I loved this video.ive been looking to get some of these saws to do some crafts.and I absolutely love the small puzzle you made.the child you made that for will be so happy to have such a beautiful toy to play with
Great video! I’ve been trying to figure out which saw is needed to culture out a puzzle. You answered that and more. Thanks for the easy tips.
We have a grandson with problems, i have all the tools in my shed to do this, i will be in there to make some for him thank you John M .
Your welcome John. You''ll probably enjoy making them as much as your grandson enjoys playing with them. Good luck with your project!
Thank you, like to try my best to help them.
What a great grandpa.
Great video. I have a 7 month old that I want to start making toys for. This looks like a great project to add to my plans.
Very neat and professional!
Excelente trabajo educativo. Gracias por compartir.
Great video, good knowing where the puzzle is going.
Like you said - simple and beatiful!
Thank you for sharing.
Love your clean work. Thank you for sharing.
Very neat puzzles and also a great gift idea. My youngest grandson will be a year old in August, maybe a birthday presents and/or Christmas presents. Thanks for the idea.
Thank you, I'm glad that you liked it!
+Rick Mayotte I actually have the same saw as you. I've gotten it put together and set up, just haven't had a chance to use it. Maybe it's time I make time and get some puzzles done for my three grandchildren and for my two youngest sons 5 and 8. I'm sure I can find something geared towards their age also.
I think you'll like the saw, it has some good features. I'll be making a review video for it in the near future. The page listed in the description has patterns for different age levels and you can find a lot of other free patterns just by doing a google search. Enjoy your scroll saw time!
+Rick Mayotte thanks Rick.
I love this puzzle! Thanks for sharing it with us.
Nothing wrong with your technique or Alligator. Great job!
Thank you so much for sharing Rick....! I have a special needs child, this will fit his lifestyle....!
You're welcome Jack. I'm sure your child will be delighted with what you make and cutting out puzzles is an addictive pastime!
This is great! I love scroll saw projects like this. I had a question about blades, which one do you recommend for puzzles. I just bought the assorted pack with flying dutchman pin-less. They are pretty fragile. any recommendations will help? Great job!
great little puzzle thanks for showing this.
Excellent work. Love your style. You earned my sub. Thanks
Awesome making them for my daughter!!
I am just starting to learn to use a scroll saw and would like to try this puzzle and other simple 3-5 piece ones. Your included link for patterns doesn't appear to display patterns anymore. Is there another resource you use to find simple puzzle patterns for small children (both free & paid)?
Great video
very good work thank for charing that
what kind of paint you use please
Hi Rick, thank you for the video. Please let me know what type of wood and thickness you used for the puzzle. Thanks!
Adorable!!
Very nice! What kind of stain did you use on this?
Desde Palmira Colombia 😍👍😲
Hello!!! Loved your video!! Just got a scroll saw for Christmas and I am going to create puzzles!! I loved the colored stain you used, could you please tell me what kind of stain you used? Thanks so much! Holly
Great video Rick! Thanks for sharing. I'm looking to get a scroll saw myself. What type is yours? Any suggestions? Also what was the tool that you used near the end to round off the edge of the puzzle?
Thanks! This is an 18 inch Porter Cable scroll saw. I have an unboxing and a review video on this saw here: ruclips.net/video/M88K7MWhftI/видео.html
I am using a router mounted in a router table with a roundover bit to do the edges of the puzzle.
Excellent thank you very much
Good project--good video.
Thank You! I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
What blade would you recommend for cutting puzzles like this when using 3/4" pine? The blades I'm using seem to wander quite a bit. Thanks!
I would use a medium width pinless skip tooth blade. If your blade is wandering it may need to be a little tighter or you may be putting too much sideways pressure on the blade as you're cutting. relax your grip every so often to unsure that the blade is remaining centered. I hope this helps.
@@RickMayotte Thanks Rick! What number would be considered medium width? Much appreciated.
mr. mayotte, thanks for sharing. which type blade did u use? a spiral type?
No I haven't tried the spiral blades yet. I used a no pin, skip tooth blade. Because there's no pin you can use a smaller hole to insert the blade and the blade is so thin that you can make very tight turns.
Hi, I love this, want to learn... as a beginner what do I need to equipments do I need to get?
Any scroll saw that will take pinless blades and a package of skip tooth pinless blades is really all you need to get started.
I use clear shelving paper instead of blue tape...cool much cheaper and faster too
I really like these puzzles and your use of color I went looking for them at the website but was not able to find them please HELP!!
I'm not sure what you are asking but if it's about the color you can use minwax water based stains. You have them tinted in the paint department to the color that you want. Almost any hardware store or building supply store should carry them. If you're looking to buy some puzzles I'm sorry but I don't have any for sale right now.
Eu gostei muito desse seu artesanato, eu sou do Brasil da capital de São Luís do Maranhão que vende é sou apaixonado por artesanato por isso estou querendo comprar maquinários para eu fazer.
What size blade did you use ? I’m a beginning scroller. ☺️
Wouldnt just using a larger bit worknfor the eye? Is there a reason you used the saw?
I thought the same. Yes, I think.
beautiful :))
👍🏻
What the saw used in it. Thanks for share!
Subbed!
Thanks!
What do you use for the backer board?
He said a backer board of "Luan" to size. @ 00:50s
Memang pinter akale
what number blade did you use here?
Did you have to do any prep to the wood before you started?
I just cut the wood to size and sanded it before I started.
Why are my puzzle pieces bigger on one end than the other?
Because your blade isnt 90 degrees to the base.
Do u sell yr puzzles
I don't know what you mean by patton
I think you can learn more about it on WoodPrix.
Jarome Jacksan bombing every woodworking video on RUclips to try to drive traffic to your own site is a horrible trolling thing to do. I and others will never look it up on principle. Try making your own videos and stop hijacking others.
@@darinnetherland3466 I think you are working for those spammers from TheGeekPub. Are they pay good Darin??
Jarome Jacksan don’t even know what that is. Just know I’ve seen “learn more about on woodprix” comments about a hundred times in the past month on all sorts of barely related videos. That’s classic spamming.
Good plans
woodprix is nice for that.
