You need to turn Trim all the way on until the red light does not shine, otherwise you will not get the sound of the tubes from the preamp, which is so important with these amplifiers. Mr. Robert Gallien explains it nicely on their YT channel in a demo of these amps. You should have at least read the instructions before recording a video for something so sophisticated and not just ''play with the lights''. The Bass Channel made the same mistake, which they corrected with a new video. Would be great to do the proper demo of Fusion again!

I feel like a "Can @Cici Bass comfortably carry it?" test might be a good thing to include in videos going forward. So enjoying the whole Andertons team these days - everyone seems so wholesome and wonderful, with so many good combinations of personnel. Lovely work, Captain, or whoever's making the staffing decisions (which would probably still be indirectly the Captain, I suppose). Oh, and "the thing" is emphatically "liked."

When I was just starting out I saw Duff and Flea played GKs and as soon as I could afford it I got a 400RB and eventually a MB500 which is so much tone and power in such a small package. GK heads are just consistent and sound great. Really cool to see what GK has designed since I last took a look at the range. GK has always been synonymous with very present and focused tone without losing too much bottom end

800-RB going through 15" speakers using a J-bass with a pick and a Rat pedal is responsible for 2 of the most superior bass tones in history:
Jesus Lizard's David Wm Sims (see Monkey Trick, Then Comes Dudley, or anything else off Goat)
Johnboy's Tony Bice (see Chair, Short Stack, etc)
The Legacy you can tell has a GK feel to it. It doesn't quite have the same chunky punch of the real old school 800-RB though.

Great intro riff guys killin it! I'm mainly a guitar player, I own a thunderbird but just play simple basslines with it. Really interesting to see what happens when you throw two bass players in a jam and don't just restrict them to holding down the song and keeping the band together.
Not normally into the lower end of the spectrum more than a tool to fatten up songs (mainly because it's really difficult and I'm bad) but just the passion you guys have makes me interested! Well done guys!

Every few years I'll go and buy another bass amp - tube, tube/solid state, digital. Combos and heads/cabs. I always go the store having watched video reviews of all brands. I always come home with Traynor gear. Canadian made, with origins and history similar to Marshall - started by single amp repair/designer Pete Traynor. Many innovations from this company, including virtual invention of the PA system. Andertons should take a look at stocking them!

In addition to their meticulous quality control, one of the reasons the pros use them is GK's class H power amplifier designs react more quickly to input so they feel more "crisp". (Tube amps are pretty much the opposite of that...)
Bob Gallien was a signal electronics engineer for HP before he started designing solid-state amps.
Which is why I sold my cheap Ampeg...

I avoided GK when I was looking to buy my first big, powerful bass amp because I wanted a bit of grit, so I went Ampeg Portaflex. I switched last year to Quilter (which is the cleanest of cleans) because I own two Darkglass drive pedals and that gives me enough drive...and now here I am sitting, thinking I should've just gone with a G&K and it would've avoided me to spend money "upgrading" (because my PF-500 circuitboard fried).

The First great bass player I ever saw live had a GK 800RB I just remember being blown away by how deep yet present his jazz bass sounded, This was in a small bar type of environment. It was the first time that I realized that Bass is a "Musical" instrument with its own voice and role to play. Not as I was so informed "the bass player is the guy that wants to be in a band that couldn't hang on guitar." I grew so much as a player... Never forgot that GK tone.
    Ive had:
    Fender (80's BXR Combo)-
Peavey (Combo and heads including TNT MarkVIII and Megabass)
Ampeg Kick back style combo (Never owned a a tube one)
SWR Super Red Head Hated this for live use never recorded with it. This is not a fair use for this Combo as Its really a recording tool...and a Workingmans 15 Combo coolish amp I didnt get along with SWR's at all which broke my heart because I am a HUGE Marcus Miller Fan
Hartke HA 5000 and 4X10XL Cab & Kick back 15 combo
Trace Elliot Early 90's GPX SM-12 I think was the model of that head.
but I stopped searching for Amps when I got my GK its just "the Sound".
My Mesa Engineering M-9 Carbine is the only thing that's come close without being a GK

the DI output sounds hissy and .. bad. Better to have it than not have it but thats my only criticism. I'm very interested in downsizing to the Legacy 115 combo. good to see that "pro" combo amps are making a comeback. They used to be more available in the early 2000s and then seemed like they stopped making them relegating combo amps to just practice amps but 400w single 15 and power to drive an extension cab for 800w total output is awesome!
