Savio Vega had issues with the Kliq and it almost got physical. He said in a car watching the whole thing was Taker, Godfather, Rikishi, and Yokozuna. Vega said Taker told him they hoped that the Kliq didn't ease up bc they all wanted to beat the shit out of the Kliq.
The Kliq was notorious for getting their way back the early to mid 90's. I remember an interview with Ahmed Johnson saying that Shawn Michaels wanted him stop doing more athletic type moves because at his size it wouldn't look as impressive when Michaels did it. I would've bitch slapped him right then and there.
The kliq was the coolest thing in the wwf in the mid 90s there way of wanting too control the roster at that time was messed up but if anybody else would have been in that position that would have done the same too stay on top bryan clark was a decent wrestler but didn't make it too the level he probably really wanted too
I think he had a great look and could have gone on to do more, if pushed more, I think he was a wasted opportunity to be honest, he had the look and he executed his moves really well, specially the power bomb he used to do.
The hate is real about whoever did this for that one and etc etc etc. But what it comes down to is HBK is the best in ring person nobody did that but himself.
@SWO4LIFE2 He was probably the highest drawing New Generation star. Compared to Austin or Hogan, no he didn't, but we have to remember the era-- WW(F) had lost all 4 of their biggest draws (Hogan, Warrior, Savage and Flair) between 93 and 94, and that's when all the scandals and controversy surrounded WWF. I feel the same way about HBK (tho his later numbers made up for his earlier ones)-- the fact that he drew AT ALL in 1996 is a miracle. WCW owned 1996
I never heard Vince was bisexual, and I’ve watched a crazy of shoot interviews but only those posted here on RUclips. I’m saying it hasn’t been said, actually just inquiring on what has been said by who or any other circumstantial evidence. Thinking of it now and just evaluating if there’s anything to suggest it, there’s a few things that can explain Vince potentially being bisexual or whatever term is appropriate for a move like the former NJ governor - identifying as gay but married to female with kids prior to coming out. 1. Vince is still married to Linda. No divorce. That marriage going the distance always seemed off. First, Vince always was in ridiculous shape, especially as he reached his 50s and beyond. He made 50s and 60s look much younger. Gym rat and HGH/etc attributed. Ok so ever look at him and Linda side by side sayin in 2000s? She looked 15-20 years older. No cosmetic enhancement to look younger (not judging but as Vinces lady I’m sure he would pressure her if they were a true couple). She never divorced him, which would be appealing to split the empire and live her own life IF Vince cheated etc to provoke her. And we all would have assumed Vince did cheat given the tv angles with divas. Also traveling so much it’s almost expected. 2. Pat Patterson. Gay we know. Old story. But many rumors and allegations of inappropriate sexual conduct. Ring boy scandal in early 90s is biggest. Also Rowdy Piper essentially admitted Pat - and can’t remember if he said another was involved - had inappropriate sexual contact with him during his first brief stint in WWF in 70s. And countless other ex WWE talent have insinuated Pat held somebody’s job or a push in peril looking to get sexual favors for job security or advancement. It goes on. But how could Pat stay in company for decades surviving resignation for 1990s ring boy scandal just to return within a year or two. Add on all the other here say, with potential HR complaints or similar. Keeps his job throughout...why because he is the best planning finishes to matches??? That outweighs all the sexual misconduct baggage? Hmm maybe he’s Vince’s special mentor of unknown nature. They traveled together for years. Keep one close in on the secret that knows a shared lifestyle ??
scott hall was one of the best workers ever for a big man. Nash was limited but rarely had a bad match, and Waltman was a great worker. They all had great matches. Hall in particular was regarded by all in the business as a great worker.
One of the most underrated ill treated wrestlers out there was this guy Bryan Clark, has every right to be bitter, he left the wwe because he was sick of being lied to and treated like crap. It sucks that he could not amount to more of a superstar because he was forced into an early retirement with the injuries he withstood, this guy had huge potential to be great but of course the BS wrestling industry which is known for overworking talent then throwing it in the trash did the same in this case
Bob Holly is another one who thinks he came up with the name. For what it's worth, Scott Hall himself said it was Bam Bam Bigelow who come up with the 'Kliq' name. That doesn't make it true, but considering the source, I've got to give +1 to Bam Bam here.
people have heat the Kliq and I mean some have the right but in the end vince felt that none of these bitter wrestlers had what it took and even after nash hall and pac left it was just shawn because hunter had no power back then and these guys still couldnt get over with the fans or vince. Its not Shawn or the Kliqs fault its just they didnt have what it took. Which is why when they went to WCW they still couldnt make it. Also it was years ago time to get over it
Agreed! The wrestling biz sounds like a horrible thing! So many bitter guys out there, mostly from guys who never could get over. The Kliq certainly isn't innocent, but at the end of the day 90% of these guys couldn't make it because of THEMSELVES. The mirror, however, is hard to look at.
Bryan Clark(Adam Bomb) had the size, look, and everything else required, but fans ultimately decide at the end of the day who's over.He wasn't charismatic either like Shawn Michaels,Kevin Nash,or Scott Hall,as much as I hate to say it sometimes.
Haohmaru Of Wind Crush got over Macho Man on house shows because I remember he did at one house show I was at in Sydney,Nova Scotia in 1994.That feud with Doink when he was a babyface was a joke for that very reason.
Haohmaru Of Wind Yokozuna would have been WWF Champion then and it wasn't as if Vince was going to have faith enough in Crush to give him a run with the belt anyway, not even a short reign.
there's actually a story from Cornette where he says Shawn was supposed to drop a match but Taker wasnt sure he would so after Takers match, he sat backstage right behind the curtain...taped his hands up and waited. Then when Shawn dropped the match like he was supposed to, Taker got up, went to change, and went home.
Bret and Taker friends with the Kliq? Come on!!!!!!! Taker threatened Shawn with a beating when Michaels expressed concern about jobbing to Austin at Wrestlemania. And we all know how much of a "friend" Bret was with them.
Beckonor Oh, I thought Curt did it to wrestlers he didn't like. Remember when the Rougeaus got ribbed and blame the Bulldogs???? I heard it was Curt who did it.
Very true.. that was Bryan Adams that said that. Considering he had been in the business for too long (not sure when he started but I remember watching him as a member of Demolition back in 1990) to go back to training, so he went indy, and Bryan Clark had back problems and wanted to stay loyal to his friend and partner so he quit. Was a shame... I loved Kronik and they easily could have dominated tag division, and maybe Adams would still be alive today
@el84oro To be honest, I think half the roster believed that the other guys were not sophisticated enough to know what the word(s) clique/Kliq meant so they noted the laughs when they mentioned the name and thought it was because of them.
My God another one Clarke add him to the list of wrestlers who dont like Kliq Him Bam Bam Perfect Bret Hart Tatanka Rick Rude Bob Holly Austin Taker Rock Jericho Bob Backland Foley Ahmed Johnson SAvio Vega Sid Raven Godfather Harris Bros Ron Simmpns Bradshaw i could go on Rock Austin both had to put up with Trip and Shawn holding them back
Wouldn't say he was a horrible draw, he just wasn't a Stone Cold or The Rock draw. Who could say if he didn't miss those 4 years he might have been a huge draw but the fact is he wasn't and didn't make that kinda money. No offence to Shawn Michaels fans as he probably is the best performer to step into the WWF/WWE. But he was not the greatest money drawing Champ ever.
If you have access to the WWE's Superstar Billy Graham DVD watch it and look at Vince's expression when greeting him. That look alone convinced me there was something there.
My favorite time in wrestling was when he and Triple H started DX. They were too good at that time. And with Austin, Foley and the Rock's star rising it was just a classic time to be a fan. But he's not #1. That spot belongs to either Austin or, hate to say it, Hogan. Hands down.
I knew Vince McMahon had a brother his name is Roderick. The only reason I know this though is because I read an article about how he was supposed to appear on Raw for the Vince McMahon Memorial when his limo blew up but Chris Benoit decided to go psychopath and they actually dedicated the show to him because he really died. Or murdered his family and committed suicide whatever you want to call it
i was on my way back from wrestling training and ran into the guy who bullied me 15 years ago! he had become a really nice person.. it was great to move on.
Money wise and ratings wise HBGay was the LOWEST drawing Champ ever. That yeah he beat Bret in 96, Hall and Nash left, WCW was taking over in the ratings and the company was in real trouble. One of the reasons Bret left was because financially WWE couldn't pay him what they promised him and Vince suggested Bret take the WCW money. It took Stone COld to elevate the company and bring it back to number one, NOT HBGay. He was never worth anything and never did the right thing for the business.
Yet another former WWF'er alluding to Vince/HBK having a gay affair. BTW, awesome fucking shoot. Never would have thought Clark would have been shooting hard like this. Love when wrestlers just bury the assholes they worked with.
Kevin Nash has stated on a shoot (this includes both him and Scott Hall in the interview) talking about how Vince sat them down to tell them about his first homosexual experience. It's somewhere in the depths of youtube. It wasn't surprising to say the least.
I hate Hogan and Bret Hart. Two people who I want to like but the more they open their mouths, the more I hate them. Shawn actually comes off as being likable in interviews in my opinion. Again, I don't know. I never had to work with him.
He shoots on “ribs” Owen was pulling on Luger when Lex and Bulldog would team together, he makes it sound like straight bullying tbh lol, part of me feels like that’s a big part of the reason why Lex wanted outta WWF so bad and signed with WCW for significantly less money
The first shoot i saw from the Bam Bam really made me like the guy even more, and pretty much everything he said was on par with some other shoots i saw, so when i heard him say Vince was gay really left me thinking... so IMO i don't really believe that he is straight up gay but he does have some inclination towards it, which doesn't surprises me at all since we all know the kind of guys he chooses to push...
@SWO4LIFE2 I agree and disagree. Bret had a huge "hero" following, the problem is that 10-year-olds don't order PPVs. He was an okay champ. And his last heel run was great. As a matter of fact, Survivor Series '97 had the biggest buyrate of the year...substancially higher than WM...all thanks to Bret and Shawn. (Though, Bret wrestled at WM, Shawn didn't.) But I agree that Flair deserved a good run (tho he did jump right back to WCW) and it's insane that Taker didn't REALLY hold the belt til '97
That's interesting that you say that. I liked Kronik and wish they would've made it big in the WWE again. But I heard, and im not sure if its true, that The Undertaker was so Irrate that the BOD vs Kronik matches were horrid (in his opinion) he demanded they get sent down to development til they got their act together. Whether or not its true, the decision was made for them to be sent down, but if the Taker story is true it strikes me as odd as Taker worked w/both of them in the early 90s
Bret Hart was over, he couldn't stand them. Undertaker was over, he didn't care much for the Kliq. Seriously, I could see your point if it was one or two guys that didn't like them. But there are just too many stories about there about Michaels and his crew. Hell, they even admit that they were world class assholes, yet folks still defend them with that tired ass "oh,they drew money" arguement.
I don't think anyone can deny that Shawn Michaels was one of the biggest pieces of shit in the business at one point. Maybe he was until the day he retired. Fact of the matter is that most of the people who hated him in the business could never deny his skills.
Ok cause who is this guy compared to any members of the Kliq?Honestly it takes balls to do what the Kliq did during the 90's and they became very succesful. Usually guys like Adam Bomb or Bam Bam or Shane Douglas are jealous and talk crap about them because they were not on the Kliq's level.
@Roguemember Really? There's probably about a dozen shoots where the clique gets shit on 10x harder. If that's what makes a great shoot in your eyes, anyway.
No he quit because of michaels and the Kliq Just like Bam Bam quit because of the cliq Here is a list of wrestlers who have been held back mate over the yrs by the Kliq and It still happens today Owen Hart Bulldog Takanta Chris Candido was considered To be as good as Michaels was held back and bullied daily by the Kliq Shane Douglas Ahmed Johnson Both Austin and Rock have said they were held back by the Kliq Edge ShamRock Kane too savio Vega The Hurricain Tyson Kidd David Hart Ziggler too
@Dam0ndash9 Shawn didn't draw as champion. The WWF survived despite him, not because of him. Moving the title from him to Austin was what really turned it around. And that title switch was something Shawn didn't want to do, The Undertaker had to physically threathen him to do the job to Austin.
I gotta say, in my years of watching RUclips videos and reading the comments, HBK fans are almost on a par with Michael Jackson fans in terms of their obsession and rabid defense. Shit, forget ripping HBK to pieces verbally, you can't even critique the guy as anything other than the greatest superstar icon to ever grace the ring with the greatest moveset ever, and the greatest money drawing world champ EV-AR without his nutso fans insulting you or threatening to kick your ass for it.
This is one of the funniest shoots I have ever heard. Bryan Clark was a decent performer, never really reached his potential in my opinion. Does he sound bitter, maybe but he seems to be telling it the way he saw it as best as he can. If only his promos were 1/4 of what this shoot was like maybe he would have made a bigger impact but who knows at the time he was competing their was so much competition you kind of had to play politics and be a backstabber to get to the top.
It's funny that all the wrestlers that made it big in the 90's like Sid, mr. perfect,Bret Hart, Undertaker, etc. are all friends with the kliq guys. its the ones that didn't make it that don't like them
its not about what type of people these guys are, its about how they work in the ring. HBK, Scott Hall and the rest of the Kliq are great in ring workers and on the mic.
I'm hardly surprise he quit. If you take a well established, well-known tag team or singles worker and try to change them, it's just not likely to work. With newer guys, it'd be a lot easier.
I love these interviews. I can never hear enough hate about the Kliq.
Tons of people hated the Kliq, not just guys like Adam Bomb. Undertaker didn't like putting up with their shit, either.
I don't care how many guys I had in a group with me. I could never face Taker.
"Vince and Pat both liked seeing him in the shower" LMAOOOO!
lol)))))damn,i like this guy)))))i`m a big fan of Shawn Michaels,but.....i like how Bryan shoots on him))))
Bryan Clarks time in WCW made complete sense being he is from Atlanta and all
Bryan Clark was so misused, his adam bomb gimic was great, I loved it as a kid, He really showed have given the push he deserved.
Big and had a great look. He should have a been a bigger star than he was. Even just based on those two factors.
I liked Clark better in WCW.The Wrath character was cool to me back then and I loved Kronik.
the Wrath gimmick really stood out to me more so than Adam Bomb. often wonder how Wrath never joined nWo.
Yes sir I agree plus he became a better worker
The Kliq was notorious for getting their way back the early to mid 90's. I remember an interview with Ahmed Johnson saying that Shawn Michaels wanted him stop doing more athletic type moves because at his size it wouldn't look as impressive when Michaels did it. I would've bitch slapped him right then and there.
If it were a good group of guys, where was Bret Hart or The Undertaker, Stone Cold, or anyone else who were genuine good guys
Nash was never as hated as Shawn.
Nash was always a mature gentleman. Who treated people with respect. Shawn was a disrespectful prick
Clark was in the middle of a big push in 1998 when Kevin Nash pinned him clean on Nitro and his career never recovered.
The way he says piece of shit lol
RJTheAlternative1 I picture his head moving left right left right when he said that.
I really enjoyed Clark's work as Wrath and Kronik. It's a shame they were tossed aside in WWE after 1 bad match. Then back injuries ruined his career!
wwf
He is on point with this shoot. He retired in 2004 due to injuries.
The kliq was the coolest thing in the wwf in the mid 90s there way of wanting too control the roster at that time was messed up but if anybody else would have been in that position that would have done the same too stay on top bryan clark was a decent wrestler but didn't make it too the level he probably really wanted too
I remember that. Taker said he got mad after a rumor going around he wasnt gonna drop the title at Wrestlemania 14
I wished him and Adams aka Crush would've been given a better run when they came back to WWE, they were a solid, badass tag team
wwf
I think he had a great look and could have gone on to do more, if pushed more, I think he was a wasted opportunity to be honest, he had the look and he executed his moves really well, specially the power bomb he used to do.
The hate is real about whoever did this for that one and etc etc etc.
But what it comes down to is HBK is the best in ring person nobody did that but himself.
@SWO4LIFE2 He was probably the highest drawing New Generation star. loved this guys wrestling abilities, was great as Adam Bomb and Wrath,he was a huge underrated wrestler
Man that rumore about Vince being Bi wont go away
How many wrestlers have said Vince
And Shawn were gay a truck load

@peterp21 Ok but what does that have to do with his wife? What did she ever do to him?
there's actually a story from Cornette where he says Shawn was supposed to drop a match but Taker wasnt sure he would so after Takers match, he sat backstage right behind the curtain...taped his hands up and waited. Then when Shawn dropped the match like he was supposed to, Taker got up, went to change, and went home.
WM 14 vs. Steve Austin.
@alansalt She was looking for a golden goose and got one in HBK
It's funny how many guys say they came up with the name "the Kliq" : Bryan Clark, Lex Luger, Bam Bam, perhaps even Pierre Carl Ouelette.
I came up with it last week. Bret Hart stole it off of me in his time machine
The only thing I take issue with in his shoot is his apparent dislike of all things cruiserweight, otherwise I understand someone hating on the kliq.
Bret and Taker friends with the Kliq? Come on!!!!!!! Taker threatened Shawn with a beating when Michaels expressed concern about jobbing to Austin at Wrestlemania. And we all know how much of a "friend" Bret was with them.
Is there a difference between the Kliq's ribbing, Henning's ribbing and Owen's ribbing???
+kenterminatedbygoogle Owen and Henning didn't do it out of malice and they got along with everyone.
Beckonor
Oh, I thought Curt did it to wrestlers he didn't like. Remember when the Rougeaus got ribbed and blame the Bulldogs????
I heard it was Curt who did it.
this bloke is a funny bastard, he does not fuck around with his words!
This is the best shoot ever!

Watch the Savio Vega shoot interview for RF and learn if Taker had a good impression of HBK. Later, they bonded, but before that, not so much.
i had that issue when i was little!
i liked adam bomb.
How many people have to tell similar stories before it has more to do with the kliq than guys being sour?
people who defend shawn michaels are the same people who shit on hogan.
"You should add a -ED to that tattoo"
@el84oro To be honest, I think half the roster believed that the other guys were not sophisticated enough to know what the word(s) clique/Kliq meant so they noted the laughs when they mentioned the name and thought it was because of them.
My God another one
Clarke add him to the list of wrestlers who dont like Kliq
Him Bam Bam Perfect Bret Hart Tatanka Rick Rude Bob Holly Austin
Taker Rock Jericho Bob Backland Foley Ahmed Johnson SAvio Vega Sid
Raven Godfather Harris Bros Ron Simmpns Bradshaw i could go on
Rock Austin both had to put up with Trip and Shawn holding them back
Scott Hall way better worker than this low life Adam Bomb
this guy was the man as adam bomb, wrath, 1/2 of the kronik team you name it this guy was an awesome performer

Roman reigns look like Adam bomb so ...y didn't bomb get a title run?
Cuz of Diesel. He also looked like Roman in 1994-96. Then Taker looked like Roman from 96-98.
cant blame the guy for being honest, others have said that hbk was arrogant ,silly, druguser sometimes the truth hurts
so glad he did not die like his partner. health and happiness to you Bryan!
Who the hell named the Kliq the Kliq I heard it was Lex Lugar, Bam Bam Bigelow and now Adam Bomb?
My favorite time in wrestling was when he and Triple H started DX. They were too good at that time. And with Austin, Foley and the Rock's star rising it was just a classic time to be a fan. But he's not #1. That spot belongs to either Austin or, hate to say it, Hogan. Hands down.

@MaxZorin2099 this guy was a great wrestler who was underused massivly
He's a liar, Lex Luger named them that. Several other people have verified that on shoots.
From alot of wrestler ive watch them say in interveiws that shawn was gay.
LMAO! Dude wakes up for a photo shoot and his eyebrows are gone! Damn! nice one
Clark is now the 4th guy I have heard CLAIM they gave the Kliq their name.
Definitely not the first guy who has hinted around that Vince has homosexual tendencies.
Adam Bomb actually sounds like a cool dude.
I hate Hogan and Bret Hart. Two people who I want to like but the more they open their mouths, the more I hate them. Shawn actually comes off as being likable in interviews in my opinion. Again, I don't know. I never had to work with him.

Whether or not its true, the decision was made for them to be sent down, but if the Taker story is true it strikes me as odd as Taker worked w/both of them in the early 90s
BRYAN CLARKE SO COOL !!!!!!!
@driverider No, I came up with the name Clique!
I met this guy at Nighttown in Destin, FL. Nice guy.
@Roguemember
Really? There's probably about a dozen shoots where the clique gets shit on 10x harder. If that's what makes a great shoot in your eyes, anyway.
No he quit because of michaels and the Kliq
Just like Bam Bam quit because of the cliq
Here is a list of wrestlers who have been held back mate over the yrs by the Kliq and It still happens today
Owen Hart Bulldog Takanta Chris Candido was considered
To be as good as Michaels was held back and bullied daily by the Kliq
Shane Douglas Ahmed Johnson
Both Austin and Rock have said they were held back by the Kliq
Edge ShamRock Kane too savio Vega The Hurricain
Tyson Kidd David Hart Ziggler too
@Dam0ndash9 Shawn didn't draw as champion. The WWF survived despite him, not because of him. Moving the title from him to Austin was what really turned it around. And that title switch was something Shawn didn't want to do, The Undertaker had to physically threathen him to do the job to Austin.
How they work in the ring? The only one of those guys that could work was Michaels
WHOA talking about HBK's wife like that Mr Clark "making the rounds" WATCH OUT NOW!
@ColCrackABitch y?because he has his own opinions about the kliq ,thats contrary to the fans?
It's funny that all the wrestlers that made it big in the 90's like Sid, mr. perfect,Bret Hart, Undertaker, etc. are all friends with the kliq guys. its the ones that didn't make it that don't like them
Shawn said that it was Lex Luger who really came up with the name the Kliq
"Over this over that, draw this draw that"
Lex came up with the concept
Jeez I wonder why Feinstien wanted to know if Vince swings both ways?
I have that magazine stillin the picture!!
I knew that was Adam bomb.
my lawyers will be in contact with you
HBK said it was Luger
its not about what type of people these guys are, its about how they work in the ring. HBK, Scott Hall and the rest of the Kliq are great in ring workers and on the mic.
Wrath has a good point. You have to know when to joke. Not everyone puts up with that.
that infamous hogan segment with vince on smackdown in 2003 really makes me wonder...
I'm hardly surprise he quit. If you take a well established, well-known tag team or singles worker and try to change them, it's just not likely to work. With newer guys, it'd be a lot easier.
@driverider Nope, it was me! And I spelt it wrong because it was kewl, too... *sighs*
