Nice overhaul, I pretty much did exactly the same on my Laotie ES18 when I got it couple years ago. Rear suspension comes without grease from stock, so it's pretty much only a spring, when you add grease it definitely adds some rebound and improves the ride! Also adding the nylon washers on both pivot points makes it smoother. But over time and many miles the stock suspension will give out, it snapped just above the compression ring after like 10k miles. I am a heavy user tho, currently at 20k miles on it (doing food deliveries). Regular user probably has nothing to worry about for years to come 🙂
Thanks man I really appreciate you documenting that whole thing . Just got my new dual shocks for my es 19 and I'm procrastinating putting them on there because I know the second I pull those bolts I'm going to replace most of it with modern oiled steel spacers, any of the bolts or nuts made with that bullshit Chinese aluminum, might as well replace it now right? Lol your painting turned out super nice for not doing a heavy prep job. I think the Tractor Supply is a great place to go for the upgraded nuts bolts those axles and definitely those spacers. You could probably build a brand new rear Fork in the store hahaha but yeah it looks cleaner and more sleek
I'm looking to replace the rear shock to an air one. Is the size for the rear 125mm? Wasn't sure if it was 125, 150. Couldn't find any info online either lol
How is the rim and motor linked? Because I cracked my rim ring? Essentially that's all that needs replaced. I can't figure out how to separate them. The rim/ring The motor is fine. Just need that ring replaced
neat mirror and handlebar modification, share links for them and the phone holder? i am keen to change the throttle if that is possible, thank you for the vids
Sorry, I’m not exactly sure. I would just take one of the original ones to a hardware store to compare with what they have. I was unable to find them easily by me so didn’t add any extra’s to my scoot.
Looking great! almost looks like a completely different scooter, I definitely should get to lubing the bolts on mine as well here soon, maybe this weekend. I also got a set of mirrors for it, since I had someone decide to pass me on the left in the middle of an intersection from a stop while making a left turn, fortunately was wearing full gear and was at relatively low speed so I was fine, but my rear brake lever was completely ruined, but I have a replacement on order for it so just waiting for it to come from China before I can ride It again. Don't know if I would have reacted in time even with the mirror but definitely a must have if it could have possibly prevented that or even worse. I guess just a PSA for everyone to wear full safety gear, and just assume everyone else on the road is trying to kill you.
thank you for keeping laotie ti30 content alive !

Love the purple
nice video as always, i was thinking bout painting my laotie es19 too
Make sure to paint a base coat of silver first, unless you’re painting it black.

Looks to me to be 125mm. Definitely not 150mm. I just measured mounting hole to mounting hole.
It’s actually 130mm but the closest aftermarket air shock would be 125mm

The rim/ring
The motor is fine. Just need that ring replaced
Do you know what size the rear bolt is? Id loke to order more of those nylon washers as some of mine have warn.
Look very nice, I try my scooter also

Absolutely. Glad you’re ok.
Have you tried the exa 291r?
Nope.
