The reason these first three parts of algebra for beginnners is so helpful to me is because I have not reviewed these basic concepts since high school and am in college algrebra now where such things are not reviewed. So grateful for this channel.

The way I understand it is like this. For the sake of discussion and to distinguish one from the other I will capitalize the variables of the first polynomial while the second polynomial will be in small letters. Thus to expand will give us: (2A+3B)(2a+3b). You take the first polynomial (2A+3B) and multiply each of its term with the second polynomial, thus 2A(2a+3b) + 3B(2a+3b). Does that make sense? Or at least, that's how I understand it. I'm 53 yo and also just learning also.

      1/2*3.
there's the small thing 3. You will have to multiply.
      since there's 3, you will have to multiply 2 three times. So 2 x 2 = 4. One more! 4 x 2 = 8. 1/8

    • @-MadamOsafa

The fraction 1/2*3 = 1/8 because the two in 1/2*3 gets multiplied by the three so basically 2*2*2 because you multiply the two three times

I just don't get where the square came from in the result, on "a" and "b" also why not on "ab"?
I just can't leave anything without understanding, it pains me lol.
it probably came from the exponent on the first statement but I thought that was resolved in the process.
Teachers teach "how" and usually not the "why" this is why overthinkers have many unanswered questions about every lesson.
great explanation though I really appreciate it, I learnt a lot from part 1 to this part.,

    In the last question how is 6ab+ 6ab =12ab shouldn't it be 12 a^2 b^2 ?

At 2:41 this confused me because if you have two positive exponents while dividing shouldn't it be a¯² ? instead of a² because the bottom problem = a w/negative 4 exponent so shouldn't the other top problem be the same concept?

I get lost at the 10:00 mark
(2a+3b)(2a+3b) does not seem like it can equal 2a(2a+3b)+3b(2a+3b)
To me these two numbers are proportioal but not equal. 2a(2a+3b)+3b(2a+3b) is a much larger number.
This is how I always get lost in math. When a step is not logically explained I can not make the jump and then I am stranded at that point. Going ahead only adds to the confusion.

    at 11:45 Can someone explain how (-5) cube = -125 ?

    • @PCDoctorUSA
      @PCDoctorUSA 4 года назад

Think of it as (-5)(-5)(-5). Multiply -5 by -5 and you get 25. Now multiply 25 by -5 and you get -125. Make sense?
