In germany we call this dish ,Bratkartoffeln‘ which means fried potatos. Add some smoked bacon or ham stripes or put a fried egg on top with some pickles on the side. Simply delicious.
@Melkick Productions True, but if you just order "fried potatoes" in the US you never know if you're going to get what you want or "hash browns", which is fried shredded potatoes.
Lyonnaise potatoes existed in France long before the South learned to cook with a microwave. Sooo...sorry! you did not create this. you just make it reverse fancy i.e blah
I said what I said. We aren’t French. I bet some other culture claims they’re called something else before the French called it La-whatever… 😂 this ‘Merica
Right! created in Europe through multiple countries! but America wants to claim the rights to every food in the world. Funny thing is there is literally not a single thing of food that is originally American except for maybe acorn tortillas and deer meat from native Americans 😉

This is a HEAVENLY dish, my Grandma used to make it (I don't recall her saying it had a name though) and if we were REALLY LUCKY she'd use duck fat instead of butter❣️🥰
I’ve never heard of that term. I was born and raised in NC. Must be different cultures and terms within towns and cities in NC. I knew them simply as fried potatoes. Or fried taters.
I am once again here in your comments telling you, one bald (and basically unknown) RUclips chef to another, that your new found baldness is beautiful ❤️
My family has called it fried taters and onions..try mixing the butter with bacon grease, ..that's what we've been doin since at LEAST folks came out west!! Lol. I made them at least 4 times a week for my family .
Guys!!!!! Stop boiling your potatoes before frying them!!!!!!! It is unnecessary and you lose too much of the flavour and the nutrients!!!! You can perfectly fry sliced or diced taters without boiling them: medium to low heat and COVER WITH LID! That is important. Flip occasionaly. It might take a litlle longer than boiled potats, but you will LOVE the taste!! I only boil potatoes for mash. Actually, I don’t boil ANY other veggies. If need to be soft: steam and lose less of the goodness.
Definitely, a pretty easy dish to pull off as well my friends. Potatoes are just the best
What are they called? I didn’t catch it in the video

Sherry vinegar?? Can any other vinegar be used? Rice vinegar/acv/white??

Don't give the dog some onion infused potato, onions are toxic to them. Give them to me. I'll happilly devour every single bite 🤤
