Really random but I've been watching your videos for about 4 months now and I want to thank you for always putting captions. I use hearing aids, my hearing started to fade recently due to an auto immune disorder, and I tend to take them out at night or when I study to get rid of distractions and the captions help so much when watching your videos and make it way easier than trying to read lips since I'm still new to it. No one adds captions when speaking English since they think that they won't be needed but you do and it's amazing!
Wow, I remember when I first started watching you Jamie, the 'struggle' then was Step 1. Now you're already going for residency interviews, and will soon be done with med school and what not. And although I don't know you personally, I just feel so proud of you, lol. Like really, you're such a hard worker; I remember when I was in a rut with studying and just med school in general, your videos would encourage & challenge me, and I'm not lying when I say, your 'Study with me' videos helped me tremendously. I pray that at the end of the day you match to your top choice and get to spend the next few years of your life working at a place that you love. All the best, and God bless.
thank you so much! It's been an amazing experience to share all my struggles, hopes, and dreams with everyone. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for keeping me in your prayers
I had to pause to comment. I'm 32 with no plans on going back to school. I find you videos to be very informative and interesting. Thanks for the knowledge!
Im a british medical student. I love your videos! It is interesting to see how medicine is taught in different parts of the world and the process of schooling.
I am a premed. I work as a ED medical scribe for the residents, and have absolutely fallen in love with EM. The process and mentality is so fast paced and broad. It’s such a thrill.
Just want you to know that you’re so inspiring for me. I’m a medical student from Brazil dreaming to do residency in the USA and your videos motivates me to keep fighting for my dreams. Thank you!
I vlogged my match day letter openings for my friends and I and would recommend you do it. It was utterly terrifying at the time but is now a video I will cherish forever. It's by far my most favorite RUclips video I've made and I often re-watch to relive that experience. Enjoy the interview trail! - Mike
I'm studying nutrition in grad school and we also have a "match day" (but it's for internship programs). It's such a big and scary day - but I believe you will get into the school you deserve Jamie :) Stay positive!
Your videos are always so helpful and insightful, i love watching them! I'm a second year medical student, and I just recently started my channel as well to bring some more exposure to the world of medical school! So cool to see the medical community represented on RUclips
"Are you a robot" hahahaha.. loved this video. I'm studying medicine in a PA program and while we are not required to complete a residency to practice, you pretty much have to for emergency medicine or surgery. Thank you for the tips!!! :)
the uk system is soo different! we specialise almost 4 years after graduating! thats huge pressure for medical students!! how did you know EM was for you?
It is a lot of pressure.. I honestly couldn't decide that early on.. Pretty much a huge reason why I decided to become a PA instead.. lateral mobility ;) lol
Wow you guys specialise early!! I couldn’t imagine specialising next year 😬 I’m still unsure which specialty I want to be in and I’m in my penultimate year. I’m making videos on the different specialties hopefully that’ll help me choose
Thanks for all the great info!! I always love your videos and am currently studying / and applying to universities as a high school senior aspiring to be an orthopedic surgeon one day
Jamie, does being a medical school RUclipsr increase your chances of getting matched or do you get some sort of special treatment. if you go to the hospitals do you find healthcare professionals that recognize you and are excited for you to work in their hospital? I loved ❤️ this video it was very informative.
I know it is kind of impolite to ask your age, but actually inspired by your videos and it makes me want to study medicine school. But I am afraid I am 27. Is it too late for medical school?
its never too late for med school, especially if it really is your dream. But think it through multiple times, because you med school takes a long time. I wish you luck, hope you choose the med path!
Honestly, I felt the same way. I am in a PA program so the training is much shorter, however I still had doubts going in at almost 28 years old. My mom's best advice: "How old will you be in ten years if you go to medical school? Now, how old will you be if you don't?" Boom. Time will go by either way, so the only difference is you'll either be closer to your goal or you won't. Go for it :)
I love your videos! Especially the study-with-me. I was wondering if you have to accept your "match" even if you don't want to go there, or do you have an option to wait for the location you wanted the most?
hi Jamie... I'm Malem from Russia medical university... I'm very glad if you answers my question....at social media like RUclips which professor's lecture do u mostly listen?? and thanks a lot.... I m looking forward to your vlog.... I'm really happy with your vlog
Any tips for pre med studying? 🤗 The school I’m going to only does one class per month so I’ll have plenty of time to focus on each subject. What’s the best notes to save for the MCAT and first year during med?
Love your videos!! I'm a first year medical student and I was wondering if you have any advice on how to study neuro? Question banks? Books? Anything? Thank you!!!I have to take the NBME for neuro... thank you!!
Since you basically work at the hospital during your 3rd and 4th year rotations, do you get paid? I know that this might be a dumb question but I've always wondered it. PS: good luck with all your interviews!!!
Hey Jamie! I'm curious to know how did you actually study, like did you write down the stuff, made flashcards or just reread. I know you did anki . What methods did you apply to studying?
I think there are different definitions of specialization, like say cardiology where after residency in what ever residency specialization, 3 more years of study are needed. "In order to become a cardiologist, one must undergo four years of medical school as well as three years of internal medicine training. Finally, one must complete three more years of what is called specialized training." In Canada at least many of the "ologies" necessitate years of specialization ONTOP of residency.
Hey there . I wanna ask that is there any other way for international medical graduated students to get residency in USA other than to qualify USMLE all 4 steps that u have given ...
Sayeh Rahbari first is SOAP where unmatched students talk to unfilled programs during match week and hopefully find a spot by Friday and look like you matched like normal. Failing that you reapply perhaps having done more research or addressing some other perceived weakness.
Hey, am an Indian medical student currently a month away from internship... And am planning to pursue further studies in the USA...... And am planning to take the Step 2 Before Step1 during the initial moths of internship (coz its similar to the exams am currently writing) .... So any advice on how to allocate time and make an effective Step 2 plan?? Anyone?
I NEED HELP I’m coming to New York this summer to take a USMLE step 1 preparation course ( at Kaplan - I’m from Saudi) I need cheap housing options/ home stays. I’ve searched google but I’ve found nothing within my price range or the area I want. If anyone one knows or knows where I can find them online please help me.

I discovered you 13 months ago and I've been watching every video you uploaded from that time on til now and continuing forever lol.
the uk system is soo different! we specialise almost 4 years after graduating! thats huge pressure for medical students!! how did you know EM was for you?
London's Journal I can’t imagine having to decide that early, I’m just going to focus on making RUclips videos for now haha
Asclepium hahah me too!!
Can you quickly explain how you specialize in the UK? Like 4 years after graduating from medical school? What do you do for the 4 years?
Same here in Turkey 😐
It is a lot of pressure.. I honestly couldn't decide that early on.. Pretty much a huge reason why I decided to become a PA instead.. lateral mobility ;) lol
Watch Chicago Med because it focuses most on the Emergency Department
Love You and your vids❤❤
Fourth Mundane Chicago Fire is also awesome because of the EMT aspect
Elizabeth's Ecesis I do watch all the Chicago series 😁

Wow you guys specialise early!! I couldn’t imagine specialising next year 😬 I’m still unsure which specialty I want to be in and I’m in my penultimate year. I’m making videos on the different specialties hopefully that’ll help me choose
you're channel is so relaxed and informative! I definitely had to subscribe
There is a matching algorithm! They use the field of Graph Theory (in discrete mathematics) to assign as "optimally" as possible.
Haha Candy is so cute! Having a pet in medical school is so nice. Love to come home from a long day to my cats. Best of luck with residency interviews
Thanks for all the great info!! I always love your videos and am currently studying / and applying to universities as a high school senior aspiring to be an orthopedic surgeon one day

27 isn't too late at all. I know alot of 30, 35 and even some 40 year old medical students. If Medicine is truly your passion, go for it!!!
its never too late for med school, especially if it really is your dream. But think it through multiple times, because you med school takes a long time. I wish you luck, hope you choose the med path!
No, I heard that some start med school in 50. Is it your dream go for it. Don't think about your age. Go for it.

What a nice words of your mom. Do you know how many years normally it does take to become a consultant Dr.
Woo! so glad you want to go into EM. It's the best! I'll also be applying for EM after med school :)
That suitcase looks really amazing!
Although I am not there just yet but this was very helpful! Clinicals go by SO FAST!!!
I love your videos! Especially the study-with-me. I was wondering if you have to accept your "match" even if you don't want to go there, or do you have an option to wait for the location you wanted the most?
I was the 1.2k like. So satisfying. I love your vids. And this is so helpful
Can you do a video about keeping up with a relationship in medical school?
How hard is it to get into neurosurgery residency?

EM is definitely on my list -- what did you think of the Standardized Video Interview?
Hey Jamie! I'm curious to know how did you actually study, like did you write down the stuff, made flashcards or just reread. I know you did anki . What methods did you apply to studying?
What medical school do you attend?

Can you please do an apple watch review or impression please? I want to buy one and it would be very helpful 😊
is it possible for someone not to get matched? and if so what do they do?
Sayeh Rahbari first is SOAP where unmatched students talk to unfilled programs during match week and hopefully find a spot by Friday and look like you matched like normal. Failing that you reapply perhaps having done more research or addressing some other perceived weakness.
I am studying RT and I feel sooo much pressure what I should do because I study in English and my mother language is Arabic
How long do interviews usually last?
What happens if you do not match? or does everybody match?
