    I lived for 17 years in Vietnam before moving overseas, even with the growing number of countries in almost every continent I've been to, nothing can compare to home. Watching you guys walk through those streets, eating the same street food I used to eat as a kid wearing flip flops and boxers with an oversized dirty tank top definitely brings back some emotions. I'm glad you both could experience my homeland and know that the people will always welcome you with open hand, I know I would have. Just a tip, learn to ride a moped and drive the Ha Giang Loop, you will thank me later. ( Thanks for introducing me to the Salkantay Trek, I loved it ).

      😊 thanks so much for watching along our videos! We love that you had a good time on Salkantay! We need to learn to ride a bike for so maybe reasons and the ha giang loop is definitely the main one 😄

      @@JordanandEmily what are some things I should be aware of in living there? Do you know if you need a Vietnamese driver’s license to own a scooter motorcycle?

      Where abouts are you thinking of living? Its a big country!
      As far is the drivers license goes - we haven't hired or owned one ever so can't be too much help there but would recommend searching on google or reaching out to some dealerships for up to date info!

    Enjoyed your video guys! I might have mentioned before. I moved here a year ago in October. Got married in Dec. last year. I still don’t know how to ride a motorbike. It’s a little intimidating to me. I’ll get there eventually. my wife Mai and her son Khoi will get tired of hauling a 6 ft 150lbs American around lol. All y’all’s videos are top notch. Y’all work great together. The landmark I need to climb. Haven’t been there yet. I enjoy my life here. Still learning a lot at 60. Glad y’all enjoy Vietnam so much to come back again! Thanks for sharing 😎

    Instead of yogurt coffee you should’ve tried the salted coffee. You guys literally walked right past my house when you guys went to go buy your sandwich next to the fruit stand which don’t ever buy a drink there it’s a rip off. The Banh Mi shop across from the fruit stand is one of the best roasted pork Banh Mi only people from that area would know.

    1:01:01 I’m a Vietnamese, maybe you should come back one more time to travel as you can see our main transportation is motorbike. With a motorbike you can reach various places that are hidden gems for locals only (cloud hunting at Da Lat for example). Try it out!!

    Such a shame that you couldn't experience the luxurious train cabin you booked. I walked past a similar one on the train I took a few months ago and it dead ass looked like a mini hotel room. Hope you get a chance to be in one once you go back to Vietnam for the 3rd time, which I think you eventually will.

    Fantastic video! I have a question about the daily cash amount we should budget for. We’ll be traveling to nearly the same places in January, and it looks like our tastes and budget are quite similar. Additionally, any advice on where to get cash upon arriving in Hanoi would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot for your help!

    • @JordanandEmily
      @JordanandEmily  Месяц назад +1

      We always aim for $100 AUD per day for us both! In Vietnam as a whole we were on about $85 AUD per day! I can't quite remember where we got cash out in Hanoi but when you find one ATM there's usually a few there and one should work! We've got a Vietnam travel guide video coming out on Tuesday with loads more info!

      @@JordanandEmily Thank you for taking the time! I'm curious though about how much of this budget you carried in cash to ensure we withdraw just the right amount. Coming from Canada, we're not used to using bills and coins much anymore, and we've heard that credit card use is limited there. By the way, we're visiting Thailand and Vietnam, and your videos have been a true inspiration for us. Can't wait for the Tuesday video! 😊

    • @JordanandEmily
      @JordanandEmily  Месяц назад

      @cathrach9576 oh fantastic, we're really glad they have helped 😊 the ATM withdrawal fees in Vietnam were nothing like Thailand, we didn't carry much cash at all and you'll see on Tuesday that there actually is a surprising amount of places to just use your bank card! We used our Australian card for lots! You would just need to make sure you don't get international fees from your bank, not really sure how many US banks do that!

      Ive Just returned from a 3 wk holiday in Vietnam. Da Nang is a nice city, most expats head to MyKhe beach. If you want the beach view then yes. Although it is like 10km north to south. Make sure you find the right area. The downside we found was between the beach and the cbd there is nearly nothing. So decide if you want to be beside beach or around the abundance of things to see and do.

      Thanks so much Chris! We actually have another Vietnam video coming out early next week where we talk about Vietnam in detail + each region we visited! Da Nang is awesome and a big choice by a lot of people wanting to work for a while in Vietnam but it's one of the few places we haven't spent much time in at all! Haha we've heard great things though!
