I’ve seen hundreds of interpretations of dragons. Sometimes I’ll see a dragon that controls the domain of time and has 100 legs. Sometimes a forest will have a dragon in every tree. Sometimes the essence and culture of a city will make a dragon. Dragons are everywhere. So many mythical creatures can be called dragons. Truly wherever you look, there be dragons.
Reading that last line my brain lit up like a white women’s Christmas tree and was immediately filled with sadness as my brain had conjured the words “Here were dragons”, SPC-1762
Well the later ones are drawn around the Ink while the Ink in the first one literally perfectly hit the shape byitself. The later ones are mostly just cool drawings and less actual Ink drops. That's probably what he means. You can see on the first one that he didn't even alter the shape of the Head at all. You can draw anything around anything. But having it actually be the Dragons Head... That's special luck.

I honestly love how much care you give to give us explanations for why and how you do things, and honestly it's personally like to see your take on a Chinese dragon or some form of Japanese Yokai should the ink speak to you in such ways lol. Personally one of my favorite myths are from Ireland primarily the banshee and the kelpie.

My gf does similar stuff but only i see it and it bothers me because this kind of creativity and seeing whats there when i cant is so incredible and a skill that not many can do to the same quality of your work.
LOL, you clearly are very contradictive. You say you do not want to force the ink blob in a particular manor. I have just seen multiple instances that you presented that do not agree. It may look nice but art is not contrived.
@@matthewmccann9281 I'm not exactly sure what you mean by that... but from what I have seen from this guy's art I can say, that no one ink blob is the same. You can try to control it to a degree. But in the end, it is always random. No matter what. And you have to work with what you have.
Art isn't always about what we want. Sometimes it has to be what we're suppose to see. There's definetely a skill to observing your art, and seeing what it's trying to show you.

I do this sometimes when I can't think of something I wanna draw. I scribble on the page with my eyes closed and then make out whatever comes to mind like an old timey therapy patient.

The "trying to force the ink blot into something it doesn't necessarily want to be," line just sent me on a full philosophical meditation session for the past hour. It was rather thought provoking. You also have some mad skills! It takes a lot of skill to visualize what that ink blot can truly become.
I truly admire the fact he doesn’t just show the amazing work he has done, but also shows the a side where it can be difficult and a struggle to create these artworks sometimes, and it takes time and patience. He also shows some artworks he has messed up on, this is a true artist.
Very humble man. The head which is the most important piece you start with is about 10% of your drawing the other 90% is your creative Artistry at work and major talent!

Saying that he is "pure talent" is an insult, that skill takes a lot of effort.
