Thanks so much for this video. It's helpful. I have had a hard time being assertive and have boundaries in a classy way. Here are my attempts:
    Situation 1
Hi John, I need to discuss with you about work. I've recently been assigned to do a project. So that will be my priority. I won't be able to stay back to help you out with your work anymore. But if you really get stuck and need help, don't hesitate to email me and I will have a look on my schedule to see when I can go through the work with you.
    Situation 2
Hi Claire, I need my book back when I can I pick it up?

You're welcome! And you're right. It isn't always easy to be assertive and set boundaries. However, it's helpful to know how and have the language to do so. Wonderful work on the examples you provided. 😀

"Being assertive is the ability to communicate in a confident and calm way, even intense o difficult situations. When someone else might be pushy or rude or aggressive at work, it means you're able to respond in a respectful, calm way without any agression without nagative emotion and without having to apologize. It means being able to say no, to speak directly and clearly about what you wnat or what your limits are without sounding angry or aggressive and again without feeling badly or having to apologize " You explain very nice We have to work hard this goal

    • @Speakconfidentenglish
