My Highness brake pads too have wornout within 4000 kms of usage and service center guys were pushing me to go for replacement. I came home and checked they still had some life. Please share your experience with these breaks in terms of number of kilometers (life span), braking during very wet conditions if you had tried it. thanks for a great video bro.
I have completed around 8k kms on this set and they will last for another 5-6k easily. The braking is lot better than the OE pads for some initial 5-6k kms but as it's getting old, these being Chinese white label product the input Vs feedback on the brakes has changed a bit.. a slight pressure on the lever doesn't give the same retardation as it gave when it was new. You need to really press the lever hard and then it stops with double power 😅. But this is expected from sintered pads as they are mostly meant for track application. Overall satisfactory performance. However, if you want to go for alternative pads, go for Vesrah Ceramic brake pads. These are Japanese pads and lasts around 12-13k kms with great braking feedback. I have installed them in few CBs and are working wonders.
How to maintain the brake system in the rainy season ? I also suffered the same in my Honda highness during the rainy season. And tell me the best brand for break pads
Your videos teach me something new every time... You said Honda claims Brake pad's life to be approx 12k kms, and yours worn out in 8-9k kms, but mine have gone in just 6.5k kms !!! The front lever has gone very light. I have shifted from Mumbai to a small town in Gujarat, and the nearest service centre is 180 kms +/-. Plus there are only 2 CB 350s in the town, and one of them is mine 😀. Will it be okay if I get the break pads and oil + some rubber kit (placed around the front brake lever) locally ? Or should I order it at the service centre ? The service centre guy was really helpful and was ready to courier the parts...
Thanks buddy 😊. The ideal life of brake pads is around 12k, however Honda is providing a sub standard brake pads which is not suitable for wet rainy conditions and gets worm out faster in rains. You can definitely get the pads replaced from some skilled mechanic. Brake fluid will not require top up once you replace the pads as fluid level in the reservoir shows less when pads get work out. I will suggest, going for aftermarket brake pads either from Nikavi or Vesrah as they have longer durability+ better braking efficiency compared to OE pads. It will save you time and money doing the same job again for atleast 12-15k kms.
Raj, today i was riding on rain, after 57km when I applied brake i heard some griding noise from front brake, same grinding sound came for next 4 km till reach home. I thought might be for dirt , my odo showing about 1800km. Seems my braked pad gone, as it was night i have not open the brake but when i touched the dist it was all black , will check tomorrow morning as you said. Now worried if my disk got damaged.
Your video content is really informative. Do you have plans to organize Q&A sessions? I am ready to pay for it and I believe many would agree to pay for the knowledge you have.
Sir by if any chance you fit the honda flyscreen try to make a video if we can fit it ourself or is a difficult task.as the labour cost is more than needed
No buddy..its not a DIY thing and will need skills due to the bracket design. Over that, I thought of buying it once but then thought it's just for asthetics and no real utility at a price of 1900rs.
@@RajkaGarage It does have 2 utility, one to reduce dust seepage under Metre console and another important thing is reduce rain splash over USB C connection area. In past, during most rain rides I have had tough time with this side of connector.. I'm alternatively thinking of packing this charger unit insider headlight dome though not so hopeful of available space for the same..
Yes, Honda has termed it as meter visor which means it's meant for protecting the meter more than any wind deflection on the rider. But at high speeds you definitely feel wind blast by passing most part of your body, atleast for my kind of body frame. Taller riders may get the blast hit on their helmets.
Meri honda hness 350 ka front brake pad khrab higaya hai aur local dealer apr kahain available nhi hai kahan se purchase krskta hu aur kya uski durability tahegi
Now u hav used these brake pads for almost a year, What is ur long term review statement for these NIKAVI GDP09 brake pads? Are they better than the vesra or th stock once?????? Plz suggest me because i m thinking of changing my front brake pads before going on a long ride, which i am planning to do this weekend.
It's been 5k kms. They have certainly better brake bite than the OE pads. The only apprehension is Nikavi pads are white label Chineese products which Nikavi is selling and hence doesn't match what is expected from sintered pads like Brembo or EBCs of the world. I have personally installed Vesrah into few other CBs and found that the bite is even better and will be soon switching to Vesrah.
Sir, Do you recommend going with Vesrah Ceramic brake pads over the OEM ? Thanks for your wonderful content. You enable CB350 owners to truly enjoy our bikes without any doubts.
Yes buddy, you can surely use Vesrah. But check availability as they are out of stock maybe due high demand from CB350 users😅. Else use the OE pads until it monsoon season starts and in between whenever Vesrah is available in stock them for the rainy season. And thanks a lot for your words of appreciation 😊
They don't have rear pads, but you can use Yamaha R15 V1 V2 or Karizma ZMR rear pads. They are same. Karizma ZMR pads are very good on the pocket aswell. Bosch aftermarket comes as 100rs😁
Raj can you kindly measure the rear shock absorbers and let me know the size. I don’t know how to measure it. I’m looking for after market gas charged shock absorbers for replacement. The stock is very hard for me. Thank you.
You can measure the length from the top end bushing of the shock absorber to the bottom end bushing. While trying the gas filled shock absorber please also check if the gas canisters on the replacement shock absorbers are not coming into contact of the frame or any other part of the CB while in movement.
I am planning to replace both my brake pads by myself soon. How do we push the pistons back inside? Do we need any tools or can i do some jugaad at home and push them back easily?
Go for Yamaha R15 V1/V2 brake pads. I am using the white label pads for R15(OE supply) which costs me 350Rs. Also Karizma ZMR rear pads are compatible and in Bosch packing costs only 100rs.
I have used R15 V1/V2 rear for the H'ness in the rear. The OE comes at 899/- and supply ones comes at 350/- i used the supply ones for good 6k kms were performing well.
Bhai, My CB350’s rear disk plate is getting heated up. And i saw some minor scratches on the plate too. I covered only 600KM. Bigwing service told me it’s normal considering the power and weight of the bike. I am not confident about their statement. Pls tell me whether it’s common? Does the rear brake plate heat up too much? Front plate becomes warm but rear plate becomes too hot. I use both the brakes every time. I don’t rest my foot on the liver. Pls reply
Hey Mukund, if you are riding majorly on dusty roads, your brake discs can pick up that dust (even small particles) and leave behind some minor scratches on them. Especially the rear brakes accumulates more dust compared to front one due to tail end turbulence in any moving vehicle (as an example check the condition of your from rim compared to rear rim, you will find the rear ones more dusty). So point number 1, small scratches is absolutely fine as there is raw friction in braking systems. Point number 2, Your rear discs will always heat up more than front due to the smaller diameter of rear discs. Bigger the disc rotor diameter, better the cooling and vice versa. Just to double check, put the vehicle on main stand and in neutral gear rotate the rear wheel. If should rotate freely with minimal efforts. Just keep in mind, the wheels on the H'ness is very heavy and needs slight effort compared to any regular 100-150cc bike with drum brakes and also don't expect the wheel to rotate 5-6 rounds on its own like a drum brakes bike. Hope this helps. Cheers and Happy Riding 🤘
These screeching noises are from small dust particulates. Use a good brake cleaner spray once in 200-300 kms if in dusty conditions or 500-700 if in better conditions.
Hi Sir, My Honda hness front break pads are also creating issues. First i was forced to replace at 1800 kms. Now after another 1000 kms new set of brake pads are also in bad condition. Is this just brake pad issue or is there any issue with synching of my brakepad and disc? Please share your views.
Mine lasted for 9133 kms now I am going to change them they have some material left exactly same as yours dont know which one to go for oe vesrah or this nikavi😢
Raj sir i have a highness and on second service at 3100km was told my front brake pads need to be changed. I told them to keep same one as they still had a lot of life..do you recommend vesrah for longer life..also can you share some trustworthy website where i can buy them..i stay in Mumbai.. Also can you give review of nikavi.. seems very affordable..at 329 for the front and rear brake pads
My front brake fluid level was at the minimum due to the changeable time of break as mentioned by the Honda Showroom service staff men and also in the video therefore in a week's time shall change my brake but for now there is no sign of decreasing brake fluid after downloading to the maximum level and have ridden around 75 km. Does this mean it was only leakage of break fluid. pls do highlighten my knowledge. Thanks
Do you mean you have topped up the brake fluid? If yes, then your brake fluid reservoir will not tell the wear condition of the pads. Brake pad wear level can only be determined by looking at the reservoir if the brake fluid quantity is not added to the original quantity.
@@RajkaGarage Morning and Good Day, Once again thanks for a super speed response for my query. All is good with the Nikiva break pad if so would like to switch to it.
Good morning buddy ☀️. Yes, they are working absolutely great. I have been using them since over 2.5k kms now feel they have a better bite than the stock pads.
Nikavi doesn't have rear compatible pads for the CB350. Other better alternative is Yamaha R15 V1/V2 rear pads. Even they are Nissin and comes at the same cost as CB but have better quality control from Yamaha. Another option is Karizma ZMR rear pads which comes at around Rs 350 for OE and Bosch packing at Rs.100
Since you spoke about the rain factor sir, I wanted to ask whether these tyres set are good in the rain in your opinion and have you done tyre replacement on your bike? I have suffered from lack of grip multiple times on my highness. Also thanks to this video I understood why the braking performance on bike felt really poor compared to my initial usage.
No buddy, MRFs have never been good in wet conditions as they are hard compund rubber. I have not changed mine yet, but will do it as soon as I am able to find a Michelin or a Pirelli in stock. I have been using Michelin since last 2 decades on my RX100 and although they don't last long, they offer better grip in all conditions as they are medium compounds. Will soon post something once I go for the change.
Unfortunately due to various reasons (usage of other bikes, rains, work etc.) my riding got limited and i just crossed 11.5k kms recently. Which means it's been almost 3k kms since I replaced the pads. In their current state, These pads can easily last upto 15-17k kms. My OE set would have also managed 12-13k easily, but i replaced them only to check the performance of sintered pads and they did prove out to be lot better in terms of the bite they offer. Next I am going to try the ceramic pads from Vesrah.
Sir mera Front break pads 3000km main hi wear out ho chuke hai.. ( since I use front break at most of the times) will you Think Nikavi Breakpads can Replace the original once?? Cuz Bigwing showroom is. 250 km away from my place?
Yes Buddy.. you can go for Nikavi GDP09 model. This is compatible with CB350. Other option is to go for Vesrah Ceramic brake pads. There are Japanese pads. Front brake model number is SD 156/2. Nikavi are Chinese white label product but are better than OE pads. I have done 5k kms so far on them.
Great video sir, really informative. Just one doubt. Are ceramic pads compatible with the highness rotors? Do ceramic pads wear them prematurely? My front & rear pads that came with the bike lasted 8000+ kms, but the replacement front pads are almost worn in just 1000 kms. I'm planning to go for Vesrah Ceramic pads, please revert with ur opinion. Thanks.
8000+ kms on the first set is pretty much a good performance by you (and the pads). Regarding your second question, ceramic or even sintered pads have softer material than that of the brake rotors, so will have only minimal impact on the rotors. Regarding Vesrah, to be honest I haven't tried them first hand and neither have gotten any feedback yet on how many KMS they have lasted from anyone yet, but in my opinion they should last for around same 8-9k kms as that's the average life of ABS brake pads. So no harm in trying.
RS and H'ness has the same mechanical parts.. there are no reliable options on Amazon. Instead I would suggest go for Vesrah Ceramic brake pads part no. SD167

Running wise KMS ok hai.. but price thoda jyada lag raha hai. Already 1 year ho gaya hai. Agar insurance renewal due hai toh uska renewal ka alag se 3.5-4k lagega + transfer ke liye 2k kam se kam. So bike ke cost 2L ho jayega. Nayi gadi ka price almost 2.4L hai aur koi waiting period bhi nahi. So mere hisab se 1.8-1.85L thik hai else budget ko thoda aur strech karke showroom se apne hath se ribbon cut karke apni nayi gadi Lena jyada thik rahega.
I have done 5k+ so far. The brake bite is definitely better than OE pads, but after the initial period, the brake input requirement has changed.. will soon cover in some video and explain. In terms of longevity, it will sure last 15-16k kms.
The original brakes were really poor performance wise. Jerky, spongy, wore out after 7k kms. And all my riding is in the city. I think rain just aggravated its decline.
These OE brake pads from Honda are a known pain, which the company is not accepting. If they are wearing out so fast, get behind the service center and ask them to replace under warranty.
400 kns is too paltry .Honda is just looting the customer as it's almost monopoly spare . Lot of pad manufactures should cash in and manufacture pads for highness . 850 / wheel is too high .Break pads should last 15000 km easily

For rear you can go for Yamaha R15 V1 V2 or Vesrah brake pads which are ceramic pads.
Hi good video
Can you share the video of back brake play adjustment
Sure will do soon..
Also try ceramic brajes, glad that hondas aftermarket is booming
Very very informative vdo brother.. Keep up d good work..

I am late to your channel. It's really great video. Could you also make video on how to manage or reduce wobbling issues after 80-90km/hr
His channel already contains super deep dive investigation on that topic, pls subscribe and check same
Your videos teach me something new every time...
Mine only 5600
Sir could you please provide the link for vesrah ceramic brake pads for hness 350..
Any update on what it was?
Sir what model of veshra is suitable for 350 rs front brakes
You can use Vesrah SD156/2 for front and SD167 for rear. H'ness and RS are mechanically identical.
Thankyou sir
Sir,
Do you recommend going with Vesrah Ceramic brake pads over the OEM ?
Thanks for your wonderful content. You enable CB350 owners to truly enjoy our bikes without any doubts.
Yes buddy, you can surely use Vesrah. But check availability as they are out of stock maybe due high demand from CB350 users😅. Else use the OE pads until it monsoon season starts and in between whenever Vesrah is available in stock them for the rainy season.

Any suggestions for the rear brake for this rainy season...
Go for Yamaha R15 V1/V2 brake pads. I am using the white label pads for R15(OE supply) which costs me 350Rs. Also Karizma ZMR rear pads are compatible and in Bosch packing costs only 100rs.
Are these pads sintered or ceramic and how much does this cost?
My question is what company break pads are provided by honda service?
Could you please check Ray zr front brake pad suitable for highness rear cost 340.
Yamaha Fzs v3 front brake pad suitable for highness front cost 200.
@@RajkaGarage thanks bhai. Wheel moves smoothly without much effort. But some times makes kiiii kind of a noise
These screeching noises are from small dust particulates. Use a good brake cleaner spray once in 200-300 kms if in dusty conditions or 500-700 if in better conditions.
@@RajkaGarage thanks a lot bhai. Very useful suggestion.

My Honda hness front break pads are also creating issues. First i was forced to replace at 1800 kms. Now after another 1000 kms new set of brake pads are also in bad condition. Is this just brake pad issue or is there any issue with synching of my brakepad and disc? Please share your views.

@@RajkaGarage 👍
What Nikavi brake pads will be compatible for the rear brakes on a Honda Highness CB350?
Thank you for your earlier response.
@@RajkaGarage thank you sir, looking forward to more information regarding it 😄
@@RajkaGarage Hi Sir. If you replace the tyre and if it is good enough, kindly let us know
Raj Sir how long the nikavi lasted, i hope you completed more than 15000km + since it has been 9 months You've uploaded this video

Nikavi are Chinese white label product but are better than OE pads. I have done 5k kms so far on them.
@@RajkaGarage ok Thank you SM sir
If i install from outside is it broken warranty

Running wise KMS ok hai.. but price thoda jyada lag raha hai. Already 1 year ho gaya hai. Agar insurance renewal due hai toh uska renewal ka alag se 3.5-4k lagega + transfer ke liye 2k kam se kam. So bike ke cost 2L ho jayega. Nayi gadi ka price almost 2.4L hai aur koi waiting period bhi nahi.
