Absolutely not, only delulu people think they're canon. Genshin has no canon couples (be they queer or straight) because it's a Gacha. All playable characters have several implied love interests - including Kaveh and Haitham.
They're not gay either, btw. Both Kaveh and Haitham are written as bisexuals.
If I were to list how Alhaitham in particular displayed his enormous affection toward the Traveler the delulu Haikaveh shippers would have a meltdown. Like...the dude ain't even that subtle (on occasion), the fans are just too preoccupied with him and Kaveh to notice what a colossal Traveler simp Alhaitham is.

You might say it’s canon or not but it doesn’t matter actually. We as outsiders sometimes don’t understand. Just imagine yourself on one of their places. Just imagine and you’ll understand that you don’t simply live with your ex friend in the same house arguing and consulting the level of pictures on the wall. You just don’t. And if you really do that there is no way you’re “just roommates that used to be friends” lol, grow up. It’s like watching a cartoon you used to watch as a kid, but now as an adult it finally makes sense.

Allow me to burst your "Kaveh and Alhaitham are canon" bubble a little bit (cause I'm getting real tired of seeing it).
Do y'all not realize what Alhaitham did by inviting the Traveler to his house?
Alhaitham had a long day, the dude was tired and wanted to rest. Not only that but he has a roommate that doesn't want other people to know he lives with Alhaitham.
So what did the scribe do? Shake off the Traveler and go home to his "husband"? No. He took the Traveler home, thereby prioritizing the Traveler over his rest and Kaveh's need for secrecy.
So basically:
Traveler > Kaveh and a nap
Not only that, but we also learn several things from Kaveh about Alhaitham. Namely, that he never brings people home which implies that he must have a special attachment to the Traveler. Also, the scribe is usually not a good conversationalist yet he was making an effort for the Traveler; even warning Kaveh about his poor treatment of his guests. And he warned Kaveh not once, but twice.
He hammered the point home that the Traveler will be treated properly under his roof, even Kaveh doesn't get a pass. Alhaitham was giving protective boyfriend vibes. Not that the shippers noticed, they were too busy gushing over Haikaveh bickering to pay attention to something that's actually cute. Namely Alhaitham being a protective sweetheart.
On top of that, there is a part in the Archon Quest where Alhaitham says he won't lend his books to the Traveler because they're too difficult. Yet what does he do when they come to his home? He lends them the books. Those same books he knows are too difficult, which means he'll have to be the one to explain things in the end. Yet he goes through with it anyway because he wants to, because he cares.
Alhaitham is so whipped, I swear 😂
Before I forget, there's also this terrible notion among Haikaveh shippers that Alhaitham "kicked out the Traveler" so he could be alone with Kaveh. Erm...reality check. Alhaitham overheard the Traveler and Paimon whispering about wanting to leave, a fact shippers completely ignore.
And it just so happens that soon after Alhaitham mentioned wanting to have dinner, suggesting the Traveler get some as well. Listen...if you didn't realize how this was Alhaitham's way of allowing them to retreat your media literacy is not the best.
Alhaitham would've had them stay for longer but upon hearing their wish to leave he made up an excuse so they could depart. He selflessly put their desires before his own yet people treat that touching moment as him "kicking them out."

Just to be clear; in no way am I saying Alhaitham and Kaveh aren't implied - they are - but so are Traveler and Alhaitham. That's the thing with Genshin. You have tons of shipping since nothing is canon. So please don't feed your delusions about these two being canon. They're not.
