@@michaelmalodrums9674 I was using a Sigma 150-600mm at 600mm. Lots of clouds the last few nights so I had to go with a street lamp that was off in the distance to show the lines the filter makes.
@@willchaneyphoto oh ok 👍🏼 I was going to ask if you think if you were doing a wide angle star view shoot like at 20 mm would this focus at 400 % still work the same being the stars would be so small in the field of view ? Thanks :)
@@michaelmalodrums9674 oh you’re talking about the first example I showed. Sorry my mind went strait to the Bahtinov Filter one. The one I showed examples of the 400% zoom were with the Nikon Z 14-24mm at 14mm. So yes, you can definitely use this technique at 20mm. Luckily I shot that several days ago when we actually had clear skies haha
I like that the actually give you distance information now however, it would be nice to have focal length info as well, for those times when you are comparing zooms at areas where there are no markings on the lens. Having more shutter sound options is good and the option to make the focus point box border larger is nice, would have been great if we got the manual focus subject detection from the Zf.
Nikon please, on the Z8 we would like for next firmware version 3.0, when we turn the top Control Panel display ON, to be a little brighter and with a little more contrast
Interesting that on the Z8 it seems to use auto brightness where as other Z models give the user the option to increase the level of the control panel.
Not sure your point, but if it’s that I don’t blink when I’m talking in my video takes I’ve never noticed that before and I’m dying laughing at this comment haha I’ll have to work on it that and blink twice in the next one.
its a nice addition to the Z 8 for any type of work where checking focus is crucial .
It absolutely is. I’m glad they did it.
@@willchaneyphoto what lens and at what focal length were you using during the test in the video ? thanks.

wow cool!
It’s a small detail but exciting!

@@willchaneyphoto not just that Auto Brightness is dim, but when you turn ON the top Control Panel the screen is not bright and contrasty enough
Are you being held against your will? Blink twice if yes 😂
