My class is reading the book, it's by Howard Zinn and he does U.S History from the underdog perspective more and less, and sheds more light on what really happened during America's early days. Zinn gives more context than the textbooks in schools and doesn't sugar coat what America had done. It's on Barnes and Noble's website just look up: A People's History of the United States: 1492-Present
by Howard Zinn
I knew there was always something wrong with this world ever since i was a little kid back in first grade, LUPE HAS opened my eyes fully today n im so happy for it cause it made me look at things in a bigger picture n made me connect with my inner self ,thats why i know music is very powerful especially when you're young and have no one to look up 2 nd havn no one actually giving you no kind of direction from ppl to fam when ur young music helps a lot when you feel like you r alone in the world.
Right On!
One of the few artist that I respect as a human as much as a rapper
I had a history course where we had Howard Zinn's "History is A Weapon" as out curriculum. Hell of a class and hell of a textbook.
i dont know how anyone can hate on this guy. My favorite Musical Artist ever. Best Rapper, Apart of a good rock band, A DJ in SNDCLSH. their's nothing this dude cant do.
this man is my inspiration
I love the book by Howard Zinn. Never been so interested into history before that class.
i clocked the whole 22 mins on this...beyond enlightening
Lupe and Immortal Tech must make an album collaboration. It would be educational indeed.
Yooooooooo!!! 😮😮😮🔥🔥🔥
just cuz he did well dnt make him mainstream + even if he is, his lyrics remain DEEP :)
When he finishes his 2 commercial albums and just do what he wants.... Gosh, he is gonna KILL it
This comment aged well
@@nkazimulomoyeni4819this comment also aged well
I love the "lingo" exchange going on, here. Where the interviewer is using "urban vernacular", the interviewee has decided to better articulate himself. It's a different world.
Colloquialism is what you’re referring to. Not always the best thing. But if you enjoyed it
im super late on this lupe movement. 6 minutes into this i forgot i was listening to a rapper speaking. how do u compare someone like that. with way bigger views than every other rapper. i cant believe im wakin up NOW.
That's what's great about Lupe, he doesn't think like the other rappers.
Superstar and Shows Goes On are technically "pop" songs because they charted well on the Billboards.
AQGOAT24 and he still was able to keep it "positive"
True talent
Thanks, never heard that word before :)
Anybody know the name of that gray hoodie he's wearing? I'd pay top dollar for that
Superstar and Show Goes On both did well on Pop charts. Whether you like it or not, Lupe is a mainstream artist.
AQGOAT24 2 out a million makes him mainstream?
Not anymore bro. He's very unappreciated.
thanks man
lu is on some galaxial intellect.....FNF UP!!
Yeah, cant wait though
very cool video man
For lupe to call out JP Morgan chase at this event when being cornered with a question about Chicago like that.... What other artist does that, in 2012...
jay still Rockin
lol it sounds pretty outlandish but i believe he does have a photographic memory...so who knows?? And i say this cuz some of the references he makes just boggle my mind like how the fk does he remember that?
Just watch the "double burger with cheese" video. I mean I barely remember scenes from a movie I watched two days ago but he can vividly illustrate scenes from half a dozen different movies from the 90s.
Are you a Lupe fan?!
so food and liquor 2 is coming...?
What was the last word?
any one know the book he speaks of?
i disagree. yeah they were not as good as the 1st too, but they are 2 of my favorite albums and his friend of the people mixtape i thought was great
What book was he referencing to called education?
Instead, Tuteso & Youth :D
oh haha its alright. and well, that's a good question 0.o
u know?
get loaded lux in that guild
he meant like popular music =pop music
I am a cultural worker in a field of public ???
Pedagogy.
Yeah, but wouldn't you agree that pop music never has a particular sound? I mean look at 80's Pop compared to today's Pop. It's whatever what's the cool sound is.
i menat part 2. my bad
no not really( or at least i don't think so).he just referred to the genre of pop music set up against with lu's music
its been out haha...
pedagogy
Did they call him "Pop Music"?
do you think he really has memories of the womb
It's not unheard of.
Good inspiration may I add! ;) PS POP music??? These old white men do not know anything....lol......
oh no mate its canceled :(
lol what is camden nj... if people only knew
sorry, wasnt listening. I was thinking part 2 not just food and liquor 2
Lol no dislikes
What the fuck is he talking about. Some of the best and classics ... are over 40 and beyond ... Wu Tang, Beastie Boys etc ... Do you think you can just take away peoples culture ?
dude, chill with the "you know"
It's his thing.
He’s using it as a filler for his thoughts. You should see the half black half Japanese basketball player Rui Hachimura. In Japanese he says “ano..” often and “y’know” often in English.
sorry for the dislike... damn touch screen phones
I loce Lupe, but he says "You know" too much.
His last 2 albums weren't 2 good though
I'm sorry those glasses are annoying AF
