He reworked the style of conscious rap, kept the values, and developed into the craft to such a level that people beg him to lecture his knowledge at College. Dumb it down!
Man I've been trying to find this video for two or three years. It's powerful. Sad but powerful. I wanted to share it with the kids I mentor. Couldn't find it nowhere. Thanks for posting it
This hurts….. Lupe dedicated his career to push something different. Something other than the bullshit. It’s really a fucking shame his inspiration was lost on the next generation. Him and Common. It’s a pity. Love Chief Keef, but it’s pretty pathetic he has a deeper legacy in Chiraq……
Lupe Fiasco has a charity that helps youth ages 14-24 years old. He's also participated in and lead other charity efforts. He's had a positive effect and imprint on the peoole of Chicago, no doubt. But it is certainly pitiful the mistakes we've made, our short sightedness, and the plots of those around us that are looking for the downfall of an entire generation and their children's children as well. And look who's embracing Lupe and welcoming him to give classes.. MIT and Yale. Lupe is academic for some while gangs and ghosts are everyday life for others.
I literally remember that Lupe interview w/ Sway. Even when Sway tried to attempt an Ollie. Definitely shows the journey that Lupe really took to get himself out of his situation but yet still feels survivors remorse to those that are just stuck w/ little to no resources or have just given up hope.
Thanks for uploading this. This struck me. I didn't listen to Lupe back in the day because I was brainwashed about the kick push stuff being soft, and I was in a bad part of Texas and thought I wanted to be around those problem people, until I lost friends or had them go to prison, or people I knew become monsters and went to prison. It's stupid and I was foolish. I like Lupe so much more now that I'm older and to see him talk about this is wild. He seems like a genuinely good person. He's helped a lot of people from a position of strength. Damn...
I remember seeing this video back in 2012 when it first aired. When he sheds his tears and shares his pain at the end I cry wit em. Idk why. I know what he’s talking about when he states his homies are dead. But that, me talking to me 6 years ago send chills down my spine. Life is changing fast man
Just look up Charles Patton. Lupe came from a real place with some real backers. Watching an old video to see the dead alive and happy is a strange perspective.
@@kenonlattimoreBro, you ain't heard the last two albums? Lupe ain't got no peace. The dude is carrying the entire legacy of Hip Hop on his back SOLO. Everybody been hating on him lately over his RAP opinions and they don't even realize that their favorite rappers been SLACKIN'. Yes, even Kendrick.
@godspeedhero3671 I said some level of peace. Obviously the deaths of some of his friends and close ones in the earlier parts of his life haunt him but his best friend/confidant/manager being out of prison is something he's been longing for for a while. And Kendrick what?
@@archerheart yea I know I just haven’t heard him in a while and what I meant was I miss listening to Lupe. So I started looking him up and that’s how I got here.
What makes this sadder n more real is realizing that this was in 2012 the rise of chief keef and all those newer gangs. Smh rip to those lost.
Bro really set the tone for guys like Kendrick to be widely accepted give bro his fuckin flowers
He definitely deserves his flowers. Been with my man since Food And Liquor. This just shows how real he is.

I don’t like Chief Keef at all.
All sales of "Mission" and "Pumkin Seeds" help people via charity, please listen to those Lupe songs and buy those tracks.
Rip to lupe homies

It's an emotional feeling.😢
Chill out now so Lupe has some level of peace.

“Looked the “ghosts” in the face and I cried, No Wu-Tang.. jus Lu Gang when I ride.” 😢
Background check for a choppa 🔫
with an L up, screamin “free the guys!” like I’m dirt (them hittas)
with a clean record but I’m cursed
to make a half a million off a verse
I remember watching this. Thanks for the upload. 👍🏾
Reality. Enter Chiraq, Drill Music, and still people 'making money off of all of that'.
Wasulu MY GOAT

I really miss Lupe fr. He still one of my favorite artists and I think he is one of the dopest rappers ever
Are you listening to The Samurai album?
What do you mean you miss him? He's still around putting out quality music.
@@libraryofpapel na bro I haven’t. That’s what I mean when I said I miss Lupe. Shouldn’t worded it better
