Hi, and thank you for this tutorial, I am 59 Y.O. and going back to college and needed a refresher. I quit school after failing 3 times before the 10th grade due to undiagnosed dyslexia and attention deficit syndrome. At 45 I started on an Associate degree and graduated end of 2012 after my awesome wife recognized this about me, and convinced to have an expert help. Now I am refreshing math, to start a Bachelors in Engineering. I wanted to point something out however, problem # 13 The answer is actually 2400 because the question asks, "How many gallons were in a box" and not, "each box". I can tell what it was meant to ask when you solved in but I want credit! LOL.
*I failed Algebra because I would never "show my work". How does a child write down common sense? Adding insult to injury I was routinely accused of cheating to get the answers. When math started using letters I knew it was no longer mathematics, but it was wizardry. Ha!* *Because I had similar experiences with many other school subjects, aceing tests but getting Ds due to failing to turn in homework or show my work I was flunked two of my school years until I dropped out in the 10th grade.* *I have been married to the love of my life for more than 30 years, owned two successful real estate companies for 15 years, have employed over 200 people, helped several dozen families keep their home by saving them from foreclosure, and am excited about my future....* *....no algebra required.* 😉👍🏼
I’m so angry because I spent 30 years of my life thinking I was dumb my high school teacher never explained it like this. And I get this. I’m even using chat gpt to generate more equations after looking at each example and I’ve been able to solve all of them with no problem. I really wanna go to my math teacher or the damn school and demand a refund 😂
This is LRTLY THE BEST CHANNEL for teaching Math ! They've made the math more simple compared to the orig math method's !❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤👍👍😁😁 NAHHH 7TH GRADE IS HARD TO HELL :0
You should explain the different approaches to solving these problems. Some people will find some approach easier than others. You should not force a specific approach of your random choosing but explain all and let the student decide which approach suits them best. The opposite operation can be explained easier: Just as an example the fist problem x + 2 = 5 can be solved this way: You leave x on the left of "=" and everything else on the right: (every time a number goes to the other side of "=" it becomes an opposite: +2 becomes -2, -7 becomes +7 etc.) x + 2 = 5 >>> x = 5 -2 >>> x=3 You should be teaching people HOW to think not WHAT to think. Not every mind works the same and the more approaches you present students with the higher the chance each student will accept and adapt at least one into their way of thinking.
She doesn’t have time to explain all the possible approaches. We all know there’re multiple ways to solve a problem. She ain’t forcing one method. It’s up to you to decide whether this method is easy for you . There’re tons of videos with different methods. So you can explore those if you don’t like this .
@@charlescharliechazz The reason I made that comment in the first place is precisely because they chose the most overcomplicated explanation. I just wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and urge them to explain the more simple ones as well.
1.There are different approaches to everything. If we decide to teach all the different approaches, this video will never end. 2.We are NOT forcing any approach on anyone. We don't even have that power. 3. There is no one approach that is easiest for everyone. What you call complicated is EASY for others. Check the comments. 4.Because there are different approaches, we have a system to decide which method we choose to use. a) The method we choose must be based on sound mathematics. If this video were about math tricks, I would teach them. Moving things over the equal sign and changing the sign is simply not mathematics. It works, but it is NOT mathematics. I have a responsibility to teach math, not just something that works. The fundamentals of solving equations come from BALANCING. When you have a scale with 5 balls on the left and 5 balls on the right (assuming the weight of the balls is the same), you can add 2 balls to both sides, and the scale will still be balanced. You can subtract from both sides, and the scale will remain balanced. How do you move 2 from the left and change the 2 to minus on the right? b) The method must not be restrictive. That means you must be able to apply it when the problem becomes more complicated. c) It must be clear and easy to understand and apply in word problems or real-life situations. d) It must be the easiest for most of the students we teach. I appreciate the comment. It helps us clarify why we do things and also get others' opinions.
It have not done this since spring of 1984, when i was community college plus. This was very helpful to me. I still have problem with word problems Do you have a video on word problems?

But when in my 40's I still managed to independently derive the Special Relativity mathematical equations, and independently derive the Lorentz transformation equations. Are you saying that you learned Algebra and Calculus...etc in your 40s then you derived those equations? or you did it without Knowing a dam thing about Algebra and all that still
I recall how proud I felt when I reached pro-level in Algebra by cheating, graduating high school, and NEVER having to mess with this type of junk EVER AGAIN!
@@tbradfurd Funny story: I had to pass a CLAST test in order to graduate college. College Level Scholastic Test, common in Florida during the 20 aughts. It involved algebra, geometry, percentages, all that CRAP I HATE! I signed up for the test in May of 2005 for the test date in October of the same year. I found State resources with example problems related to the actual test, studied for 4 months and passed all 5 test batteries on the first try. My advisor told me that she BOMBED her first try and had to take failed batteries over again. I AM A WARRIOR! If I can cheat with no effort I will. If I can't then I make algebra my bitch.
I'm not mad at you 😂 I'm trying to do James madison online diploma and I'm stuck on the algebra 1 and the geometry. Photomath can't do it but no sure about the Photomath plus any advice please.
@@josephglenn4688 I do have a true story: In Florida I had to pass a College Level Aptitude Scholastic Test (CLAST) in 2005. Even if a college student has a 4.0 GPA after all coursework is completed, they still need passing scores on the CLAST to graduate. I studied for 5 months doing algebra, geometry, etc. because I knew I would fail. Finding practice resources was not easy. But after an internet search 2 week's later I found Tallahassee Community College had an entire catalogue of learning based on that specific test. They had sample problems and then 4 problems that got progressively more difficult to solve. I practiced every morning for 30 minutes before work and every evening for another 30 to 60 minutes, more on weekends. Some students fail some of the 5 different test batteries so when I took the test some people would leave, and others would join to take portions previously failed. The test went from 7 AM to 1 PM on a Saturday. I passed all batteries on my first try. If I tried that test again today, I would fail miserably. Find learning resources specific to the test that you have to pass.

*I have been married to the love of my life for more than 30 years, owned two successful real estate companies for 15 years, have employed over 200 people, helped several dozen families keep their home by saving them from foreclosure, and am excited about my future....*
*....no algebra required.* 😉👍🏼
Wow
😂😂😂 the ending
Taking a difficult entrance exam today🙏❤ This video really helped since i didn't go to a review center to learn!!!
All the best
I wish my teacher did her job and explained like you did in this video i would of passed my class back in 9th grade.
Glad we are able to help you understand better.
Yeah yeah yeah.... blame it all on the teacher. Never heard any student say it's me, I'm the problem
@@MJ-cf9nl That's because your'e the problem. "There are no bad students only bad teachers"
I forgot literally everything. Your steps are clear enough for me to understand, thank you!
I fully support the refund. 🤣. We are glad we are able to help. Thanks for the comment
This is LRTLY THE BEST CHANNEL for teaching Math ! They've made the math more simple compared to the orig math method's !❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤👍👍😁😁 NAHHH 7TH GRADE IS HARD TO HELL :0
Thanks for the comment
So you can explore those if you don’t like this .
that’s overcomplicating things
@@UltimateAlgebra loved your response with explanation.
It have not done this since spring of 1984, when i was community college plus. This was very helpful to me. I still have problem with word problems Do you have a video on word problems?
yes, we do. check our channel or our course
The best, this is and has help out.
Thank you for the comment. Always glad to help
I wanted to look at algebra before I go into high school this really helps and it looks pretty fun! I have dyscalculia so math hasn’t been my strong suit so I wanted an idea before I head for high school thank you!
Thanks for the comment. you're welcome
It“s easy had I learned it in my high school days.
agreed. you're here now and i'm sure it's still helpful;
I’m only 10 but I’ve never learned this kind of algebra it actually helps❤🎉😊❤🎉😊
Glad to help
Outstanding narration, well explained, very good pacing, really well done.
Yes, I agree
Thank you
Bro thus is the best explanation ever tysm no-one has ever explained like this there is even worded problems
Thanks for the comment
Studying to for the Asvab this helps out very much thank you !
Me 2
Great, do well with your pay checks.
For question 5 with the absolute value, what do you have to write 2 different problems with one as 7 and the other -7? Thanks. You always help me with understanding math better
Oh my gosh....I love this channel...it explains it clearly. ❤
Glad you love it
I’m only 10 and I really love math so I do these middle school stuff like exponent or 4 digit multiplication and I really love how these are explained so easily, thank you for building my knowledge!
Great job! You're welcome
I'm in 5th grade and learning so much
Keep up the great work!
Happy to hear that
Thank You this was very helpful!!
Is question 5, x. =7 and x=-10 or x=4 and x=-10?
exactly what i thought...
What I wrote is correct. I misspoke.
@@UltimateAlgebra I am literally thanking God for you for two reasons: I was only smart enough in highschool to take basic math and now I feel better about myself because of your teachings! AND I am SO thankful I scrolled for any input on question #5! I think I sat here for half an hour trying to figure out how x=7. I'm not obsessed with learning Algebra!!!
It helped me so much with my diagnostic test.
Happy to hear that.
@7:58 you said X=7 instead of X=4
That had me confused too i thought it was just me i couldnt find the comment section at first and i was going nuts
So 4 is right???
@@matansmineyes. X=4 & x=-10
Do you have a video like this one for algebra 2? I'm studying to try and get into the electrician's union and the test is mainly math? I was never able to take algebra 2 in school and found this video very helpful as a refresher course to help me study for the test.
8:44 where that 11 came from ???
The "1" that you see is actually just the | behind the x and after the first one
Dont worry, no new ones :)
@@BuzyBee9575😂 thanks it got me to

This is the best explanation of algebra. No bullshit. Your videos are amazing
Thanks for the comment. Happy to help
On question 15, where did the 3 come from in the Y column?
im pretty sure its just an example function
@@yea6049 you're right. It's just an example. The point here is that, the Y section is not of much relevance. The X section is what is most important
Thank you for teaching me algebra so easily🎉😊❤
It's my pleasure
66 years old and still haven't used it
I’m not even close to twenty…. And uh I wanna know algebra and I’m in fifth grade…. Is that bad… and is it bad I almost understand most of this 🤨

76 and couldn't care less haha .now there's brain-dead needs mixing simple maths into stupidity..I don't mean this video though
The first time I had to use it was when I was writing a computer program. Honestly, if you're not going into engineering or math you literally will never need this.
You explain everything step-by-step!
Algebra, Calculus, Geometry, Trigonometry, were names that meant not a darn thing to me, due to me dropping out of school. But when in my 40's I still managed to independently derive the Special Relativity mathematical equations, and independently derive the Lorentz transformation equations. But being a do it yourselfer, I derived them in a whole new way in comparison.
Are you saying that you learned Algebra and Calculus...etc in your 40s then you derived those equations? or you did it without Knowing a dam thing about Algebra and all that still
DIY is a good approach for math
Thank you miss.its very helpful for our 9th grade students.i will never forget your help.

My mind is blown to me algebra was an alien language I couldn't understand it but this video quite literally showed me how easy it is
I recall how proud I felt when I reached pro-level in Algebra by cheating, graduating high school, and NEVER having to mess with this type of junk EVER AGAIN!
And if you ever go to college its super hard to pass math, as someone who also cheated through highschool
Legend
A clear and concise presentation, thank you!!!
You're very welcome!
So, Math is no longer RACIST? Good to know.
😂😂😂😂
In question 3, negative 2 (-2) is also a solution. I was taught when taking the square root of a constant, such as 4, the result is plus or minus.
