A major turning point occurred when Rita passed away. As the protagonist planned to fulfill Rita's final wish of burying her ashes, Lina lashed out, complaining about the timing being close to the wedding. This insensitivity towards Rita's death and the protagonist's grief led to a heated argument. Lina's hurtful comments about Rita not being "real family" pushed the protagonist to her limit.

Is everyone in this family just accepting this rude awful Lena out of pity? Is like "she talks shit about us, does not respect our boundaries, criticizes everything we do, but she wants a family tho", did she just insert herself in your lives out of guilt? Like a homeless invading your home/living room telling you "I always wanted a roof over my head" and you just let it happen like out of pity?
It sounds like it was a lot of little things that they didn't know happened to each other until they all got together to talk about it and learned that it wasn't "just the one thing." Like OP said, it can be hard to handle bad situations when you've never been in them before and the brother wouldn't listen and stayed with Lena even after the family put their foot(feet?) down, so there wasn't much they could do either way. Plus OP said that when their cousin tried to argue with Lena and say what she was doing was wrong Lena threw a fit.

Lena is playing a dangerous game. She is trying to remove op from the family and insert herself by trying to get the family to turn against her. I also think there is a degree of jealousy.
I've read a lot of manga and webtoon comic with this type of plot. But then again reality can be as strange as fantasy.

Personally, I think the fam's biggest mistake was enabling Lena's behavior. The moment they let her get away with the boundary stomping, the toungue in cheek comments, was the moment she dug her claws in deep.
I also sort of have no sympathy for OP's brother. He chose to continue with the marriage despite the reservation of his ENTIRE family, and even got mad when OP tried to hold Lena accountable! I definitely don't think he should be stuck in a toxic relationship, no, because it isn't a crime to hope that someone will change after marriage.
I suppose the only saving grace is his inability to have children. And, if he did get out of that horrid relationship, I hope he takes time to himself; therapy, some R&R in the form of a vacation of sorts. Poor guy.
Tbh, the first and second post does sound like op family is treated like a doormat. Its not until the third and final post that we knew how bad the situation and how op cant just easily fix it before its too late. I too, also thought that the family provide for lina behaviour and it making her even more worse

Lena has narcissistic tendencies, and she succeeded in isolating the brother from the rest of the family
I feel bad for lena, but at the same time..girl go to therapy!!! I have one family member whos an addict and it was not easy. I feel like something bad happened to lena...but it does not excuse her actions ofc.
