    I first heard Led Zeppelin when I was 12 in 1972. This song when I was 15. Both life altering experiences.
    I was a young musician taking lessons since 1965.
    What a time to grow up in. Just the musical changes through the 1960's and 1970's. It all happened so fast, it was impossible to keep up. So much creativity, originality, and heart before big biz took over by the end of the 90's when the music died.
    I still haven't listened to all the music that I'd like to hear from those decades, there's so much good stuff.

    This album was Number one on the charts the week I graduated from high school in 1975. The whole album is fire! We cranked it up on giant stereo speakers and played it from vinyl. I still prefer to listen to it that way.

    • @Andy_Tunereviews84
      @Andy_Tunereviews84  Год назад +3

      Sounds like a blast! I know what you mean about vinyl. I used to play my dad's vinyl to bits when I was a kid. There's something about it that was almost like a ritual. Looking at the artwork on the covers and inserts, taking out the record, placing it on the turntable and delicately putting the needle on the edge of the record. Then the crackling noise would start, and you're good to go👍

    Zeppelin is extremely diverse. They did many types of music and they did them all very well. They loved to blend that other type of music into a rock format and create something new. This is probably their second most popular song. They had only been around 6 years when they made this but it is one of their later ones. I think it's their best album.
    Puff Daddy did a remake of this song with Jimmy Page called "Come with me" on the Godzilla Sound Track.

      That's it! I just replied to someone who mentioned P. Diddy sampled it and i remember it being from a movie soundtrack.👍

    a shame for me that you are doing random tracks from different stages of the development mixed in with lives. The journey of discovery, understanding how the group developed and how the style changed is the interesting part of LZ reactions.
    Without context its just some dude listening to songs. You do you son but its not what I want to see.

      No worries👍. I just want to get a better feel before committing fully. But, if i'm honest, the fact that this sounded so different to the other reactions which i've done from their earlier albums has made me want to do the full albums in chronological order. So i'm probably just going to react to whatever wins the poll tomorrow then do the albums.
      I'm a huge Beatles fan and i say the same thing to people about them. Listening to their progress from Rock 'n' Roll covers early on, to the sounds in Rubber Soul, Revolver and into Sgt. Peppers and beyond is great. And all in less than 10 years👍🎸✌️

    Kind of funny, the recorded version is the worst version of this song. Watch any of their live versions to know what i mean :)

      @@Andy_Tunereviews84 sorry for the late reply, i've been out of town for a while and catching up on work. The versions i'd recommend are as follows, the 1979 live at knebworth (my favorite) ruclips.net/video/hW_WLxseq0o/видео.html and the 2010 version with Jason on drums, celebration day ruclips.net/video/PD-MdiUm1_Y/видео.html

    Riff used in the P Diddy track "Come With Me", used in the "Godzilla" movie soundtrack.
    Was probably released as "ft. Jimmy Page", as he also appeared in the music video.
