The LoZ setting on the 116 is there to eliminate the meter from reading ghost voltage, similar to the way an old Simpson meter would. The 116 has eliminated the need for me to carry my old Simpson :( Came in real handy today on an Island Air PTAC reading 16 v of ghost voltage on the control wires. Ya that's just enough to make you question what's really going on, so I switched it to LoZ and it was gone. You can do something similar by putting a light bulb in parallel with the meter.
A hundred dollars for a fluke 325? Where this place lol cuz they’re more like 325usd where I’m at lol in all seriousness tho it’s a good video man thanks for sharing your experience with us 🤙🏻
I’m liking the Flir meters, but they Must figure that the thermal camera is good enough for temp. That was my biggest complaint with the fluke 279fc no temp. My flir dm285 hasn’t been as bad on batteries as I thought it would be.
Been running mine for at least 4-5 years now. I’m hard on them as well. I’ve had no problems. Up here in the PNW it’s always getting wet and still going strong.
Never used a Redfish. And have never had a good experience with UEI products. Testo quality control seems to be all over the place. Some of their tools are great, but after several leaking micron gauges, faulty digital manifolds, I don’t think I’d pick up their 770 multi meter over a 902 to save a hundred bucks.
@@HVACToolReview I would say its probably the best meter for hvac tech...its been out for a while and his been proven..I dont see any bad reviews about it..
Hello! Not to change subject, but amprobe has a heavy duty called the 160 hd. It's ip67 rated, cat 4, rated for 8 foot drop and has the features needed for hvac. caught my eye. This could be a cheaper choice over the fluke 87v max or standard 87v. Anyone have any experience with this meter? I know wavetek had an identical meter and fluke took over that meter. Just curious 🤔
Check my video on the fluke recall. ruclips.net/video/04ak-JZ2lRs/видео.html I’m betting they pulled most of the meters to ensure none of the recalled devices go out for sale. Probably won’t be easy to find one until they can get that sorted out unfortunately.
Hvac Player haha knew that was coming, but I honestly haven’t had the best experience with field piece. I had an sc620 that the amp clamp failed on in less than a year and it also had no backlight. I also had an st4 that never read accurate temps, but these were all years back so maybe they’ve improved? I did just pick up an sdmn6 dual input manometer for testing. So we will see how that works out and get a video put together for it.
Unfortunately, No. Even tho it has the ability to read smaller micro amps, that range is limited to .1 microamps - 600 micro amps. Which is .0001 - .6 milliamps. So if you are needing to check 0-20 or 4-20 MA signals you would need a different meter. The 117 is able to read that milliamp range, but loses the thermometer function. Hope that helps!
HVAC Tool Review absolutely. I am trying to find a good meter that does micro amps and volts and Milli amps and volts. I was looking at the Fluke 87V Max but it’s a bit pricey
dudeHVAC I hear you, I actually think it’s pretty stupid they did that with the 116. I did just pick up an 87v with the amp clamp, I’ll probably make a video on it real soon.
My buddy just hooked me up with the 902fc and the 116 flukes,, nice to have friends
I use my fluke 324 and 116. They are very dependable.
Great combo there!
I wouldn't recommend any meter that doesn't have an Amp Clamp for HVAC work - it's one of the main readings we take with our meters on a call.
Hvac meters without micro amp bother me too
@@ryantoner8132or ones that can’t read millivolts
I got a used 87v Max and it’s incredible.

Really like my 902FC. You did a great review.
Thank you! I love my 902FC!
CEM dt9939 is IP67 waterproof for $149.95 from Ruby electronics (same thing as the Extech that's $300.00).

Fluke 16 best meter ever!!!
I use a Flir CM174. Only complaint other than the batteries is no temp.

I hope fluke sends you free meters. Fieldpiece, Klein UEI, all make durable accurate meters.
I decided to try the 902 FC. How durable is it? I'm hard on tools

Redfish, testo and or uei. Gets as good of quality and more features for the $

Fluke 87 is about $400 & $450 with the amp clamp..
Was actually just looking at picking one up! 🤔👊

Fluke 323 does not test cap, or temp.
Which site can one order the.376 fc fluke multimeter...rookie is asking please.
Yea I just checked hard to find them anywhere right now. I’m assuming due to the huge recall. Just posted a video on it
I try searching the 902FC but can’t find it, any other link I can try searching for it? Or was it Discontinue? Or replace with another ammeter?

On sell for $250 on KTool
Just picked up a 902fc in brand new condition for $125. Found it on Facebook marketplace
Nice vid but how can an hvac meters video be complete without a fieldpiece meter :)

Does the 902FC measure inrush amperage?
It does not have the inrush, but it does have a min/max feature for the amp clamp.
The fluke clampmeter is worthless for finding grounded compressors.
Why do you say that ? And what meter do you prefer ?
