From IMDB :- In an interview with 'Rudy's Movie Reviews", Kevin Nash stated he was told the reason his character, Francis the bouncer, was allowed to live. Nash said that when Wick mentions he had lost some weight and Francis stated he had lost 20 kg, Wick was asking in code how many hostiles were in the building. Francis' reply was 20. Because he provided the information to Wick, he was allowed to live.

Everyone always wonders why Mr Mayhem is laughing at the end when he shoots at Wick once. It's because his boss gave him a gun with only one bullet in it (probably Vigo intended to use that bullet on himself if John caught up to him), which is why he looks at the gun while he laughs. He's literally laughing at how screwed he is.
Theres a magazine in the gun and the slide isn’t locked back, meaning he wasn’t on his last shot
Having the bad guys kill the puppy was brilliant writing. It allows the protagonist to do ANYTHING, and, no matter how violent he gets, it ensures that the audience will ALWAYS be on his side.
Regarding John Wick's friend, Marcus - it's important to remember the detail where he asked Virgo whether the contract was open or exclusive. Because it was open, it allowed Marcus to help John without raising too much suspicion compared to if it was exclusive.
thats what i thought and also he prolly asked if it was open for the very reason you said,and also to watch over him without suspicion etc and maybe he was curious why there was an open contract on a retired assassin and why did viggo come to a cxlose friend to ask him personally to get involved.
we learn later that John's suits are indeed a sort of super suit. especially made to withstand gunshots and knife attacks. Love Leia's voice and dimple!

Around 18:00, you asked "Why is he waiting?" and "Why is the little runt getting away?"
It's because John doesn't just want him dead. He wants him scared shitless, running for his life, questioning his decision to ever cross John and completely devoid of any hope (just like he left John by killing Daisy) of escape from the inevitability that is John Wick...and only then does he want him dead, and he doesn't even care enough to listen to his last words because he's no longer of any concern to him.
That's why he stared Iosef down while shooting his bodyguard while he was in the pool. That's why he missed 4 shots while Iosef was running past the glass (despite his impeccable aim in any other situation). That's why instead of shooting Iosef with the rifle in the safehouse, he chooses to kill each and every one of his bodyguards in front of him first, leaving him completely helpless, hopeless, and terrified.
Every John wick movie is decent and worth a watch. The story progression is pretty gripping.

S for vigo's end...my guess is john traded a gut wound which he prob made sure didnt hit anything super vital for damaging vigos shoulder..prob even severing the subclavian artery is my guess which is about a 2 min death sentence and can only be operated on to be fixed being opening up the chest. Depending on the angle may have cut or nicked any number of important things but my guess looking at artery placement charts is the subclavian due to its shoulder area placement

You are the first who said what I’ve been thinking since I first saw the movie “Why try to get him in his home where he has the advantage?” Not that it mattered 😂
One thing most reactors miss is the fact that where his wife gets ill is the same location he and the dog walk past at the end. Also, his wife was the vet who ran the shelter where he got the last dog which by the way was to be put down according to the clipboard on the cage, it is also why she sent him the first dog.
It is said that the actor that had to simulate killing the dog ended up adopting it because he was so bothered by it. Also, watch closely during the bathhouse scene. You can see John shootimg with both hands. When he is shot the smaller pistol it is left handed, then he transitions to the larger pistol and is shooting with his right. As for Vigo's stb wound at the end, throught the top of the shoulder and under the arm pit are the fastest way to the artery that gos to the arm.

FUN FACT! From what I've heard, assassins are almost always already in a specific mob before being asked to do a hit, but I've also heard a potentially contradictory statement that apparently assassins tend to do hits as a favour for a specific mob and/or mafioso, regardless of pay. Either way I think being paid millions whilst also being asked specifically to do a hit, even if the hit is open, is usually a sign that you either won't wake up in the morning, or maybe the mafioso just happens to have enough respect for you specifically to notify you to do a hit on someone you'll have a conflict of interest over, for more money than other assassins working the same job. I wouldn't personally trust anyone offering me an amount of money if they weren't my mafioso. Or if I wasn't on good terms with my mafioso. And if I didn't actively *do stuff* with my mafioso. And if my mafioso didn't have such a nice ====. Like, good things come in small packages and all, but like, average and slightly above average can (in some scenarios) be *REALLY* good.

The Doorman (Kevin Nash) and Wicks' conversation regarding his weight loss of 60 kg was actually Nash providing Wick coded information on how many people inside etc, that's why he let him live. Kevin Nash mentioned it in an interview 🙌

Just found you tonite because I'm a huge JW fan. Got a best 3 movie ideas for you . LAW ABIDING CITIZEN with Gerard Butler and Jaime Foxx with all star cast . Action Thrills and keep you guessing until the end. UPGRADE a newer movie on the sci-fi bent but awesome with great effects and a surprise twist ending you won't expect. Director is an guy who started by being in the first SAW movie.....another great series if like horror. First 7 are connected with 10 being between part 1 and 2.....finally TWISTER with a nature thriller adventure with heart and humor.....enjoy

Upgrade is definitely a great sleeper flick. If you liked John Wick, then another flick to check out would be "Nobody". But, I'd also throw in The Man From Nowhere, I Saw The Devil & OLDboy. (Enjoy OLDboy, hehehe...)

Maybe try Lone Survivor (2013) next. True story of Marcus Luttrell, Navy SEAL, who was the only survivor of his unit during a failed reconnaissance mission in Afghanistan. Amazing film and story. John Wick was loosely based on Luttrell also. His dog, Dasy, was killed on his property in Texas. Marcus chased them down with only a 9mm, fully prepared to put them down before police arrived

Maybe the greatest love story ever. But it's also a story about order and chaos. Iosef unleashes chaos, because he thinks nothing can hurt him. But nobody is ever safe, not really. In some ways, John serves a similar job to Jimmy the police officer. John Wick punishes people who have gotten too far out of line.
How come? No movie nights with family or friends at the cinema? No movie outings during the holidays? Or popcorn and movie nights at home?

-Colors play a large part of the overall world building. If keanu is in blue light, its a safe area, if its red light, he's in danger.
-The overall color palate of the movie is muted to represent Johns grief over losing his wife.
-The Continental Hotel is a character all its own within the Wick-verse. Its a place where assassins can have a place to rest without any kind of repercussion or retaliation.
-The coins they use are not a type of monetary currency, but more of an access pass, which is linked to your status "under the table" so you may need to use more coins than others.
-The doctor in the hotel is played by the same actor that played the keymaker in the matrix movies.
-Every John Wick movie has a henchman that is just as skilled as John.
-John Wick's kill count across 4 movies is 439, all over a car and a dog.
-The dog at the end of the movie is Keanu's real pet dog.
-The bourbon John drinks is called Blanton's reserve.
-in the church shoot out there was an editing mistake and it showed the blank rounds when Keanu reloads his rifle.

The Latin used is older than the medieval Church Latin. It is a proverb that was seen as already ancient in the time when Ceasar lived(100 BC - 44 BC.) And yes i believe that it is the pagan meaning here as he has other very peganistic tatoos too.
Fortis = (The) strong (ones) referring to a specific group of people not boldness/strength etc. Those would be robur/audacia.
Fortuna = a Roman Goddess personification of Luck and Fate a force that could as easily be good or bad (it also seems to be capitalises as nouns are.)
Adiuvat = AD "to/toward" + IUVAT "help/aid/save" in this case it could be translated as "Goddess (Fortuna) comes to save/aid". So "favours" is nowhere near correct.

I think if a movie doesn't make you feel any emotion then it didn't achieve its goal, therefore it wasn't a good movie. Dramatic moments make us cry, comedy makes us laugh, thriller keep us on the edge of our seats, horror terrifies us and action excites us etc.
