I find this extremely interesting and fascinating because, although I am still in High School, I want to familiarize myself with the medical school process as much as I possibly can. This, along with volunteering in a hospital, is a very helpful way to see if this is the career path I want to pursue. Keep making these!!
Hi Jamie! Good luck on the rest of your interviews - you speak so well I'm sure you have done really well so far!! Did any of the schools as you about your vlog?
Hi Jamie, I am not medical student or going to career to medicine, but I love to see your videos after I come back from work. I feel I become more productive and organized after the work hours, helping me to plan out my engineering career. Thanks! I hope you the best results
I'm not in med school, nursing, or a paramedic program but I find your videos extremely fascinating, informative and interesting..!! From all topics covered across the spectrum.. =)
I am not a medical student but I really enjoy hearing all about the medical student life. Keep doing what you do and wish you the best of luck into becoming a great doctor.
I am at a community college doing general education credits for transfer. Although I have no clue what I will be majoring in, I love watching medical student vlogs. I have been subscribed for a year and you are by far my favorite med school vlogger. you are very disciplined and clearly your studies are very important. I also study with your study with me videos. Thanks Jamie for providing me with tons of motivation to get to where I want to be!
Your videos are very encouraging and educational to watch. I also really appreciate all the time you take into making your videos aesthetically pleasing, despite being so busy all the time. I definitely enjoy all of your videos!
These videos are great! I'm also a fourth year medical student trying to match into EM. I think it's fun comparing and contrasting the way different applicants go about achieving the same goal. Good luck with all of your interviews!
Very interesting video. I am not in medicine but I am a mastered prepared nurse. I like your work ethic and have mimicked yours as much as possible. Thank you again for sharing your life
Looking good lady! I'm not even a med student but I've been watching your videos for a year or so and I totally love them! I've had an interview as a history student and pretty much all you get to answer is why you want to engage with a specific subject or what are your targets for the future.
maybe you can generalise the process of your interview. Almost everyone has to go through 'interview' of any kind at some point in their life. So you could show us some tips on how to prep for interview in general (e.g., how to come up with interview questions, how to ease yourself).
As someone that is also interviewing for residency positions (in Psychiatry, though), I really appreciate the look into your experiences. Thanks for the videos!
Wish you all the best!! I like how you vlog even the day before, I was a heap of nerves before all my medical interviews vlogging would be challenging lol
i would definitely want to see more about the interviews as it even helps aspiring medical students a lot. please do post more about your experience of interviews
I liked this video, although I would love to see more of your organizing "program" because you are on fire haha, I mean good camera skills, amazing videos, you rock at school and have a good relationship :O How is this even possible? Tips and tricks maybe? :D Good luck with your interviews!
Definitely keep the videos during interview season coming! I'm a premed and it's interesting to watch these videos! Please keep them coming : ) and good luck for all your interviews!
If only there's a heart ❤️ button. I'm so proud of you Jamie! I feel like I know you personally because of your transparency in sharing your life in your videos. 😊 When med school gets tough for me, I think about how cool you've handled it and made it through, which keeps me motivated. Keep inspiring! More power! God bless you always. 😘
I'm not studying medicine or am in this kind of field of work at all but I think your content is relevant for other professions too! :) Good luck with your next interviews!
First one is always stressful but now you're past that and can settle in so congratulations! This is one of the reasons people say to schedule a few interviews at places not high on your list in the beginning of the season so that you can get comfortable with the questions and format. Then you can really crush it when you get to the programs high on your list!
Haha they will! The one question you will get sick of answering is, "What questions do you have for me?". However, enjoy it as much as you possibly can because it is fun traveling and sharing all you have accomplished and bragging a little bit. You've earned it!
I find this very interesting, because the process of choosing a speciality is completely different here in Portugal, and I've actually finished med school this year and I'm on that process right now... we don't have interviews! Just a final exam that all new doctors do at the same day and time in the whole country.
Love seeing the interview process. Anything you upload will be watched by me! I will be applying to medical school in a little over a year. You're very motivating and a great role model 💗
I️ hope I️t went well! You should talk about the questions they ask you. I’m premed in undergrad right now and am definitely a viewer interested in the medical side of things (and your talent with these videos) :)
I decided to try care/of and my recommendations looked a lot like yours, and I'm excited to try! With you discount code it was only $11 thanks so much!
Thank you for this video. I did not know that residency interview dates are competitive. Can you tell me how the medical school interview dates work? Your organization is on point, it inspires me to also achieve that level. Your videos help me understand the future of medical students. It makes me happy and always looking forward when you upload videos.
This has been really helpful! I'd love to know how you went about finding the residencies that were the right fit for you when you were applying and if your school creates your schedule for your 4th year or if you have to find the hospitals and rotation schedules? Thanks!
I'm so proud of you Jamie unnie!! :) I'm sure your interview went well. Yes! please do continue vlogging your interview process - I'm about to interview pretty soon for my first speech pathology job (I'm graduating soon ahh) so these videos are giving me life 😊 Praying for plenty of favour and wisdom for you and rooting for you always! X -Claire 😍😍
This is so helpful but can you do a video addressing specific about residency interviews. Like what questions are commonly asked. What does the interview entail (tour? Panel style? How long are your interviews? ) thanks!
Hey Jamie! I love the variety in your videos & your content is always top-notch. I have two interviews for med school coming up (one's on Halloween!) I recently (literally an hour ago) got over my anxiety/nervousness for the interview experience. Any advice for staying cool & comfortable during the interview? Any tips to lesson the fear of failure would help me out tremendously. Thank you! :)
Great video..!! Good luck for your interviews.. (y) Kindly make a video about your step scores along with time frame like when did you gave step 1, 2, CS etc. I am unable to find those videos if you have already made one..!! :)
JoyfishXO, you have just been accepted into our family, good luck!!!! "wherever the Art of Medicine is loved, there is Also a Love for humanity" - Hippocrates
Hey Jamie, I just wanted to recognize you for all your hard work. You're time management is impeccable, and I truly admire you for all you're able to do while maintaining a full-time med student status. Quick question: Would you say med school requires mostly studying and test prep in comparison to written assignments? I'm currently in undergrad and I rarely ever have tests, but I have multiple assignments due every week for each class. I'm curious as to how med school compares to undergrad? Thank you!
I hope you will continue to share your interview process. Q. I wanted to know has your social media presence come up in your interviews and/or during your rotations? Your intellect, work ethics, and personality are apparent in your videos, which are also characteristics that most people have to wait to be interviewed to show. I wish more people would talk about how they manage their online life, especially if they have a career outside of RUclips. Maybe your thoughts could be beneficial to those with a smaller platform like Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and Indeed etc. Thanks for sharing.
Did u do any surgery interview? You are the only way I can somehow have some connections with med school, and just want to say you are sooooo inspirational, love u
Very interesting thank you! Just curious but did your social media/youtube come up in the interview?? I feel like if I was an interviewer this part of your life would intrigue me so much!
Hey Jamie! Thank you for sharing this process with us! Been following your story since your first year! I am in the cycle for med school this year so I'm excited to hear back from schools. I was wondering if you could describe more of the interview and match process? Do you apply to interviews within a specialty or is it general? Also, are you still in between EM and surgery or have you decided on EM? Good luck on your interviews! Can't wait to hear/see the results! lol
Heard a story from a resident last year who said a program asked him this. If you were stranded on an island and could choose 3 drugs to have with you in unlimited supply what would they be?
really haven't had any tricky questions yet! It's been pretty straight forward (tell me about yourself, what do you like to do in your free time, why EM, etc)
I want to be a doctor.... its my number one priority and passion. But i love youtubing... i love socialising with people on social media. would youtubing hamper with my career life as a doctor? i would love to hear you talk about it
I really don't feel that this video is something irrelevant to people that are not interested in med sch as the tips you gave are not only applicable for residency interview but basically most interviews in general including my oral presentation that is coming up.So thanks a lot for your tips!!🙆♀️ FYI Oral presentation is an important component that makes up 40% of my overall project work grade,a subject that is complusary for all A level students in Singapore
I got US president volunteer Gold award for serving as volunteer to help local community patient care. Should I wear award pin on coat during interview or its too much. Please advice. thanks
I finally decided to go ahead with my gut and enter a pre med/biomed major next school year, I feel bad starting a year late but I just had no clue what I wanted. I don’t know if you check comments days after you posted but I just wanted to ask for any advice you or anyone might have for pre med? The program I’m looking at is set up to have only one class per month, and it’s that way to really keep you focused and successful. It’s probably not as hardcore as some programs, but I’m still nervous when it comes to studying and having enough time to remember what I’m learning. Also any tips someone might have for really making a lap top useful let me know! I’m not great at utilizing it as much as I could. Literally any small things I can do to make life and studying as efficient and simple as possible please let me know! Definitely rambled here but thanks man advance(:
I am very interested in going to med school. Currently I am in nursing school so I’m kinda like stuck in between whether I should continue with nursing and get my bachelors or try something else and work towards med schools. Any suggestions? Do you know anyone in your class that were nurses but later went to med school?
have you completed step 2?you mentioned that you have given step 2 but you got your scores?... because i assume that for residency programe you are required to complete step 1&2(both)
Hope it went well Jamie! I have good news--I just received a med school acceptance letter this week 😊
Thank you for your encouragement through your videos :)
Good Job!
JoyfishXO Congratulations and good luck in med school
Congrats!!
Good for you ! I started med school in the begining of October
Please continue vlogging during your interview period ! It's so helpful
I find this extremely interesting and fascinating because, although I am still in High School, I want to familiarize myself with the medical school process as much as I possibly can. I absolutely love the way you do sponsored videos. Usually sponsored videos turn me off but you do it so genuinely.
Hi Jamie! Good luck on the rest of your interviews - you speak so well I'm sure you have done really well so far!! Did any of the schools as you about your vlog?
I've been following you since you first started medical school and it makes me kind of emotional to see you prepare for interviews!!!! 😭❤
awww thank you! it means a lot to have you guys support me through this journey
Hi Jamie, I am not medical student or going to career to medicine, but I love to see your videos after I come back from work. I feel I become more productive and organized after the work hours, helping me to plan out my engineering career. Thanks! I hope you the best results
I love hearing about residency and the interview process!! Its hard to actually grasp whats it all about so thank you for doing these :)

Im a first year and this is so interesting to me. Gives me a good preview :)
How does a residency interview even work? Would you consider it more stressful than your med school interviews?
Thank you care/of is just what I need.

Hi, are the residency interviews the same as the match ?

I am very interested in going to med school. Do you know anyone in your class that were nurses but later went to med school?
