Winter Washington Trains in the Snow - 2023

- In late 2022 and early 2023, I ventured out once again to capture trains in the wintertime snow in Western Washington. I've collected several of those scenes into this video, featuring BNSF and Amtrak trains, most of which were filmed around Bellingham, Washington. With the varied scenery and trains, Western Washington is a great place to capture trains traveling through the snow. Included in this video are BNSF freight trains, Amtrak Cascades intercity trains and the Empire Builder.

Snow is ALWAYS a perfect time for railfanning
Your have to wrap up warm, though.🥶
How do people never get cold
Cant agree more!
It's also the most dangerous because enough snow makes the train invisible 0__o
That it is! Thanks for watching!
The distant fading Leslie horn on cold winter day at 13:10 = core memory unlocked.
This is Why I Love "WINTER SEASONING" The Most

Great video! Love snow trains especially in the Puget Sound area. Some of those scenes look like it was damn cold! Brrrrrrr... SR
Thank you, Steve! The coldest one was probably the sunny day with that Amtrak train rolling along the water. If I remember correctly, it was about 10 degrees with a slight breeze. Ended up waiting an hour and a half for that one because they stopped about a mile and a half short of me for over an hour for some reason.
What an amazing video! Ive been watching your videos for years and there hasn't been a single one that i didn't like.
Very nice of you to say! Thank you!

@@CoasterFan2105 You're welcome 👋
Winters are not always the prettiest in Western Washington, but when it snows (on those rare occasions), it's beautiful and silent. Although I originally do come from where much of the footage takes place (Whatcom/Skagit area) , I only recently moved back so I will be seeing more snow hopefully. North and South Western Washington are so different.
I hope to see a winter wonderland soon.
I mean it's still Western Washington, but it's a couple degrees colder in that area and you can feel it.
Cool videos. I’m always love snow trains so cold. 🙂💖
It is very cold! Thanks for watching!

Many thanks and greetings!
I think someday you should do a Train Talk video covering the Siemens Charger Series, despite them still being a very brand new diesel model, but A LOT of interesting variants are ordered and made for North America so far. Also, mention the ACS-64 when covering the origins of this new diesel locomotive.
So I'm assuming this is Washington state Nice video. Subbed your channel.
Sorry if im late
Not late at all! Thanks for watching!
Burrrrrrrrrrrrrr its cold out there
It was pretty cold for Western Washington!

Is it already snowing in Seattle? NYC hasn’t had any snowfall in nearly two years!
I believe those were shot earlier in the year.
@AmtrakandAWVRFan is correct. These scenes were from the very end of last year and beginning of this year. I didn't have space in the schedule to post it then, so now seemed like a good time as we get ready for winter again in the PNW. Thanks for watching!
Very good video!!!! Can I ask what kind of device do you use to record?
So when older locomotives are disabled after retirement are they supposed to get scrapped
