I feel like a broken record here, but, once again, very pretty. My grandfather loved the colors green and red so I couldn't help but be reminded of him while watching this video.
I wholeheartedly agree. The shiny finish makes the item look classy. I’m not sure who would use these beautiful items for anything other than display! These are masterpieces, one of a kind art piece! Great job on the gorgeous pieces! Bravo!
Jim, i've been absoulutely intrigued by your video's and i'm so inspired by your work that i'm going to try and get into this as a hobby. I'm a retired military veteran and a working Deputy Sheriff and just wanted to say you do beautiful work, and will continue to watch your work. your awesome. Thank You Sir.
Jim, recommend that you do another cleanup/housekeeping video. That last housekeeping video was before you started into resin. I’m especially interested how you handle the contents of the finishing clothes. Just a thought. If you are interested in doing RUclips “shorts” videos, consider doing one on the setting up the glue block frying pan. I get what your doing, but it might help the folks who are 100% learners
Jim, you did a dump run. You discussed how you could not include walnut…someplace… because it was harmful to animals. I’m curious how you dispose of the resin dust, etc. 4 November 2020 was the last cleanup/disposal one that you did.
I love watching wood turning. I'm sure that I saw a teddy bear and a heart in the wood grain on the bottom of the platter. Thanks for sharing your talent. Blessings.
I really appreciate not only you explaining the "how's" but also when you explain the "why's". I dabble with resin in wood (mostly patching) but it is messy and costly but getting a corer would certainly stretch the resin costs. Another great project.
"and let's be honest. I love my shiny finishes". Yes you do! I do too. It just brings it up a notch aesthetically. And of course low-no maintenance is a bonus. ❤️ Lovely set, Jim.
I'm loving the way the burl & the pearl with the resin looks in these! They really turned out beautiful. It's good to see you taking the time to fix any little thing that you may see that's not quite right. You're a perfectionist for sure & it's so nice to see. The colors of your pieces absolutely pop in the sunshine after you apply the finish. They're really beautiful! Keep killin' it! Take care & God Bless!!!
Absolutely gorgeous set of bowls with that amazing platter! I am sure that the person receiving them, will Absolutely love this stunning ser!!! I just love the box elder burl in the pieces! Thanks again for sharing! ❤🙃😎
The pieces are absolutely beautiful...the colors and the beral is to die for. A tip I have learned on 1 to 1 epoxy is to pour your thinner part first and then pour your thicker part second...it helps with measuring and also with mixing it.
Looks great! I've been watching you turn for a couple years now and I think you've helped my skills progress greatly. I am very proud of almost everything I turn these days. I need to start selling peices because my basement is filling up, lol. Thanks Inlay Jim!
I grew up with a few huge old box elder trees, and they liked to get rot in the heartwood. The other was the female trees were prone to a bazillion matte faded black and orange box elder bugs everywhere in the fall with trying to find a place to hibernate (moved in here, four female trees, low grade horror B movie) Then you take some of that wood, and make purr beauty of it. And despite everything that showed up, you persevered and that green was wowza. Box elder is in the maple family and has paired winged seeds. Making mold to pour some gold resin seeds, or even just collect some of those seeds and imbed them on the red would do a good save of the blown tray. Just keep showing me some more of those hunky tools, like that bowl corer as well. Wanting one maybe soon, just keep me drooling. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Those bowls are a lovely set and the platter is magnificent. A suggestion for the second platter would be to pour more resin in a contrasting color like blue or gold. There will be a witness line but it'll be much less obtrusive than a similar line on a bowl. You're getting 31°C/89°F temperature in Ontario. Here in Connecticut on the shore line the warmest we've been this spring is 21°C/70°F. Weather is being funny this year.
Beautiful works of art I always enjoy learning something new from your Videos like the disposing of the rags correctly Your willingness to share your knowledge is much appreciated
I love glossy coats on wood because it enhances the chatoyance of the wood grain plus it makes resin pop. I don't do wood turning but I've done a number of refinishing antique furniture projects and just started doing resin tables recently. I have a reloading table I did a river pour on then about .36 inch of built-up resin on top.
Awesome bowls as always, but that platter ... OMG! That platter is astonishing. The burl is fantastic and the resin and red colour really makes it shine. It's pure awesomeness! 🤩 Marcus is a lucky guy getting these.
Once again I am speechless Jim !! That is one " Oh My Gosh " platter ! So beautiful . And the bowls WOW ! The epoxy is just gorgeous ! Thank you again for sharing .
I LOVE your shiny finishes too! Your work always comes out stunning and full of color! And you're totally right, leaving work for your customers is a bad idea when it comes to any kind of consumer business. It's not like the old days when everyone was accustomed to everything requiring a lot of work to keep going for decades to come. The current consumer society is based on the idea that when it's time for maintenance, it's probably time for the trash. This has bred a lot of people with little knowledge of upkeep nor impetus to do any upkeep. So it's definitely worth the extra time to make it last for them! They'll be so happy with the bowls and such they buy from you! I love that the small bowl you got has burl as well as resin in it. It's hard to get both in those tiny bowls. Btw, have you considered taking some of those small bowls and instead of finishing them, maybe stacking several, adding a contrast resin and creating a hollow form? You've had great success with using refuse pieces as filler for larger projects. Idk if you'll find this is a more cost effective thing to do with them, but if it is, it could really help! Great work, Jim. Thank you so much for sharing your work with us!
Thank you so very much for sharing your work with everyone. These videos are educational as well as entertaining and I appreciate you so much. The bowls are spectacular and the tray I’d absolutely gorgeous. This Mississippi girl loves your channel and look forward to more from you. Thank you again.
Definitely pine cones and another color! Beautiful work as always. I wish I could afford to buy one of your bowls. I would be a beautiful addition to my home. Take care and stay safe.
Once again you have outdone yourself. The platter is absolutely spectacular, and the bowls are stunning. I also like that you show us when something does not work out as planned.
I have to say that when I first started turning. I was not a fan of super shiny finishes. Then I found your channel. You definately changed that for me. I think its the only way to go now. And because of you. I now also use the waterlux. Thanks. Then you got into resin. And really opened my eyes to what could be done with it. You have taught me a lot. And I thank you for that. I now see that the hybrid projects are in my future. I really have to say that this hobby is a black hole. Lol.
I feel like a broken record here, but, once again, very pretty. My grandfather loved the colors green and red so I couldn't help but be reminded of him while watching this video.
Great, I’m glad it brings back memories of him for you, thanks 😊
That burl just keeps on giving! Those bowls are beautiful but the platter is truly outstanding!!
Thanks!
….. ……. I’m speechless over that platter Jim. The bowl set is nice, but the platter…… Stunning is not even close to how spectacular it is
It’s a one of a kind! Thanks 😊
I love how you can turn 1 piece into 3 bowls, wow, so pretty! The platter is beautiful also. You do awesome work!
Thanks 😊

The color of the resin, with that wood, all the figuring and lines. It just completely makes that platter an absolutely stunning piece.
Thank you very much!
That moment when the finish goes on and the colors pop, that’s my favorite. The box elder burl is spectacular. Beautiful work.
Me too 😜😜 thanks
I can see that dish in the center of a table. The effect of the burl is fantastic. The bowls have a nice pearl finish.
BRAVO Jim
Thanks 😊
I believe all 4 of these had AWESOMENESS! Lovely colors.
Lol, I think you Awesomely right! Thanks haha.
What a stunning set. Wow!!! One very lucky woman who is receiving this. You did an incredibly awesome job. Amazing. 💜😊💜🇺🇸

That platter is a beauty - the green of the bowls + then the red look brilliant as a set - wow!
Just beautiful
