From Ashes to New is the revolution of Nu Metal for a new generation. I was a teen in the '90s growing up on Rage Against the Machine and Korn, so I can totally appreciate them bringin' it back. They are 1 of the few new bands that get heavy rotation in my mixes, especially when I'm working. I know a few people that love it in their workout playlists.🤘
I remember the first time I ever heard this was on the primitive radio in my dad's truck and I REALLY wanted to know what it was, so I was listening closely for lyrics to search for... and then an Emergency Broadcast thing played and cut the song off. I thought I was just gonna have to wait til it came on again (which could've just never happened) but the *beep. beep. beep* ended right as it got to that last chorus where the lyrics are totally clear, so I was able to get home and look that up. Good memory!
Seen From Ashes to New live a couple times they're great. They always talk about how Linkin Park was a huge inspiration, and they really pivoted to their style after Chester passed which I thought was kinda sus tbh, but they're a good band so I forgive them. They always play a mashup of Heavy and Papercut on their live shows in honor of Chester. They've got a lot of bangers. So I'm hopeful for their future.
