfortunately, this piano is not a good one especially its right side, where Mme Pires is playing,
Give your reasons for this appreciation. Thanks in advance.
How do you say the instrument is not good?
it is not good, it is a marvelous grand piano !! The sound is superb.
