see if can you claim the official page for this game on YT... so you can make a playlist of intro/reviews so new people like me can get to know what this game is, easier. the first time I saw videos about this game, I thought it was in realtime, lol. they were just replays. Still a cool game, I'll be trying it soon
@@Retromation not sure if you realized by now, but every character has fast and slow attacks. The game is mostly about positioning, strategy, timing, and mind games. The speed of the attacks don't matter if you know what to do.
My issue with regular fighting games is that everything is happening so fast and I don't know what's happening. What I love about this is that I can spend more time not knowing what's happening between moves. Interesting game tho I enjoyed watching it alot
yeah, in fighting games you need to come prepared before hand with the knowledge for the fight. but know that no one deals with that many options in their head as you see in this, no one can handle that much info, you can easily see that even with 30secs to make your choice it still not enough. what people do is simplify things. if a character has many options when it gets close to you, then you don't let them get close; learn things that can deal with multiple options at once(commonly nicknamed "techs"); force the opponent to play in a way you have knowledge of; ie everything you can to simplify thinbs. there is even a term for it: "mental stack" ie. how many things you can keep in mind at once. you can pretty much simplify fighting games strategy as a battle of mental stacks
I love how you can hear him chatting with you in the background, but your completely ignoring him. In my experience half the fun of this game is the community.been playing for a week now and ive yet to encounter a toxic person. People will joke, laugh, taunt, banter, etc, even give you tips and tutorials mid fight if your struggling. The sportsmanship here has been refreshing.
I'm..I'm not entirely sure what I watched there. The first guy got mercilessly bullied, the second was basically a chunky piñata and I'm not sure if there was a third victim because I had to go sit down and contemplate the high speed insanity that the replays showed. All I know is that I never want to run into Reto in a dark alley, especially if I hear the words 'frame advantage' or 'Ooh, I can do THIS? That's kinda cute'
The fact that it's turn-based is so unique. It gives you time to think about all of your moves and how they would pan out, like in chess which is so cool.
The game is incredibly balanced. Cowboy is easier to learn, so at lower skill levels they seem more powerful, but ninja and wizard can get some busted combos
The balance is pretty good, and the creator is very active so issues that do pop up tend to be fixed quickly. The only real imbalance in the game is that without a tutorial, people who don't understand DI and Free Cancels get stomped by those who do.
@@fromundaman for sure, while the turn based pacing makes it accessible for a different audience than most fighting games, those with an understanding of fighting game mechanics have an edge.
As someone who normally fears fighting games due to my poor skill, having everything in slow motion helps to understand what’s going on. The cowboy seems busted cause it can teleport but all the characters are very well balanced some are just easier to learn than others. My advice is start on the cowboy then branch out from there
This looks and feels a bit like what happens if you throw Street Fighter, Superhot and Yi Xian into a blender. It by all rights shouldn't work, yet it somehow does.
@@allovialuvi Was referring to the "set up abilities in a planning phase to execute in a battle phase" part of the game. Though, the fact you rarely act at exactly the same time makes it a bit of a stretch I'll admit
That last guy was by all means a reincarnation of some sort of final boss from a bullet hell game. Edit: Also, even though you didn't do too well in that fight, there's always comfort in knowing that they probably got the most serotonin and dopamine possible while playing that. They really popped off there.
You just destroyed that man like it was nothing. Comboed him to death. It seems like its true to a general fighting game experience, lol. This character is Chipp with a bit of other characters in the GG series. Amazing concept and obviously a game I will play.
You and Wanderbot should face each other in this game, that would be intresting. Also how good are you in fighting games? Love your vids man, keep up the good work!
This is my favorite fighting game of all time, and seeing Reto play it is amazing. I'd love to see Reto do more multiplayer matches, and maybe try modded characters someday.
This game reminds me of Toribash. I used to play that a ton on my mom's old pc lmao but in your free-time you should check it out! It's pretty interesting because you can create levels to fight on and weapons to fight with as well, like a LittleBigPlanet type vibe. NGL a mini series or series on this would be dope. 🔥
This is great! Definite Toribash vibes like others have said, except the resulting fight actually is a cool animation I would def watch a series of this game!
you're either really good or your enemies were really dumb because they both would do random attacks in midair that would do nothing to you, unless the robot did the laser to make sure he wouldn't hit both caltrops and that's mildly smart until you realize they could of just dodged out of the way when they had that turn due to you putting down the caltrops and losing frame advantage.
I knew you were going to slaughter people LOL You talk about being a Marth main in Smash, so you clearly have some decent background knowledge for fighting games. This was destruction.
Retromation, this is a pretty complex game for how it is. I don't know how much you know this game, but I can give tips if need be as I am very familiar with the game. However, it shouldn't be needed too much if you are learning this fast but regardless, Welcome to YOMI Hustle. You have Yi Xian for the game that takes your life and mind, this game is my horrible addiction XD
This game requires a lot more knowledge and time to get good at. And knowing who you are facing against. Another thing is predicting what they would do. It’s better to be patient than to go in offensive
The wizard is just _really_ good. Retro also wasn't using the cowboy's bread and butter moves and made some blunders that lead to just handing the opponent frame advantage
Okay, this is just confusing as hell. Halfway through the video and still just don’t get it? The UI just confuses me to no end. Seems like a cool concept for a game though. Just left wishing the info ur being given was more parseable
Left side is the moves you can use, the right side will simulate the moves your opponent can do. You choose a move and test to see if beats what you think your opponent is going to do.
actually it was bad mage, i played same way when first time played mage and it only works against new players. i have cool replay where i beat newbie projectile spammer like that one in mirror duel and it felt like my first skill progres in this game. my favorite part is when he sucked me into bunch those electrical balls (xD) and i did got through them and attacked him

The game is massively impressive. You've done great work!!
I've had this idea bot for a full 3d fps. Plan out every move idk. This is amazing

third one almost completely murdered him
The fact that it's turn-based is so unique. It gives you time to think about all of your moves and how they would pan out, like in chess which is so cool.
this game needs to blow up. the things other game can take as inspiration from this, incredible
