Jen doing 19 miles despite not feeling well and hiking 33 miles the day before is admirable. Rosie the Corgi and the turtle helped get her through I’m sure. At least the campsite looked decent, and she hopefully got some well needed rest. Enjoyable video today! -Geo
Oh gosh, I just realized what today is. Jen I wish you a safe journey home. Have a great school year. I can’t wait to see you back on the trail with Matt. I’m going to miss you but I’m sure Matt will miss you a lot more. Take care and stay safe. ❤️☺️
Hey Y'all. Rosie just wanted to take a hike, maybe to just the front range, and you had to rat her out Matt! Taters, I hope you have a great birthday, and I and others will miss your giggles when you go off trail!
Happy Birthday Taters. Corgies are pushy little things. A friend had 5 Newfies when his wife got a Corgi. The Corgi became the top dog and bossed around the Newfies. It was sad to see that. Nice video. Happy Trails. Good Luck, Rick
Ah yes, hills . . . some ground that mysteriously decides to "rise" in Kansas and Colorado, briefly, then relapses into flat. Interesting concept! And happy birthday Taters! In for some tough times, but you'll pull through. Hike on, slowly, up and down those . . . things . . . bumps . . . hills. Tortoise
I hope Jen has gotten to feeling much better, although in real time, isn't this the day she had to go back to California? I'm kinda lost there. Also, Happy Birthday, Jen! I'd say 19-miles is far from a zero day, and I'll give Jen a break because I think this is the first time I recall days not going so well because Jen wasn't feeling up to it. It happens. Happy hiking!
I took that a lot as a kid but I think I stopped trying to carry it in my travel kit because the pills were prone to crumbling. I might have to experiment though
@@FirstChurchofTheMasochistHikes They have Pepto Bismol tablets wrapped in plastic now so if they break, they are contained in the wrapper. Pepto has antibiotic properties whereas Imodium doesn’t. I’ll take Pepto before Imodium.
Happy birthday taters!! I was north of Mt Hood doing the PCT one year on my birthday and found a deflated "happy birthday balloon" in the middle of the trail that I still have. Magic does happen!!
beating yourselves up, yikes! if I did 33 miles I would be dead at least for week, love he corgi, such a sweet dog, what a barren looking place no wonder I prefer the east.
Cute Corgi so much better than Mennopitbul! Many times made Lamar our noon pit stop for eats and fuel. After traveling a dozen times past the John Martin Reservoir one day decided to take a trip around it to just check it out and your video brought back memories of that. Like in some of your videos you start to run out of water reminds me of the times traveling from La Junta to Walsenburg which is like 60 plus miles of nothing and we're running low of fuel and we keep going to the next town along the way (no towns really) in hopes of finding a fuel station. Haven't run out yet though.
Kansas wants to see those water gates open - that's why there isn't any water in the Arkansas River in a lot of the state. It's been the subject of a long-standing water lawsuit between Kansas and Colorado.
Soundtrack for this vid: "Rosy Won't You Please Come Home" by The Kinks. Happened to me once on a bike and the owner showed up in a truck right before I was about to turn around. Didn't get to play with the one dog who wanted to chase me but not eat me, unfortunately. Happy past birthday to Taters! 🐢🐶🎂
The Amber Heard reference was hysterical! Sorry that Taters didn't get it. We were at John Martin in the mid 70s. The lake was completely dry. Only water was on the campground side.
Happy birthday, Jen! Corgis are my second favorite dog, I had two of my own in my younger days. I've been a Basset Hound guy for about forty years now. I would rather have Rosi than Amber.
Poor Taters , anniversaries are a bad thing for you : last year the broken but , now some stomach bug and always a year older ! Matt made a mistake : last year he told us 62 so now you must be 63😆🤣. Keep on trekking.
This is the Day she RETURNED to school. Best wishes Jen on a prosperous school year. Keep sending Matt clips of your adventures.

Happy birthday jen, I'm glad your both together for this special day🎉
Awww…thank you for taking case of Rosie. Yall are a couple of good eggs.
Thank goodness you called the owner of the dog. We were really concerned with the dog following so far on an open road.
Plus you never know if Tater's will get hungry!
Taters was more in an adoption frame of mind when she saw Rosie…
That was so cute with the Corgi. ☺️
I hope Jen is feeling better now. Happy early birthday to Jen. 🎉❤
You guys are awesome! Take care and god bless

Happy bbbb Birthday JEN!
Happy birthday Taters! 🎉
You were living my dream there for a little bit with Rosie. Corgis are such goobers.

Is Rosie the new channel mascot? That was so adorable. Glad she was able to brighten Taters' day.
Oh poor Jen! 😢 I worry! Must be heat exhaustion, dehydration and that 33 lb pack.
A RADIO SHACK?!?!? Those still exist?
My thoughts as well when I saw the sign
Exactly! What is that doing still open?
There are a few still open but I doubt the one in Lamar is.
Yes, Virginia, they do still exist
They’re making a comeback of sorts

Happy Birthday 🍰🍰🍰🍧🧁🍨hopefully there was a Hostess cup cake until a bday cake could be enjoyed!
Pepto Mismol tabs are the best for stomach issues. I never travel without them. Happy birthday Jen. May you get that great birthday cake soon!

Corgis are alright. It's basically a cat in a dog suit

wow i really like those campsites
Happy Birthday, Taters! Hope you’re feeling better.
I was concerned about the corgie-napping, glad it got a ride home.
Corgi's are just the best!
Doing 52 miles for the last two days…..nothing to feel bad about.
Amber heard comment almost cost you. lol 😂 . Was a cute pups tho. Awesome day! Wishing you guys the best! ❤
Dog peeing had me laughing out loud on my way to work
And after that the dog randomly popping up in the shot. Absolutely unintentionally hilarious.

I've stayed there too! Middle of nowhere, pfft, I live nearer the middle of nowhere than that.
Happy Birthday Taters at 62 you are just a youngster to me (77)
What do they mean Trail. Its a road 😮
❤
"Livestock on the highway,"
I don't know which is weirder, the livestock warning...
Or the fact they consider that gravel road a highway!
I think the meme/thought experiment is "what is the middlerest of nowhere?" and why does anyone think it isn't somewhere around Antioch, Nebraska?
What town
😎✌

OMG was that an actual Radio Shack? Was it still open?
👍👍 a very rare sighting now days
I saw the same thing and was just getting ready to comment on it, I thought they went out of business.
They are so remote that Radio Shack didn’t get the closure memo
@@eaglerare1273 😆
I looked it up and it says its still operating
Hey,just make a little sign that says ,Need water. People would be glade to stop and give you guys water,
Day 126. Another windy day.
