The "cute little Rhipsalis fern thing" is Psilotum nudum, the skeleton fern/whisk fern. It grows best epiphytically, but also does will in pots and water gardens of basically any moisture or light level.
Those aquatic plants are going to pop off then you’ll have so much you won’t know what to do with them💚💚 Love that you’re doing planty things that make you happy!
Especially that duck weed that stuff is a curse I’ve been trying to get rid of it for years. I can start a new tank and next thing I know my tank is covered in it.
I saw people putting waterfall features in their ikea cabinets to increase humidity. This looks like an amazing idea, especially in winter when it’s so dry in most spaces
Such a cool idea. I think I am going a make one for my living room. Plus my desk is next to it so the sound of water will be relaxing as I work on my computer!
What a cute, creative thing to do for enjoying your bedroom! It adds to the ambiance and peace your bedroom should provide you! Thank you for sharing this! Love it!!!
What a brilliant idea! I've been wanting to incorporate a water feature for a while but always found the pond section at the store intimidating. Thanks for making it look so easy, definitely going to try! 💚💚
Great project! So glad to see houseplant channels discovering the new possibilities in growing these plants in water. I’ve been growing a wide variety of Houseplants in my fish tanks for years and it’s so much fun!
I live on the beach in Sooke BC Canada. If you ever want driftwood just let me know. I will happily send you some. It's the least I can do after all the entertainment you've given me 🥰
So awesome Harli, I finally watched this cool video, Iike I mentioned in your recent video when I have my sunroom I will for sure make one of these indoor ponds because I love the sound of these and seeing the plants growing and just the cool vibe that these ponds give is just amazing, thanks for a great video that you did such a great job creating this beautiful indoor pond. Sending love and hugs, bye!! 😍👍👋💚💜💜
Oh my goodness! I love this! I love those pots too- I have a ginormous spider plant in the 24 inch one. It’s so heavy it takes 2 of us to move it outside in the summer for watering.
Another fun plant to try for some height (and it can set on the bottom of the pot) is Papyrus (Cyperus papyrus) - it's so much fun, but does need a lot of light to grow tall/fast. Love yours, it turned out so well! I love turning large planters into small ponds/fountains that include plants.
I have a large outdoor fishpond, so I decided to try and make a small indoor pond in front of my bow window for the winter several years ago. I had a heavy-duty half barrel liner, which looked nice with the houseplants on either side of the window...so I filled it with rainwater in the fall and transferred several plants from the pond, a few small goldfish and added a small fountain pump. It really looked nice and the sound of the water was very relaxing. My problems started in the dead of winter, when the water level in the pond started going down from evaporation. I couldn't add tap water because the chlorine and chloramine would have killed the fish...but luckily, we had some snow. I put the snow into a plastic garbage can and brought it into the house to thaw and come to room temperature...then filled the pond. I had to pray for snow the whole winter so that I'd be able to top off the pond when it needed it. 🤣 Luckily, the fish survived and were able to go back into the large pond in the spring, but I wasn't motivated to do that again. I did get several blooms from the water lily, since the bow window got plenty of afternoon sun, but the whole project was too worrisome for me to try again.
If you were to throw in like 3 small goldfish this thing would pop! The waste from the fish feeding the plants would be immense. Free fertiliser! But omg I love it. I’d love to have one of these but here in the UK the condensation this would create would destroy the house! Haha thanks for another great vid G x
This would be an ideal spot for propagations, especially if you added a little fish tank heater. Props love warm, well oxygenated (from the pump mixing it up) water.
"I'm not really smart"... Ma'am, I am going to need you to take that back!! You are very smart!! I have been thinking about doing something like this, but with a fish tank so I can get fish for my kids to enjoy... But then we would have pets to take care of 😅
Lmao! Harli, you're such a show-off with your muscles😂. I love it! I was just talking about a water feature that incorporates my plants and here you are. So cool! I think I'm going to try an aquarium with soil first then gradually move up to the water feature. I've got mosquitoes. Lots of 'em Thanks for sharing and have an awesome weekend!
I like it…I have aquariums and have had many of the floating plants you’re using. When fish are present and producing waste the floating plants grow like crazy. They soon cover my tank, I’m not sure what the effect will be without fish. You might need to provide Simple Green (aquarium coop) to keep them fed. Please report back on a regular basis. Thanks
It looks so good! Just some tiny tips/advice. Most of those floating aquatic plants do best with still water, they should do alright with the fountain feature, but I’d keep an eye on the state of them. I’m glad you didn’t add fish just because, I appreciate wanting to do research beforehand, but since you won’t be benefiting from their waste it would be beneficial to add some hydroponic fertilizer. Now I want a cute pond feature.
Omg I love this! Ever since I saw @serpadesign do something like this I been having this in the back of my head. Would love to have one near my fish tank with big plants sticking out😍😍 I LOVE how this turned out!!
Look cool! I'd love if you rather take us live with you while do actually do it. I prefer that over you talking in hindsight and showing what you did. It's much more fun to see you live in action 😍❤️
I used frog bit, salvinia, horsetail, ivy, pothos and philodendron. It never occured to me to add sygonium. Thanks for the idea. I added sand to the bottom, some rock to secure the pump, and a few small stones sprinkled on the bottom. It's been running a couple of months and a healthy environment to possibly add guppies. My first choice would be rice fish but I can't get them in my area. The container is shallow at about 14 inches, and 20 inches tall. I think we are kindred spirits, Harli. I'm always mixing stuff up too, so much to do and try and so little time!🤣😊
You can always add a substrate later on! The pothos I have in my aquariums have rooted themselves all the way down to the substrate. I use seachem red flourite; it’s gorgeous and great for plant growth!
Also great surface agitation coming from that waterfall which will help increase oxygen levels and circulation; great for helping roots intake nutrients and prevent bacteria buildup.
Do you still have your Begonia flaccidii? Yeah it’s me 😂 And hell yes! Look at those arms!! RIPPED!. Ahhh! Yes! I’ve been wanting to do this for so long but didn’t want to go big! This is perfect!
The "cute little Rhipsalis fern thing" is Psilotum nudum, the skeleton fern/whisk fern. It grows best epiphytically, but also does will in pots and water gardens of basically any moisture or light level.
Yup!
Harli, please believe more in yourself, you are a very strong, capable and intelligent woman.
Thank you for the video, it was great, big hug.
🤗❤
If anyone comes for Harli for not doing a professional build, the G gang will come for them…with mealybugs and thrips
🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂
The G gang!!!! I love ittt
G gang!!!🙋🏾♀️🪴💚
Those aquatic plants are going to pop off then you’ll have so much you won’t know what to do with them💚💚 Love that you’re doing planty things that make you happy!
@Harli If this happens, find a way to sell them on your shop!
Especially that duck weed that stuff is a curse I’ve been trying to get rid of it for years. I can start a new tank and next thing I know my tank is covered in it.
So cute!!
Plus it will add humidity to the room, and that will make the other plants very happy!
I saw people putting waterfall features in their ikea cabinets to increase humidity. This looks like an amazing idea, especially in winter when it’s so dry in most spaces
I love this idea! 😊
Such a cool idea. I think I am going a make one for my living room. Plus my desk is next to it so the sound of water will be relaxing as I work on my computer!
Plant collections aren’t complete without a water feature! I love it!
You shouldn't put yourself down like that, I think it was brilliant! Thank you for showing how simple it was and beautiful it can look 👍🏴👍
What a cute, creative thing to do for enjoying your bedroom! It adds to the ambiance and peace your bedroom should provide you! Thank you for sharing this! Love it!!!

Oh my goodness! I love this! I love those pots too- I have a ginormous spider plant in the 24 inch one. It’s so heavy it takes 2 of us to move it outside in the summer for watering.
Nice! Would love the water sound in my bedroom. Quite soothing!
I love how it turned out. I will keep an eye on the salvinia minima, because it grows so fast you might have to take some every once in a while 😉
Love it!👍
When your kids are older ,it would look great on the floor, for eye level ,
💚🌵☘️🌱

A Prince Tut papyrus would loof great in a big pond pot!
This is amazing! I just asked my husband if we can make one too. Lol! I love the mix of water props and aquatic plants. So pretty!
Harli you are so creative!!

I normally make a pond in a big terra Cotta pot, for outside.
Never thought of doing a pond inside. You rock!

I think you Always do a great job!¡
Great idea! It looks so professional😊

I’d love to have one of these but here in the UK the condensation this would create would destroy the house! Haha thanks for another great vid G x
Now I feel inspired to make one too! Thanks, Harli! ❤
I made a mini pond with this exact planter pot a few weeks ago!
Love it! We have one outside and have to shut it down for winter. Tried aquarium, but it’s not the same. We will do this! My cats will adore it!
Awesome! Thanks a lot!
I have one complaint… I now have to make an indoor pond… thanks Harli… thanks a lot 😂
This would be an ideal spot for propagations, especially if you added a little fish tank heater. Props love warm, well oxygenated (from the pump mixing it up) water.
Now I definitely have to copy this.... I might add 1 or 2 betta fishes to mine I have been wanting to do potted fountain for a few months now
I love this. I’m doing this. Thank you so much for the idea!
I love this!
Great idea, thanks

Great idea. I may try that outside in the spring.
I love your creative idea. Be sure and follow up in a few months once the plants have grown more.
This is so cool!!!!

Okay! That’s good to know. I prefer doing it that way too. Sometimes it’s hard for me to do it that way with my kids screaming in the back 🥲
@@HarliG as a mom of 5, I’d feel more comfortable if the kids were doing exactly that in the background haha

Love the look and sound of your water feature. I have one on my patio. Might make One inside after seeing yours. Frog bit is kinda aggressive tho.
I love this so much. I totally want to make a pond in the future. 😍

I’ve been too scared to try (thanks anxiety!) but now I will and even sent the link to my friend so we can do one together next week!
Beautiful 🍃🤗
Haha the Taco Bell cup came in clutch lol.
Maybe place a big rock right on top of the water pipe
I love it! It came out great🎉 I want to make one. Thanks so much 😊
💪 yeah!
Great job Harli! It’s nice and will be relaxing to listen to. 💦
