They were just disabling the vehicles with frag grenades, not satchel charges or anything

It is common for crews to unload the gun and leave the breach closed when not in operation. So a grenade in the barrel of a tank would not take out the tank, it might damage the gun, but it shouldn't compromise it, and it should still function. And the crew would be 100% safe.

I love how this gets more views than legitimate WW2 Documentaries...
The clip wasn't empty, only fired three shots. It was a blank firing gun, so had it been empty it would have ejected properly. In reality, I intended to shoot two shots at each target but after the third shot it jammed.

As was mine, and I love history too, especially war history. It's just weird how our culture has changed so much since then. Imagine having a father in his thirties who served in WW2 and hear you say that you love WW2. How different it is from today is what I was getting at. How hard it was for them and how easy it for us to observe now.

This is unrealistic.
1. Unless this was just after the D-Day paratroopers landed, the US squad should consist of more than 10 troops.
2. There should be more germans since the tanks need 4 people to run and the half-tracks carry 8 or more troops.
3. Why would even the US squad attack them? Its 3vs6 plus tank & half-track.
4. Germans know how to use a tank and a halftrack. Why didnt they just go inside and shoot the US squad with an MG?
I'm not angry, just pointing out the issues with the realisim.
1. Yeah, maybe, but what if it was some patrol who got brave?
2. The Pz. Kmpfw. III has a FIVE man crew. Halftracks aren't always loaded with soldiers. That could also be a small camp, with the other soldiers on a patrol or just plain dead.
3. If you notice, both the tank and the Halftrack were out of commission(not in use at the moment). Among other things, they had the surprise and the flank. Numbers can still be dwindled by bullets. And like I said, they just got brave.
4. The flank the Americans took in this video would allow them to kill the men trying to crew the tank. Should anyone try to mount the Halftrack, they'd be dead(hence minute 1:20, the guy DIES. Why? He tried to do what you just pointed out). If anyone tries to get in the tank, they would be dead.
5. It's a video made by rocketjump. Realism isn't there niche.

Yeah the tank barrels weren't as weak as the 88's or the 105 artillery guns. I doubt even TNT would do the job.

I find it ironic that its 1944 and they have a PzKpf III instead of an Tiger or Panther
there were very few tigers and panthers in action through the entirety of WWII, and Pz IIIs were very common, along with Pz IV, Sturmgeschutz, or STUGs, and even the occasional Hetzer.
WWII Tanks are the best especially German tanks. If only they manufactured the Maus. The Panzer IV Ausf H. is great for its upgrade from the Panzer IV Ausf F. The Germans manufactured quality not quantity, because Russia and The US was all about quality over quality. The Panzer IV Ausf H. is my overall favorite medium tank in WWII History
+Wesley Gibson the maus would of been terrible, it would use up too much fuel, it was too slow and couldn't even cross bridges. A couple dive bombers could of took it out and you have to remember that by the late stages of the war the allies hadthe air superiority

Its only a two minute film if it was 30 min to an hour that's different. this was a good little movie they made and its different you don't see any other ww2 first person movies out there... stop complaining.. had this been as I said before a 30 min to an hour film I would of expected blanks being used and proper patches and stuff like that but really there is no need...why do you think this has almost 5 million views

Imagine a first person view on the battle of Iwo Jima. Being pinned down in a hail of artillery, mortars, snipers, machine gun fire, just raining down over you and your comrades on the beach. While you're shitting your pants just trying to survive, you've got mutilated body parts of fellow marines scattered all across the beach. (Random arms, legs, mangled bodies) from the intensity of the bombings.
Or imagine a first person view of a Soviet Zerg rush. Watching Thousands of men being mowed down by German MG42's in a matter of seconds.
TL:DR; WW2 was fucking crazy, people were dying everywhere.

Kicks pretty hard, loud as all get-out, and you have to watch your thumbs or they'll get caught in the bolt while reloading. It's also a pain to reload the clips.

Generally in a situation like this one you don't want to send your flanking team in the same direction you're going to be shooting towards. It tends to end in an un-"friendly" manner. An assault on a fixed position should be set up in a "L" shaped assault or ambush.

Though the argument could be made for cruelty and callousness as impromptu execution it would have significant hurdles because of the A: immediacy of the combat action, B: and the fact that the combat action on the objective was not completed at the time of the indecent. C: and the combat plan did not include or provide for the disposition of prisoners (the combat leader made a conses decision to destroy all personnel and equipment of use to the enemy at the battle objective). I think it was not a war crime and I believe I give sound reasoning ..

PIATs were common but a small, air dropped commando crew most likely woult have on as they take two people to operate efficiently. One to carry ammo and one to carry and fire the weapon.
Because they got fed up of the damn thing and chucked it most likely.

The vehicles in this short were a half-track and a panzer III. They are both originals that have been restored for filming historically accurate films. I know this because I know the owner of the tank.

The pistol they used was the Colt M1911, as you can see in the video. The 1911 was made in 1911. WW1 began in 1914. Therefore, the pistol is historically accurate and you are a dumbass.

In the scene where the German is struggling to get away a real soldier would have taken him prisoner instead of killing him. The Allies weren't the agressors so they wouldn't shout an unarmed enemy.
The Allies were pretty brutal sometimes, because often its down to the individual. As for government decisions, well Google Bomber Harris, considered a war criminal by most people
In the east front yes, because germans nazis killed a lot of russians civilians and at te end of te war the russians doesn't were seeing that germans soldiers were humans. They only think "Fascist! Kill it!". And not only russians and other soviet peoples, I supose...

alon sazonv Actually, just about 10% of Germany was Nazi. The rest of Germany either hated the Nazis or they were forced to live with it. The Wehrmacht (the German army) and the Luftwaffe, the two main German armed forces divisions, actually contained very, very few Nazi soldiers and pilots. Even some members of the SS were never affiliated with the Nazi party.
P.S. The Nazis were actually a political party and forced their way to power even after 70% of German voters sided with another different political party.

awesome! I am assuming this was filmed in Colorado? That is also the same german vehicles as in Airborne Creed. I guess its in colorado because thats where the movie was filmed and because I got to see the exact vehicles at a local reenactment. The Panzer III is one of the only original ones in the world.

Not only tried, but succeeded. Canadian soldiers were also deployed all over during the war. Hong Kong, North Africa, Italy and Sicily, Normandy on D-Day, the list goes on.
this brings me back to the old call of duty games, the ones where it was rated T and was all about WW2...

No you can clearly see its a M1 Carbine. You can tell because of the very long exposed barrel that starts at about the mid point. M14s had wood all the way up until about 4 or so inches from the end. Plus the M1 Carbine, M1 Garand, and M14 are really the same rifle just slightly different so it really wouldn't of been easy to tell them apart.

Those weapon props were damn good
There are a few versions of "Luger". Regular 4 inch (most common, side arm of an Officer, later in WW2 replaced by P38 pistol) There is artillery one (artillery, longer barrel with different sights) and navy one (barrel even longer). Navy one is most praised amongst collectors. Action is the same, upper is different. But if you come in possession of an Navy/Arty P08 it'll probably will be your brand new car unless you are collector...
