So-my wife saw your review - and we’re buying one tomorrow. Thank you !!! Thank you Out of Spec because of your reviews this is our 6th EV !!! Trading in our Tesla 23 ModelY for the Buzz. R1S and I’d Buzz !!!! Family:)) Your reviews are so imperative to us!! Thank you Out of Spec family and doggies!!!!!!!!! Thank you for all your reviews. We’ve purchased EQS 450 RWD Sedan, BMW i3, EQS 450 + SUV, R1S, Model Y and Model X based on your reviews. Thank you.
The id Buzz is by far the most feel good ev. When I sat in it in Munich I just kept smiling thinking to myself in this car the holiday starts with the departure. And every trip to the groceries is a short holiday.
The removable central console on the six seat version at least can be moved and positioned in the second row. As a parent I can imagine that being handy for storing things to entertain the kids/snacks, also for adult passengers on longer trips where they can share things out between all three rows
Great video!!!! We have a 2025 R1S and trading in our Model Y for the Buzz in Mahi Green. The Buzz will be primarily the kids and dog hauler-especially with the sliding doors. Can’t wait to see more videos about the Buzz. We are super excited !!!! 43 and 47 year old parents:)))
As a VW bus fan having driven several over the years (T2-T4-T5) I really would like to make the new Buzz work for us. We have 34k miles EV experience with our ID4 and charging almost exclusively at home and now we see the relatively low battery capacity of the buzz (sadly) as a deal breaker. Two weeks ago I did a test ride in the IDbuzz and I really liked it. Actually almost everything, but not the range. This is an ideal car for a road trip with family, but with only 235 miles range, under optimal conditions and not too fast, road tripping is almost not possible in a reasonable way. In Europe and especially in Germany where distances are significantly shorter and the charger grid is much tighter and in better shape it would be very different. Here even driving around in urban environments can be challenging with charging at times, not talking about going in less dense populated areas. To us it feels that the amount of electric cars in increasing at a faster pace then the charging infrastructure is growing. Currently we keep an ICE car for road trips. I would buy the IDbuzz with a solid 300 miles range, not questions ask, but that is probably not what we will get in the near future, sadly.
Being British, we’ve had these around for quite a bit longer. To be honest, I think we all expected more from VW for this model. We are had visions of 60s lifestyle, Scooby Doo and Surfer Dude image. Instead we were given a car that reeks of nappysan and football Moms. If it had been Chinese it would have been so much more.
No heat pump? Come on. It’s 16 degrees right now on Long Island. I couldn’t even charge my Tesla today that was sitting outside last night until it warmed the battery.
You guys do great reviews but probably don’t surf. The iconic VW bus was the ultimate surf mobile. The ID Buzz has a removable center console to allow surfboards/longboards to slide through and not interrupt visibility while driving. I think it’s a great feature and nice to have the removable option for surfboards.
I would love to do a ID Buzz campervan to replace my hightop full size van and travel with my service dog & other dog. It needs to have a larger battery bank, dog mode, camp mode & be able to charge on the Tesla supercharging system.
I love the look of these things, and the seating room is great. It's just so damn expensive, and the range is just bad. :( I still want one though. Also, I do agree that the center console and front cupholders are both poorly thought-out.
That thing looks amazing for an electric vehicle. Coll references from the original VW Bus design. How much do these machines cost? No doubt they will be popular where I live in Colorado. Coloradans are in love with their electric vehicles for some reason. Three vehicles shine here in the Mountain State. JEEP, Subaru of any type, and finally anything ELECTRIC! It's pretty much all you see our on roadways here!
1st Editions in Canada comes standard with a manual retractable hitch and heat pump. Unfortunately Canada does not get Home Link on the rear view mirror.
I wish the NA market had the same fun EU light interior colors that match the exterior two-tone colors. We need more than dune/clay, like dune/blue,yellow,green. VW can you offer those interior trims next go around?
I've noticed anytime a competitor to a particular EV is mentioned, it's another EV. So, in the EV world a minivan is a competitor to an SUV. However, in the ICE world an Odyssey would be compared to a Pacifica, not a Durango. Why don't automotive reviewers do comparison tests of a EV9 to an Explorer or an Odyssey to a ID Buzz? Are buyers only comparing EV to EV when shopping? I think as a car for everyday driving, an EV is better than an ICE vehicle. However, both manufacturers and reviewers are so focused on the "EV stuff" and tech, I think that contributes to people's resistance to considering an EV. What if you had a comparison test of mid-size sedans that included a Model 3 and compared performance, ride comfort, features, practicality, fit and finish...all the things a typical car review would. Let's mainstream EVs and starting treating them as cars first.
It looks good and has a lot of clever use of space inside. Perhaps a bigger battery would be nice. I saw a lot of positive reviews and talked to an owner 1/2 year ago. He was very satisfied. Not cheap like the original VW Bus but this time has gone. Looking for cheap cars, China seems to be the place today, not Germany. Owning an VW ID car (the 3 you do not get in the US i think.) i got used to the 3 window buttons very soon. So i do prefer 4 buttons, but not a big deal for me after a short time.
44:22 I wonder how difficult is it to remove the 2nd row seats for wheelchair accessibility. ♿️ Also, how wide is the passenger side sliding door opening when the charge port door is open. I need 30 inches to accommodate a wheelchair ramp.
I wish they would have built that at our chattanooga plant, thats been shut down for weeks , and will continue to be so. Its already set up for electeic builds.
Honestly for me I would take this over the E-GMP 7 passenger crossovers. Yes they got the range and charging capacity. But they’re not as cool as this. If taking this to the cars and coffee, you’ll be catching looks. I would think at this point maybe VW is working on a solution for the driving range to make it perfect for the next MY if not refresh. The EV9/Ioniq9 yes they’re large. But me as 6’4” that third row I can barely fit. The ID Buz? I fit comfortably as the third row slides back and forth.
Guy's, I disagree with you on the removable center !!! For one, going from front to back when you have kids is awesome !!! We had the toyota van, but it didn't really have a name, so I called it the van from lost in space. We halled soccer teams, and getting to the back with young kids was essential without stopping. This is basically utilitarian, which with kids is awesome. Horrible range, but love that color combo !!! And man, so much room. If I had a young family and if the range was a lot better, I'd get one !!! But I think the carnival or the ev9 and ionic 9 will sell better.
Did Kyle say it comes with its own VW branded charger? Or was that just the charger cable? I have one on order (my first EV). Just wondering what I need to install in my garage to charge it. What charger do you guys recommend?
As a decade driver of the T-Model, I ordered my ID.Buzz recently. To be honest, my colorway is simple silver/grey with a lot of extras for a of 69900€. And automatic doors, glass roof, 3. seat row any many more things are missing. And in Germany we even don’t have the illuminated VW logo which is a shame for Volkswagen. If it wasn’t becoming my business car I never would have bought it. I drove the car a couple of times and, yes ibis fun. But it will never reach the ceiling of a T-Modell Multivan! None the less I am curious for the new car although I find it is ridiculous expensive with such a short mile range. And finally your video is nothing special. There are thousands of simple ad-videos promoting this beautiful car. So I decided to document my use of the car as soon as I get mine to help other for a non ad-financed auto show that says nothing about range and daily use experience ✌🏼🤗
Love the mini vans, this one looks like fun, but VW missed all the checkboxes for me, and they say no Westy version coming? It's a pass for me. I do hope some people buy it, it would be fun to see on the road. VW isn't making bad looking vehicles, they just screw up all the details. This is a new vehicle so why wasn't it 800v and some of the new tech? I don't think VW listens to customer at all. Not at all.
VW is known for their build quality. Nothing be a surprise here. Like most german cars. The stock rim grew on me. But the grey aero rim like in Europe are also fine.
I have one of these in the UK (lease - the purchase price is ridiculous), the build quality is worse than any car I've owned since the 90's. Creaks and rattles from new, door trims that vibrate and make cracking sounds if you bump them. Driving over a course surfaced road is like I've got a box of Lego behind the dash.
If you watch the video… We clearly state it is a car directly from a dealership a customer can walk in and purchase. So no… not “a handpicked factory owned demo”
Guys don't cancel your order as I want to see long road trip data..I really like this product..
Nice try, VW USA
As a lifelong VW owner, the hype died for me as soon as I learned the MSRP. $70k for any car is crazy.

Should be a Tesla with LFP...Buzz uses NMC...no issue to charge even it is cold.
To be honest, I am happy the rear logo doesn't light up red. It's one pet peeve I have seeing the ID4 on the road.

Aren’t those supposed to go on the roof?
@@OutofSpecDetailing typically yes, but if no roof racks the slide in is the go to method to hit the beach.
I'm going to put swivel mounts on my front seats when I get it. The removable centre console makes it more convenient

German engineering. 🎉

Road trip it to So Cal...
Road trip hell video. Buzz, BZ4X and Leaf at 85 mph.

From what I've read, its just a matter of some basic tools to remove the second row.
Great range... if you live on Gilligan's island
Where is the US ID Buzz built?

@@TAD-9 no its built in Germany

at this time, it is built in Germany
Is it old people nostalgia for the VW Bus or the price point that boxes out new families from affording it?
VW, excellent German door thunk. Solid.

16:54 The tailgate is intentionally lower than the roof.
I reserved my vw style 86kw for march 2025. £70k to pay in 5 years . It cost £64.345 in cash
Removable center console is another thing making a minivan - a practical minivan

the vw buzz just blows the ev9 no comparison
In what reality lol

Actually the BMW I3 had the best wood honestly in my opinion
Cool!

The third row when folded looks unfinished and the false floor shelf behind it to make it all a bit flatter is amateur at best.

The words Quality and Volkswagon never belong together. It’s just not possible.
Quality? Talk to me in 20 years and 300,000 miles.
Who own that car? Did VW supply it?

@rockshox71 So not a production vehicle from an actual customer? A hand picked factory owned demo. Cheers.

#VWIDbuzz German made junk low range battery operating system old technology overpriced #KIAEV9 cheaper
When you need to prop up multiple empty factories that are not needed you end up with overpriced vehicles with low specs.

I think if tesla builds this car its 40k or less, 420 in range, FSD included, awd. Oh and they won't be going out of business in 2027 😂
And like the cyberturd it won't make it out of the parking lot without breaking down
$72k for an electric minivan 😂
Crazy 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Gruß aus Deutschland. Kauft lieber Tesla.
