Rule number 1 of gangsta/street niggas… is to know not to talk reckless to people for no legitimate reason especially not to another street nigga don’t talk reckless and gangster to another street nigga unless it’s for legitimate reasons. I’m not saying don’t take a reckless gangster nigga seriously, I’m saying take it critic’ally hear him out or walk away from the discussion… don’t talk reckless and talk over people in a reckless tone. Gangsters are some of the softest/sensitive guys emotionally intelligent sentimentally, but they have the hardest tough guy disposition possibly from growing up . Don’t emasculate another street gangster , Don’t undermine another street gangster who supposedly a friend or colleague , unless last case scenario it’s a legitimate reason legitimate falling out , even then you should choose your next words and actions carefully critic’ally. 2. Gangstas are big on respectability. Keeping your witts about yourself common-sense conmen on-decency mutual respect , keeping to your word practice what you preach live up to what you ramble don’t be a bs artist , and a man being a a man , a woman being a woman.sticking to your purpose , your life work, your code. 3. Big on Boundaries, Stepping correct towards people around people in general. 4. Don’t fuckk the bosses girl. 5. Don’t betray decent people , don’t snake your friends or family.

This album is why Lupe is the goat in my eyes. Lupe in general has an arsenal of great music, but the cool defined the times for me. Some songs on the cool even feels prophetic in hindsight, considering where we've gone as a society

This album changed my entire life and outlook. I was 17, at the time it came out, and was doing all the things The Cool was doing in these streets, back then. I'll never forget it but, a homie at my then job (big Chris) handed me a physical copy of that album and, after I took it home and listened to it, it was like an entire window opened in my head. I saw what I was going to end up like, if I kept doing what I was doing. Thank you Lupe. You gave me the self reflection and confidence that saved my life. My niece is a junior in a private art school (she plays piano) and she absolutely loves your music and message. She played part of Paris Tokyo for me last year when my sister and her visited. Greatest real artist & renaissance man of this era. Nobody is close.

Probably my favorite album of all time and has had a huge impact on my perspective in life. Congrats and thank you Wasalu. You are truly a great artist and deserve far more recognition.
