Wasn’t sure if I should pick this book up as i do love Ali Hazelwood but this book is different from her other books. Based on what you’ve said sounds like this book is definitely for me so just brought it.
Yesss!!! 👏 👏 I hope you enjoy it 🎉
i actually bought and read this book in two days...hahah loved it.
YESSS I'm so glad to hear that :)@@noragoodspeed8013
You know it’s funny because I’ve followed Ali’s
writing for years way before she became a published author, I was there for the whole thing as a fan. I know a lot of people are very surprised that she’s writing a paranormal romance but if you know her writing, you know that she loves this stuff and so I was really excited to see this one come out because it is different for her in the publishing world, and I understood your frustration with the stem novels. I think what happen in my honest opinion is that they saw how big love hypothesis got, and they wanted to bring out so much more material from her as fast as they could. I know that most of the Novelas started from one shots because I read them in their original form too, but I even as a longtime fan had the same frustrations as you, I think we’re different opinion in terms of what books we like though because well, I love, love, theoretically, probably my least favorite of the series is love on the brain. The twilight references crack me up in love, theoretically and I also liked that I think the main character faces imposter syndrome. She never think she’s good enough and I thought that was different. Check &mate blew me away, but I think it writes siblings in a way that was hysterical. It was also completely different for her as well. Now I’m excited about Bride i’m only on chapter 2, but I see the quirky world building for example, vampires age. They can also handle some sunlight so as a fan I’m incredibly proud. PS if you ever pick up love theoretically again, there is an olive and Adam sneak peek.
I really, really appreciate this very thoughtful and in depth comment. Thank you for taking the time to type all this out. I will get back to love, theoretically and make a video about it in the near future!! I’m glad you are such a strong fan that’s really cool that you’ve followed her for such a long time. You’re for sure right about them trying to sell after the love hypothesis. I’m glad she’s finally branching out into other things. She’s a very talented author! Thanks again!!! :)
I don't have super strong feelings about Ali Hazelwood. I read two of her STEM romances and thought they were fine. I finished Bride but I feel kind of middle of the road about it as well. I've only read a few Omega verse books but comparatively this one is pretty light due to the fact that they're not both shifters/werewolves. Those elements are really just dropped into a few spicy scenes. My biggest criticism of the book was that there was a little too much packed into the plot. The mystery/marriage/pack dynamics/family trauma/self acceptance. There was an effort to bring all of the story lines together at the end but it just felt a little messy.
Yeah I agree about the storylines and the world building, there being too much packed into one. Good points you said that well!
Love this review! Im very curious about bride. I was nervous when you said you dnf'd eek.
it's certainly not for everyone but I think if you like any of the things that I didn't you are likely to enjoy it :)
I support ali Hazelwood as a former fanfic writer myself lmao (I wasn’t a reylo writer tho). I didn’t like her Love theoretically too much, but, so far I’m liking Bride. Something is really cool about seeing a someone turn their fanfic writing into a successful career
I also love seeing fanfic tropes make it to mainstream, honestly.
That is a very good point and so many have negative things to say about her because she wrote fan fic but I think, like you're saying that's a great way of getting into writing and I LOVE her works. Even the ones I don't enjoy myself I can see value in. I really love her stuff.
I loved every part you didn’t like haha^^ thank you so much for the review it made me so excited to read the book in the first place❣️
yessss I love that!!! I'm so glad. That's why I made the video anyway hoping this would happen!
Our Ali Hazelwood opinions are so different 😂 (I disliked The Love Hypothesis and all the novellas, Check & Mate was alright, I really liked Love on the Brain, and I loved Love, Theoretically). But we can both agree that we’ll try everything she comes out with! Her writing style is so addicting that I enjoy the read even when I don’t like the story lol. I don’t have much experience reading paranormal but the mates thing creeps me out too, so I’ll see how I feel about Bride when my hold at my library comes in. If I love it, I’ll know I’ll take the reverse if your opinion on all her books, which is also useful in its own way 😂
I love this. There is so much usefulness (this doesn't make sense but you'll see what I mean) when someone has a different taste than you, it does still inform you of rather you would like it or not. And we as readers are all moody anyway so could always be a hit or miss but an educated hit or miss lol. If you think of it, come back here and let me know if you like Bride because we need to know for our equation of likes and dislikes LOL
Awesome video 💯‼️ I agree with @kiute.c in that Love Hypothesis is my least favourite book and for me it’s because I am a stem girl and I have never seen any stem guys that are 6’4 and have six pack abs while the girls are 5’0 or 5’4. Also thank you for discussing Bride as I have been trying to decide if I want to read her paranormal stories.
yes to all of this!!@@logann-mackenziefroste563
I am pretty convinced it will be a botm pick and I was waffling back and forth whether I should give it a go or not. I haven't read any of her books because the STEMinism seems a little too GirlBoss vibes for me. Thanks for the review because I think I am gonna skip now lol
Hahaha I’m dead “too GirlBoss vibes for me” 😂 love it. It is very girl boss this is factual information 😂
Ali Hazelwood works in STEM what she writes seems to come from experience. And even recently I had taken stem classes, and I was one of 3 girls in a full class for programming, and 1 of 2 in an upper level calc class so honestly she is so real for her STEMinism 😭
great review!!,,! i just got this book for v-day but now im really loojing forward to trying it out!!
What a great V day gift!!! Enjoy 😊
Idk why I thought this was a vampire romance
The female MC is a vampire but she’s marrying a werewolf. And it’s mostly centered around that.
Ali Hazelwood is on my auto no buy author list, ;D
this is an important list to have too lol
No she can't do paranormal because vampires and werewolves are not paranormal, they're supernatural
Claps and snaps everyone.
