This has to be the best filming of atdi in their prime that I have seen. Massive hats off to the filmer. I did this for a while a keeping a steady shot in hectic shows is a massive effort.
I think its funny that the guitar that Omar plays was intentionally designed to look like its upside down when played right handed, and so when Omar plays the guitar it looks normal

I remember Spencer Moody of the Murder City Devils kicking out the security guards prior to this set proclaiming, “you know what… I’m a faggot.” MCD proceeded to light their cymbals on fire, and deliver one of the most raucous sets I’ve ever seen. By the time ATDI came on, much had already been said. 4 years later, my band played in Laredo, Texas… in a backyard in front of a couple hundred kids. You could hear their love for this band. ATDI started there. I’m somewhat embarrassed of their somewhat typical experience of Philly at this show, but I remember this show as one of the best I’ve ever seen.

@@Celestialtapes666 they were explosively energetic, and remarkable sonically even back then. 9th band on a 9 band bill in a suburban gymnasium that doubled as an all ages “venue.” My lame band played third, and I wouldn’t have stuck around honestly had we not traded 7”s. There were MAYBE 20 people watching and they still played like it was a packed club. Went home and listened to Acrobatic Tenement on repeat all night. “Ticklish” is still one of my favorite songs from them.

Towards the end of the documentary, they show a performance of Cosmonaut and in the Japanese on-screen lyrics, it translates to “To die alone”. oh god this was the tour when they played Black Cat and MCD's drummer lit his toms on fire so every time he hit them, boom, flames to the ceiling.
Was his cymbals on fire. Drum heads tend to melt. Brass is more forgiving.
