I like that very thick/deep frame (even before it was aluminum gilded). The frame very much complemented the lovely painting.

Another cool technique to add to my kit, gold leaf. One of features I like about your frames is the nice shadow line between the frame and the edge of the picture formed from the gap between them. It's a nice mod look.
