+lola redd It's not sad. She's the only Academy Award winner in the cast and well deserved. Besides, she brings attention to the film, brings in an audience that otherwise wouldn't have come and THEN they fall in love with the other actors. And FYI James McAvoy has been around for the longest time too.
yes she is an oscar winner but i don't think she is the core reason this trilogy is as big as it is. the acting of james mcavoy and michael fassbender is truly the saving grace of the series. then we have quicksilver, nightclawler, jean, and many more. if you read any of the reviews, you will understand that quicksilver's and magneto's story lines are without a doubt the highlights of the entire move.
+lola redd of course not, but it's naive to ignore her impact. This movie IS bigger than Jennifer Lawrence, obviously, but her effect on publicity is higher than anyone else's here, no matter how old, experienced or talented. And that influence was and is never a bad thing.

Look at Oscar Isaac's side eye when Jennifer Lawrence butted in with her "He is the meanest person I've ever met" attempt at spontaneous humor. You can tell that he was not particularly fond of her and was thinking to himself something like "That's pretty rich coming from you." This is even more emphasized by that awkward insert shot of him laughing in close-up that was clearly edited out of context to make it appear like he laughed at that joke.

This is the best super-hero movie of the summer: no shaky camerawork, no sludgy narrative, no queasy protecting an unstable mass murderer because he was Cap's bud in 1940., just clear scene-building and human, relatable storytelling.

Any english person trying to go american accent will have a hard time at the start of the career. Keira Knightly, Lena Heady, Sir Patrick Stewart, Daniel Radcliff the list goes on. Give Sophie time and she'll be a great Jean Grey. Watched the movie because of her and Evan Peters, they're cool.
absolutely. This was her very first movie doing an American accent. She's not bad. She's a good Jean Grey. As a theater major I tend to watch acting in movies critically, and when I heard people say Sophie wasn't good in Apocalypse, I decided to watch it for myself and I was actually quite surprised because I've never seen her act in anything before. My favorite scene in the movie is the scene with Jean's nightmare, and the way she portrayed Jean's fear of hurting somebody with her powers, I felt that Sophie's performance was very genuine. I cannot wait to see her in X-Men Dark Phoenix she's going to kick ass

I don't know if this is the actors choice or not because usually Michael and James do their interviews together but Michael and Oscar really hit it off going to dinner and getting drunk but it's not like they're doing interviews together either. Oscar flies solo typically, which makes sense.

It was a pretty good movie. While I thought that Sophie's character was cool, her acting seemed really stale, in my opinion, but that might have just been from nerves.

I'm not a huge J.Law fan myself, but I honestly don't get comments like this. When she's being serious in her answers, people say she looks bored or is being stuck up. When she's bubbly and happy, people say she tries too hard to be funny. It's not like she has a choice with going to these interviews either. And even if she were bored, I could totally understand. Flying from one city and country to another and having to answer repeated questions with very little sleep...She's just being human. Just because she's a celebrity actress, it doesn't mean that she has to be perfect in front of the camera all the time. She's completely entitled to be however she wants in interviews. And it's evident that not all these hosts/interviewers are very competent at their jobs. You can tell who are the ones the celebrities feel more comfortable with and let their guard down, versus the ones where they put up a wall.
