Why exactly is he an idiot? He rebounded from his insane ex (their marriage wouldn’t have worked out anyway) with her friend and got some immediately. Weird of OP to hook up so easily. Mindy is really manipulative and a bad friend. To both OP and to Julie. Very fake of her. Hope this is a lesson to Julie on how to handle her emotions better and to communicate her feelings more effectively. Glad they could both work it out. Everyone seem to have some responsibility but in the end the truth always comes out.

I don’t understand how OP’s an idiot in the end. Yeah, he should’ve took time to heal instead of jumping into bed with another woman, but he was also manipulated. Not only that, but he firmly believed they done… for good. The way he himself is making it seem like it’s all his fault really makes me think Julie herself is also manipulating him. Julie already had doubts about their relationship, & Mindy just amplified those doubts by agreeing with everything she was saying (as friends do). At the end of the day, it all started with Julie. Julie was already doubts/2nd guessing their relationship, so I don’t understand how it’s just Mindy’s fault. I just find it interesting that OP is just ignoring the fact so he can see his partner in rose color glasses.
He's an idiot because he did everything except communicate with Julie. Then, two weeks after a breakup, he couldn't keep his D in his pants. Sure, he was manipulated, but this guy has the emotional awareness of a potato.

In this story, I felt that mindy was manipulative, Op was an idiot and the gf was someone who had mental issues but the reconcaliation felt so good as it felt like actual adults talking their troubles and helping each other to solve it
Julie couldn't fathom that maybe he was manipulated either. She brought this on herself and then threw a fit when it blew up.
Really weird how the op could have sex with Mindy right after the break up but in glad they talked and worked it all out. I hope that they both learned to communicate with each other more. Ops gf had valid concerns but she should had talked to the op about them instead of going JUST to the friend.

We all have some thoughts but that’s when our friend come in picture. Out real friends suppose to help us get through that. My bestie has helped me see things clearly many times. It’s normal to have doubts about getting married.
