Nerida are you still making videos? I’ve watched them all and I need more! You have inspired me to become an aesthetician! I love watching you and seeing how passionate you are and how much you want to help people, which is exactly what I want to do. I got an entire new skin line and am working hard to keep my skin hydrated and healthy! Thanks so much for your videos! I can’t wait for the day I can come get my skin treatments from you!
Thank you Lindsey. Yes, i am doing more this year.... you are going to love the new twist i have coming out for you Esties in a few months:))
Nerida Joy oh yayyyy! I just love your videos and have learned so much! We sooo appreciate you!
@@lindsayacosta7075 Thank YOU!oxxo
I use elemis papaya enzyme peel and it's fantastic! So gentle!
there are 2 main exfoliants, physical and chemical, physical contain granules or something hard to scrub with, whereas chemical exfoliant is basically just a chemical compound that exfoliates skin, for example glycolic acid, lactic acid etc, you just swipe a layer on and wash off when it says it basically exfoliates without having to scrub
Thank you Ping :))
I use to use st. Ives apricot scrub every day! ) ; sometimes twice a day... thinking I was keeping my face clean and clear of dead skin! Wish I would have the information I have now! :-) Thanks for educating us on keeping our skin healthy!
You are so welcome Liz:))
Paul's Choice are meant to have good chemical exfoliators
Hi Nerida, how often would you recommend to use an exfoliant with a buffing effect on a congested and acne-scarred skin? Thank you for your videos! Can't wait for the next ones. :-)
Generally ever 4 to 7 days..... depends on if you are surface dry and how sensitive your skin is. Don't let it dry though..... just work it in for a few minutes:))
Nerida Joy, thank you very much for your reply! I've been struggling with congested skin for years. I've been looked at by a cosmetolgist who recommended to use an exfoliator once every 30 days. There was a suggestion that I possibly overuse the exfoliator and make my pores produce more sebum (i used to exfoliate once a week) which would block them even more. I've tried to exfoliate once a month, but the skin becomes very rough and kind of thick from exfoliating to exfoliating. My skin is not sensitive, and I presume it is a surface-dry. Thank you again.
Paula's Choice is awesome for chemical exfoliants
What do you think about dermaplanning or shaving face at home for exfoliation, for sensitive, dehydrated, clog prone skin? Thanks
Dermaplanning can be a great option. It definitely allows you to be able to cleanse your skin well and get treatment products into your skin quickly and effectively. Dermaflash is a superior home device if you are looking for the best:))
Love the exfoliant with pineapple gommage
It is so difficult for me to find an absorbing exfoliant. Would you happen to have any recommendations on how to find one or how to search for hem online? Or in stores?
Research Dermalogica Exfoliants. ;-)
Valmont have one called Clarifying pack, Rejuvi have one called exfoliating mask,
La Praire have one called 3 minute peel..... big difference in prices though.... but all 3 mentioned are great! Check out Joy recommendation also.... Thanks Joy:))
Joy Medina can you use those everyday?
There are some questions regarding finding the type of exfoliant she’s referring to. She’s talking about chemical exfoliation-there are limited products in drugstores to find them, however you may have better luck finding them in a spa. Call a local spa, ask if they’ll do a free consultation with you, even if you cannot afford to have a treatment done, they may have a look at your skin, and give you a recommendation of a product you can use, as most spas will sell these types of exfoliants to clients. Fellow esthetician here, let me know if any of you have anymore questions, I would love to help any way I can!
Esthetician here as well to help! :-)
Yes, I like enzyme exfoliants without granules and they do usually contain enzymes and a little glycolic :))
Hi Nerida, is a scrub considered a granial exfoliator? Im asking to understand when I am reading a product to know what to buy.
Yes!:))
Ladies Dermalogica Exfoliants are great choices and you can find them at Ulta. ;-)
Thank you 😍😍😍😍
Hi Nerida, always love your videos! Any suggestions of a good exfoliator from the Eminence skincare line for really sensitive combination skin? Too many options to choose from!
I have not used this line before:) Ask them for samples to try!
aw shucks, ok thanks for the input
Like your tips!
With love from Ukraine:)
Thank you Anna :)

I have extremely oily skin very acne prone especially with closed and open comedones milia too 👎🏼😭I do think my skin gets dehydrated so surface dry like you’re saying so would this okay for me also I do have a lot of broken capillaries 😬I think from tanning salons 😬I don’t tan at all anymore but the damage is done 😩😰
Yea sounds like you have sun damage (broken capillaries, milia, comedones, and surface dryness). The constant tanning has compromised your skin barrier. It is vital for you to look for products that contain antioxidants (Vitamin C) that will help to repair cell damage. Also look for serums that hydrate the skin as well as strengthen your vascular system/capillaries. PCA products have some great products that contain many of the ingredients I just mentioned. Dermalogica has some very gentle exfoilants that use many of the ingredients Nerida spoke about in the video. Bless!
Such great advice Joy, thank you for your support:)
Yes, the tanning salons still affect the dermal layers in aging the skin. They also add to drying the outer layer..... keep your regimen simple.... non foaming cleanser, mild exfoliant, healing hyaluronic acid serum and a light non comedogenic moisturizer.... no toner, no drying masks.....
@@NeridaJoySkincare Thank you
What exfoliant do you use? I find a hard time finding one like you described.
lots have been listed above....thank you all for your comments!
what product did you use on her face?
Can we use steam when we applying rejuvi exfoliating mask?
Yes, but it will activate it and therefore make it sting a lot more. Could be to strong or uncomfortable for the client's face, neck...maybe ok on chest and back:))
Please could you tell us which is exfoliating is, honestly I can't find an exfoliator without granules or scrubs I have looked everywhere but there are no where to found thank you
Veronica Garcia, Aveda makes a liquid exfoliant. It’s called Aveda Bio Kinetics Exfoliant. It is a chemical exfoliant, so it absorbs dead skin cells. I’ve been using it a couple of months and am very happy with it!
Shari Tackert Thank you
Veronica Garcia Hi, try Elemis Papaya Enzyme something or Dermalogica Cream Exfoliant -they are granules free and really good ;)
karola5 Thank you
Hi Veronica, I just listed a few above in another reply above.... :))))
