another great one Jeremy. Places easy to get to from Osaka and Kansai region, which is where I will be every time I go back. I had no idea about Shima's famous history, I will be sure to visit.
Jeremy, I went on the Kintetsu Line's Blue Symphony train last Spring, down to Nara Prefecture, to Yoshino, the last stop, to see cherry blossoms. It is considered a luxury day train with a dining area as well....very short trip from Namba station. Would love to see your review if you decide to try it.
The Blue Symphony is definitely on my list. Probably won't ride it during cherry blossom season though - I tend to be a crowd-avoider and that is an insanely busy time for Yoshino and that train!
Definitely beats the amtrak. I can't imagine how lucky someone would be to ride that train for a daily commute. Thanks again for all the fun adventures!
That would be a fun commute, but I'm not sure anybody uses it for that. Not a daily one, anyway, though it would be a nice company that would pay for there extra fee on this train!
Love that beautiful train! I do have a question. I would love to travel to a lot of the places you film, but as an English-only speaker how challenging would it be to navigate some of the experiences?
I think it would be fine. Train staff usually can speak at least basic English, at least the important isolated words ("ticket", "platform", stuff like that). It might be good to write down the words for "reserved" and "unreserved" seat in Japanese just in case. But you'd get by with smiles, gestures, patience, and slow, simple English
Great video. It's interesting that all announcements are delivered in English as well.
Yes that was handy

Amtrak is a pig pen in comparison !
The food train was awesome! Gotta ride this one for that cake. Yum! The summit was so important there. All that museum for it. Cool vlog my friend
Could you somehow fly this train to California? -- charlie, sacramento
You've heard of Auto Train, now try the Train Plane!
I second that wish. I am still dreaming of Sacramento to San Diego on a train like this some day...

Nice to see another country. Didn't see a shower in the train, tho'.
Good point. I guess for a slightly over 2-hour ride, there isn't much call for showering
