More information about the burial mound and standing stone from the first station: The stone talks about the Kosai family from the Ii-Kuma area of Nishi-Yokota village, who buried their early-modern ancestors in the cemetery at 611-3 Uchiyama in the village. That cemetery was destroyed to make way for the road, which was built as part of a national project in 1971. After two generations and more than 30 years of disputes between the family and the city, the city finally apologized in 2005 and this stone was erected in 2007 to remember the location of the old cemetery.
Excellent Jeremy. Such a rural part of Japan. Too bad no sunshine there today. Love the trains too. Easy way to travel on Japan. Glad to see you like coffee. I prefer decaf green tea. I have a cup each night. Have done so for years. See you next video 📹 C. Have a pleasant week. Watch out for those 🕷 webs. 😊😊😊
very very nice Jeremy. Fantastic find, definitely on my list for a future trip. The rest of my family is currently in your neck of the woods, not far from you at all in Hyogo.
Always fun to see railway videos from Japan on your channel. This is my kind of video for sure! Great job Jeremy! Good thing those Beastie Boys weren't out to "Sabotage" your video!
@stilgaardfremen73@@OrlandoStreets Kirin is like Coca-Cola or Pepsi in the US, they produce and bottle a whole range of drinks. It's just that we only know about their beer outside Japan. The machines sell Kirin hot chocolate and such too. There are a handful of drink companies that have competing machines. The other really common ones are Suntory and Ito En. (Ito En mainly makes teas.) We had one of these machines in my office and I quickly discovered that we could only order drinks from their catalog. Most importantly, one of them offers Coke products and another one offers Pepsi products.
It's usually not served at all since it doesn't fit Japanese food. But if it is, maybe a small paper cup they squirt some out in from a container behind the counter? In a US-style diner like this though, I guess you'll often see bottles

Love watching your videos
Those old wooden stations are really cool.
Looks like there is another megane bridge and it's because the arches reflect and look like spectacles from the full circle with the water reflection.
Ah that makes sense. I should have slowed down and thought about it more when I was there...!
We enjoyed this laid back episode. So beautiful there. Amazing, really. Nice choice of music as well. Sounded Hawaiian. Mahalo!
Thanks. In this humidity, life tends to be laid back...!

I wondered why they were out so early... I guess that was the local time to get ill ;)
@@T1DWanderer Yes! This is the sort of comment I was waiting for.
Nice video 😊
Do the "Kirin" vending machines at almost every station there not sell Kirin beer?
I was wondering the same. Must be the vending machine companies name.

- What is your job? - Searching for faded paint and some abandoned bicycles in rural Japan. - Oh, that sound very interesting.
Good honest work!
How is ketchup usually dispensed in Japan?
