Comparing Trump to Hitler? Let me know when Trump exterminates his first million Jews or Muslims. It’s Biden who is supporting wars that are killing or maiming two hundred thousand Ukrainians, not to mention the drafted Russian young men, and the killing of tens of thousands of powerless Palestinians. China is probably the next country that he will fight when they try to take back Taiwan. He will say it’s to protect freedom and democracy, but it’s all about our economic interest in Taiwan semiconductor manufacturing.
Just like in Ukraine, where he says,we are helping Ukraine to remain free and Democratic, but most of the world believes he is there so that Ukraine can degrade the Russian army, and we can gather priceless intelligence information from the weapons and tactics that Russia uses and it is only several hundred thousand Ukrainians, who will die to help us with our intelligence gathering.

I greatly am against labels for personal reasons, where I don’t like being generalized or marginalized on how I want the world to accept me where I have accepted that people will accept me by how I appear or act, where other people are really proud of expressing themselves whether it be for overcoming adversity or overcoming personal growth.

Or must Japan open up its borders so that, lets say, 20 million people from Africa who are destitute can have a better life? Would they be hateful for saying, Gee, I don't think that's going to work for us. We're not prepared to make this sacrifice of our way of life. But thanks for giving us a choice. That's not hateful. @@Miriam-me have you ever heard the saying anything can be dangerous in excess, because nationalism is that excess of ideological and cultural supremacy. Patriotism involves a healthy respect for a country’s structure and ideals, but it also understands that such administrative bodies and the correlating societal and cultural norms are not perfect and will need adjusting and fine-tuning as ages pass. Nationalism puts specific governmental, cultural, and ideological beliefs on a pedestal, claiming they are perfect and that [insert elites + minority groups] are the real reason why our society is flawed. Patriotism encourages rational thought and change, nationalism only encourages close-mindedness and gradually-increasing extremism (often via a quasi-mythologized version of the country’s history). "trumpanzees" (supporters who see, hear, etc no evil) support him because they share his 7 Deadly Sins characteristics. If you can stand to listen to one without showing judgement, they soon reveal what they have in common--the victim mentality, the "white privilege" of expecting a difference sense of justice to be applied to them, the exaggerated sense of their own worth, the willing to punish, and so on. People defend the most passionately, anything they feels is their identity.
but, also, we didn't just "get trumped" in 2016. Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachman made people like Boebert and MTG seem acceptable. The sense a businessman could fix gov't came to us before in the guise of GW Bush (also accused of fascism)--isn't it ironic those who think businessmen make good presidents always pick the nepotist who went bust?
And there's also the social media algorythms--before the internet you got on a mailing list from the NRA that eventually got you John Birch Society trash in your mailbox. now you simply look up "vaccine denial" and you're down the rabbit hole.

Instead of accepting his defeat, he went to court to have the results annulled on the basis of voter fraud claims. When Donald Trump lost the 2020 presidential election by over 7 million votes and 74 electors, he also refused to accept his loss and claimed voter fraud, bringing a litany of cases before courts in various states in an attempt to force the outcome of his presidency, despite no evidence ever being discovered to validate his claims and all of the cases being dismissed. I think doing so is based on the corporate media’s squeamishness in assigning the “f” word to Trump and his supporters. A large part of this denialism is also based on an entrenched insistence that America is exceptional, that we are a remarkable and strong people, that a Hitler could not flourish here. Ironically, this claim to exceptionalism is a fascist trait, which has always worried me in regard to Americans’ potential to eventually embrace it. And here we are with the most recent polls indicating a dead heat between Trump and Biden. As it happens, Capitalism and socialism are not necessarily opposite or even rival; nothing prevents 'the people" from investing capital and producing goods thereby (capitalism).
Communism is somewhat more defined; "commune" ism; everything held in common, which means nobody owns anything personally. The playbook for this is Thomas More's "Utopia" which sort of sounds appealing and equally terrifying. Of course it cannot work without forced labor; in capitalism labor is *compelled* by necessity but not usually forced. People think of socialism/communism only in terms of Free Stuff For Me; not realizing that someone is making that Free Stuff and it might be YOU doing the making but not personally enjoying the fruit of your labor.

Without the Fox Propaganda Network's 24/7 endorsement and support, distortions and omissions of truth, and expert ability to indoctrinate the weak minded and dumb, Trump would NEVER have managed to win.
In fact, without the entire conservative propaganda machine, most of the worst Republican AND Democratic politicians our nation has been plagued with would never have been able to win their elections.
The conservative propaganda machine is, without a doubt, the biggest threat to national security, the survival of our representative democracy, and our hopes of ever making meaningful progress on ANY of the biggest problems facing mankind. It's long past time that we finally begin taking the threat seriously...

There are a couple other related trends like leftist infighting but it's this one that has worried me so much, esp with Chris Christie types saying bs like they will do whatever they can to keep Coup-y Doo out of office...except vote for Democrats/Biden.

The extreme right-wing and their god-king made it this way. Our lefty extremism was a direct response to their extremism, as they started it. I tried hipping people to Lawrence Britt’s 14 Defining Characteristics of Fascism back in 2015 when Orange started running. I knew what he was before most people saw it. If you remember the past then you’d remember that Fascism wasn’t the problem of the interwar years, it was the symptom. The problems are easily solvable, yet they remain unsolved as the world’s elite keeps moving further and further to the left, trying to destroy every last piece of western heritage. Hitler was right in that there was a problem, because there most definitely was major problems for Weimar Germany in the interwar years, and it very much looks like the USA Today (Hyperinflation, Radical Left-Wing Ideological Encroachment, National Humiliation, Political Chaos). Then again, Hitler was a visionary of his own ideology which had been influenced by his troubled youth and taught his racial hierarchy. Trump is far from Hitler: A successful businessman, thirty years older, never served in combat, wasn’t a very good politician, all of these things are the exact opposite of Hitler. Hitler was a failed artist, veteran WW1 soldier, Charismatic and Expert politician with a very big ideological agenda of his own.

As a Christian outside of the US, I find it astounding that any Christian would see Christ’s teachings and commandments on love, being charitable, tolerant, and giving mercy and grace in any Conservative Party. They are all about blaming the victim, putting ME and MY and the individual first and telling people who are suffering to pull themselves up by their bootstraps, which is such a fallacy for the poor and indigent. Even MLK said, “It is a cruel jest to say to a bootless man that he ought to lift himself by his own bootstraps”. In general I dont have problems with religion, but I see a certain group of people who are drawn to (religious) direction, succumb more easily to a voice of their reasoning that holds power. This empowerment galvanizes to a point where self righteousness becomes a zealous endeavour. Their mindset then states: you're either with us or against us. The MAGA base vs the rest where moderate Republicans are called RINO's. Trumpism is a cult under a false flag of Christianity. I also feel that a lot of people had to suppress their *extreme* polical incorrectness for a long time and now feel vindicated in voicing them out loud. If it's a society led by a strongman for the sake of consolidating society into a rigid, race and gender based hierarchy, then of course they're going to support said hierarchy in the sphere of economics too. Fascism in the economy translates into a rigid hierarchy with your boss having absolute authority and making decisions for himself at the expense of his workers. So yes, fascists will want to wield power in the same way as the corporate class and their interests align to the point where wealthy corporations will likely support fascism.
