There are actually changes on the DVD. Compared to the theatrical release, the DVD has an extended podrace sequence and an extra scene of flying around Coruscant after they first land after Tatooine.
I'll never forget Rocco talking about watching this in theaters with his family and when it got to the Gungan city part, Rocco's dad just says aloud "this is a cartoon" because of all the CGI lol.
He's going to watch it with other people? Yall are just going to be shitting on the movie the whole time. I don't think he's going to even have a chance to get a small amount of enjoyment from them.
I saw Phantom Menace in a double feature at the drive in with Armageddon. I tell you as a younger child at the time, it was quite a trip getting through that before getting to see the star war. Stopped at the walmart and picked up the Darth Maul Speeder Bike playset after, so it was a pretty baller day overall.
Have fun watching these for the first time! Looking back, these movies have brought my friends and I so much joy and entertainment, lots of memorable moments and quotes. Are they perfect? fuck no. but by modern blockbuster standards, not bad.
If Kevin really wanted to be disappointed like in theaters, and I can't believe I know this, technically the DVD version is not the theatrical cut either. There's a few modified scenes and it was an early DVD and had some bad color correction. Many scenes have a pink tint they shouldn't have. The only releases of the theatrical cut are VHS and laserdisc.
IMo the lightsaber battles in the prequels are wayyy to choreographed, the original trilogy and new trilogy feel way more natural when it comes to how the battles look
okm58 I agree but I think the choreography fit the prequels- it was the prime of the Jedi and their movements were like ballet. Wouldn’t fit any of the other movies but I thought it fit there.
if Kevin liked the Last Jedi then i dont see any reason he wouldnt like the prequels. At least the prequels feel inspired and not just a rehash of the OT
I saw in theaters and my friend had the dvd.. Haven't seen since. Refused. The Princess' makeup made me laugh and cringe. Obi One is sweet... That Darth Maul fight is also awesome. Everything else sucks! "Are you an angel?" Gag me...
Seriously. The space samurai/feudal aesthetic and themes are seriously cool. It just had a tone problem and some pacing/plothole issues but I genuinely think they got some good things going
I genuinely liked Last Jedi when I saw it in theatres. Didn't care much for Admiral Holdo's hair, but that was more a political thing infecting my opinion so I tried to ignore it. But now that I'm thinking about it again, was she the only human character in all of movie Star Wars with a hair colour not occurring in nature? It seemed like she's the only human who dyed her hair an unnatural colour in that and that makes it feel like some kind of statement I'm not understanding, but she looks too old for that kind of behaviour, and it just seems odd.
@@HY-dd6sc Alt-righters got under my skin at the time. Couldn't escape RUclips essays that basically said "blue, green, and purple hair are signs of extremist ideologies in women" and even if I didn't agree with that, it stuck in the back of my mind. That's why I tried to dismiss it. Brought it back up because Rocco's "complete cinematic failure" reference had the video thumbnail of that character rolling her eyes. I didn't watch the video because I felt my enjoyment of the movie was good enough for me and didn't need to be "corrected" by some essayist who may or may not have some agenda. But I kept getting recommended that video, seeing that thumbnail, so it stuck. In a weird way, something as minor as that became emblematic. But I'll defend Luke's scene moving away from Rey until I die. That was perfect, milk and all.
@@HonestlyJustSomeGuy Yeah its pretty wild how fucked up your groupthink perceptions of race and political groups can get if you watch alt-right youtube, which basically categorizes people at appearance and says those people are equivalent to general ideas. It's the same methodology hitler did to make people hate jews, same thing that has caused racism since forever. Taking appearance as equal to some thought of what people are like.

I expect the next video in like 2 hours, I'll be up
they're still waiting for starwars.com to load up on their windows 95 machine

Everyone else is already doing it son.
TLJ is so good that it made a third less than its predecessor and caused the next movie to be first SW movie to lose movie. So good!!
yeah it lost movie, they had a whole one filmed and they lost it
I see that Police Story 1 & 2 criterion set and I appreciate the fact that Rocco has a great taste in foreign action films.
Anyone else hear his Linkara impression whenever reading a title?
There's always a bigger fish
Has Kevin seen the Christmas Special? Now THAT is a masterpiece.
i legitimately kind of like the Life Day special. it's actually really easy to tell what the wookie family is doin

I brought that up during the movie hahahhaaha
the closed captions are hilarious
Is this the prequel to Kevin being turned into a cardboardnite statue
I'm gonna need many follow ups on this.
Are we going to get Galaxy's Edge content in the same vein as Boysenberry Fest
I don’t think I’m gonna film much my first visit. I wanna soak it all in myself. But when I go back I’ll record stuff maybe
excited for part 2
I'm also rewatching all of the movies before Galaxy's Edge lol
Also, I agree with another commenter, record yourselves doing commentary!!
Kevin hasn't seen the prequels? Is this a joke? Is this a joke you have to ask me?
Bart Simpson: You can actually pinpoint the second when his heart rips in half.
mr ryan licked the disk so its broken. he probably let out a gross ass fart and cleared the room for at least 6 hours
Looking good Rocco!
Rocco I'd love an hour+ video of your opinion about the last jedi, I know im not the only one
Only if it's gonna be a video
What's with the bent coat hanger
I call bullshit on Kevin, he's seen 'em all, I tell ya
