- 1) I thought it was pretty obvious but make sure you drain your gas tank first.
2) Looks like you should be able to do this with it on the tractor. and should literally take you about 5 mins. it took me longer because I wanted to fully inspect the fuel sediment component.

The threads don’t seal on the threads of fuel line, it seals on the flair and fitting of the sediment bowl.
Thanks for your explanation. I've got a '52 8N and been working on getting it up to speed, and have had some experience with the Sediment Bowl. A few observations: the rubber o-ring goes BETWEEN the little washer and the nut, not up against the threads of the tip. It may work as you have it, but it will eventually chew up the o-ring being pushes against the mating surface of the sediment bowl. When it's between the washer and the nut, it simply gets squeezed/compressed and THAT's what seals the shaft from leaking. Use a 7/16" flare wrench nut on all gas/oil lines - you won't have rounded corners on the nuts! Use Permatex #2 sealant on the tank joint, the adjuster joint, and the gas inlet joint. Teflon tape is not advised for gas line connections. I like your idea about finding an o-ring that fits - you said 6x2. That's usually what needs to be replaced. That, and the bowl gasket (cork is supposedly preferred over a rubber gasket).
We always had the best results with the cork bowl gasket. The rubber ones leaked every time. Some people have used string to make the packing for the shut off valve. 8ns have three fuel filters. One on top of the fuel valve, another between the valve body and the glass bowl, this one is a flat circular screen ( I think yours is missing)and then a third at the carburetor fuel elbow.
Everything you did showed viewers how to remove, clean and re-install a sediment bowl. No confirmation that it fixed the leak? Make a part 2 video with pouring fuel in tank, open valve to see how long it takes to fill bowl, and see if it actually works. Kinda important info isn't it? I was curious, don't know about other viewers but you left us hanging.
Not really 14:54-15:55 It clearly says if it leaks you will see an annotation if it didn't work. There was no annotation so clearly it worked.
Got you playing all day Brother. Have a good 1! #2
and again lol
Was there fuel in the tank?
If yes how did you do that without it spilling all over
I did that to my International farmall 544 hydro and man did it flow!!
I stopped it but not fast enough .
Excellent tip! Thanks!,😀👍
Does the gas tank need to be empty to do this? I couldn't find you saying that...
Yes
Thank you. Good job.
Never ever use a pair of channel lock or pliers on line fittings unless you want to have to replaced squashed fittings. Always use a properly sized line wrench.
Well if I couldn't get it off or it was slipping I would have.
vice grips
thanks helped alot
Awesome glad I could help
Got it cleared up pretty well.
