Never underestimate a gamers urge to climb to the highest point they can and jump off.
Not just me then haha
Basically a must
" The call of the void (in French, l'appel du vide) describes this impulse to hurl yourself into, well, a void. While unnerving, it's actually a pretty common experience."
I think it's Gamers rule #3. lol
We are Lemmings
The Crackdown tower is definitely the most memorable to me. Slowly getting more and more agility orbs and seeing if I could get further up until I’m able to get to the top. I wish that series didn’t crash and burn.
Yeah, I loved the series, I anticipated the 3rd one for many years. Even with all the delays the game was still half baked.
@@samisbatman3983 Yeah, it's so disappointing.
Yep, great game
Yea I loved the first one. I think the 2nd one suffered from trying to get into the zombie hype of the time. I would have been happy with just more of the same. Never played the 3rd, I thought I saw it was going to be an fps?? I dunno.
@@xAshesxElitexon Gamepass so why not give it a go. It's not the best but it's fairly fun. I just mess around with keys to the city cheats lol
I remember performing Leap of faith in Assassin's Creed for the first time it looked revolutionary that time. Time flies like a falcon.
The Church Spire in Acre is much higher than that mini jump in Valhalla.
@@NominalInterestbut valhallas tallest jump is a lot taller than any of the ac games
@adarshsridhar6051 naw, some are, some aren't, all perspective my friend 😊🤣
@@NominalInterestit literally is tho. Statistically it’s the highest in any AC game
TotK is absolutely just a free fall simulator disguised as a Zelda game and I love it. You also don't need a fairy, just the skydiving outfit lol
Jumping off shit is the only fun thing about totk or botw

This is PEAK Gameranx content.
Informative.
Hilarious.
11/10
Yeah peak indeed of their content. I especially love that part where every single one of their recent videos feels like script was written by AI
gameranx is the watchmojo of games.
@@KapitanPazur1yeah you know what else I think is peak content? The way they always say “we’re down in the comments as much as possible but things can get a little crazy” yet the comments of every one of their videos is filled with replies of just “👍” or generic one word responses like “thanks” or “hello”. That’s what feels like AI to me. Just blatant lying. They’re not “down in the comments” it’s just bot replies.
@@ash-n-joker That's not even close to the most heinous shit they've done seeing as they've literally directly stolen content from much smaller creators. Even worse, when they got called out, they doubled down for a long time before admitting to it, and even then started justifying their behavior alongside their half baked apology.
@@ledumpsterfire6474 if I’m honest, I fucking hate big channels, the fame gets to their head, they think they can get away with anything. That’s why I never like their videos or do RUclips memberships or anything for big creators. I only sub to them for before you buys of games I’m interested in. Other than that I never support big creators. Smaller creators with honesty and integrity deserve my membership and likes only
Extra points for ragdoll physics! A great weekend to all! ❤
I just wanted to say! seeing spider mann finish a rubix cube then immediately turning around in a split panicked state then bouncing off the floor while falcon says “before becoming one with the cement” was absolutely hilarious and it caught me off guard
Ending the Arkham Knight clip with Batman getting hit with the car was perfect. 🤣
I don’t know if these count, but in Morrwind, Sheogorath The Deadric Prince of Madness, teleports you to the top of the map and has you fall if you attack him. Also in The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt, Yennefer teleports you above a lake and you fall into it if you piss her off during a conversation
This is true - but it's in the DLC for Oblivion instead.
@@philipcampbell5646 Shimmering Isles DLC for Oblivion. Got that mixed up with Morrowind. Thanks for the catch!
@@foxmind2490funny thing is he did that multiple times obviously when you noticed there are skeletons everywhere where you fell
My favorite high jump is in Far Cry 4. You find a small pond (the smaller the better) then ride the Buzzer straight up and when the altitude thing starts beeping you step off it. Ideally, you will fall right into the pond and live. One time, as I was falling I started hearing gun shots below. When I landed in the water and came up, I saw a shoot out right there next to the pond. About three seconds later the Buzzer came crashing down on the two bad guys and...Karmic Event Completed.
The Sabatour was such a good game that many overlooked. That jump in the pond, i think there was an anchievement for jumping off the tower into the pond.
love that game. so underrated. still is 1 of my all time favorite open world games ever
Imagine a remake with current graphics levels, instant buy!
My most favorite jump even after 12 years is still Damavant Peak in BF3. Just the feeling when you have to retreat or attack when the next sector is unlocked.
A buddy of mine cleared Morrowind in two jumps with a custom potion. He made it from the beach to the top of the volcano, then jumped to the far beach. Hit the ground in 2-foot of water, got stunned, and drowned lol.
My buddy and I cheated to set acrobatics into the thousands, and thought we'd try jumping across the map. WHOOMPH, straight into the air. Couldn't even see the ground.
Five minutes later, no ground. I'm not convinced the character's even falling yet, but there's no point of reference to know. Ten. Twenty. No ground.
We left it going, walked to the gas station, went and hung out at the park, and finally came back. Still in the air, but by some miracle of timing, maybe thirty seconds after we settled back in, the character hit the ground.
Falcon narrating a list about diving from high places is just golden
There’s no jumping to the conclusion that Gameranx puts out the best content. I’ll see myself out
When they're not stealing it, anyway.
lol "as long as it's into water, you're fine" *continues to absolutely not fall into water
This was surprisingly entertaining, thank you so much! Great examples and great cut and comment. Also really interesting how different games handle landing after a long fall. I loved the ones with the correct pose, especially Tomb Raider as it did that instead of the iconic swan dive - making more sense while also still being cool.
Thanks for the Saturday doubles, as always. I hope y'all aren't overworking yourselves!
Yeah 2 16 minute videos in a day seems like such a big workload lol.
@@TheCosta5000You've never edited a video, i suppose. Neither have you researched a topic which also needs the very specific footages from 20 games.
@@skinny_gameryou've never done straight 12s of manual labor and it shows lol
@@TheCosta5000 A single 16 minute video can take many hours to complete, let alone 2.. that's easily an all day workload..
The "you've got protagonist powers so if it's into water you're fine!" followed by hitting the floor below has me wheezing 😂😂😂
Hearing the praises of realistic and correct behaviour to break the water surface in Hogwards gave me a good chuckle when you then start swimming in full plate armour like it's made of foam
Batman getting hit by the car at the end was great
👍🏼
I have a real fear of heights, so when I take jumps like these,in video games, I get chills! 😅
I still remember the feeling playing Prototype gave me when running up a skyscraper and jumping down even though I don't have "the fear"
Same bro! Like those dark souls Elden ring jumps from platform to platform. Every orifice clenches
Hey man, your not the only one, I hate being on tall buildings.
I get anxiety climbing in games sometimes; Horizon/Assassin's games climb A LOT, and occasionally your character will throw themselves off something high
The Saboteur must be the most underrated/unknown gem ever
Great video, thanks Falcon! An honorable mention should go to Farcry Primal, where you get to jump off the Pardaku Lookout, great view over the map, totally optional, nice falling effect and you get a trophy for your trouble :)
when that car knocked batman at 11:20
Man i lost it LOL
The video titles are always so random and unique.
LOVE IT!
I feel like more open world games need aerial locomotion, especially in style of Just Cause 3 and Arkham Knight. Base jumping in San Andreas and flying across NY in Prototype was fun, but damn how cool it felt to fly across fictional Italy or whatever it was in Just Cause 3. It definetly deserved its spot on the list
3:30 What's most impressive is the character being able to swim wearing a suit of armor.
2 videos in 1 day? You guys are the best😁🤟
Great video as always. Suggestion: Non-racing games that let us go FAST!!! Or at least felt like we were going fast.
Best list I've seen in years! Well done :)
Oh shit ! THIS IS MY JAM GAMERANX !!! I LOVE THE DROP FEELING. Gets ya every time man lol
"Crackdown" that's a wonderful blast to the past, I loved that game back in the day.
I like jumping off Fallout 4's Prydwen exterior decks instead of taking a vertibird or even fast traveling to the airport next to it.
Red Dead 2 popping up midway through the list was a good reminder of how amazing that game looked and still looks.
The sheer amount of times i tried to make it to too the body or water and failed until eventually making it and getting the achievement in Saboteur from jumping off the Eiffel and surviving! Man what a game that was
I'm glad to see "Crackdown" on the list. That game gave me vertigo. You next list has to have the jump from the tower into the underground toilet bowl in "Crackdown 2"!
Don't think that's a good video to watch before going to sleep, but here we go!
That starfield Jump is unironically funny lol
Oh yeah, I'm very happy you guys put crackdown as number one! Played it so long ago with my best friend at the time, doing like, Ethernet cord linked tvs or something(can't remember) But crack down 2 and 3 have been some of the most fun I've had out of games! Fun video:):)
LA looks the same as it does now in horizon , pretty spot on
Gameranx takes me out of my depression and anxiety as long as they have Jake or the Eagle.please never stop posting
Sir… he’s FALCON
Pearly gates: "so what happened, Spidey?"
Sipdey: "well, I was trying to solve my rubix cube in a fun new challenge..."
I knew I loved this channel. Crackdown at #1 is perfect
I would like to nominate the fall at the beginning of Paradise Killer. Awesomely done.
3:27 Swimming with heavy armor. Ain't that a joy :D
Been watching gameranx for a while and i find my self watching his videos for hours love the content
Thank to LTT Luke for the shoutout, had never heard of this channel before!
A VR game called Resist does falling so well. It’s an average game, but jumping around the city once your jump is levelled up (think giant Crackdown jumps, but in first person), and swinging around like Spider-Man is really satisfying. The central building in the city is the tallest, and jumping from that while looking down can definitely get your tummy turning.
I always get a weird feeling when I fall from heights in games. So annoying 😂😅
I demand a part 2 immediately having Falcon jump off the tallest build in Witcher 3 and Elden Ring!
Just Cause was always Fun. Also side note, Apex actually made me feel like I was falling in real life, kinda Erie
Lol. I love seeing these if only to compare if I found the actual highest point in a game. Also, the final cut in the Batman segment where he gets hit by a car is brilliant. Lol.
yo i was trippppping thinking i travelled back in time... very happy to learn it was just two gameranx videos in one day.
I like that y’all are trying new types of videos it’s really fun 😂
Yall never lack content,lovely
I was starting to get disappointed towards the end of this list, thinking that Crackdown was going to be snubbed. Happy to see it take the number one spot as that was such a crazy jump the first time I did it. When I'm immersed in a game, the long falls actually give me that butterflies in the stomach feeling for a brief moment haha. Great video
I was thinking of the Agency tower the whole way through this video! It was the first ever video game experience to give me a sense of vertigo.
That car hit Batman way harder than the fall from a 200 meter high building.... Also,i've jumped from this building in Fallout 4 in full power armor. Not a scratch.
I had just watched the 1st part,😅
What a great day
Welcome back Gameranx.
The fact that we complain about games (some complaining is warranted I agree) is insane to me. I can't believe how lucky we are to explore these vast open worlds to our hearts delight. Great video guys, cheers.!
I remember being amazed in the mario 2 opening free fall. Just something magical about it in games.
Back in 2006 dynasty warriors 6 jumping down from mt ding jun was fun 😊
Excellent number 1! Love that game!
batman getting decked by that car was amazing
I remember feeling so good jumping off tall buildings in prototype 1&2 to cause massive cracks on the asphalt
I enjoyed going up the tallest building in Second Son then jumping off it only to pull a superhero landing 😅
I always get that feeling in my legs whenever anything deals with heights, even in video games
Yet ironically or maybe subconsciously to face my fears
I really wanna go skydiving
Same, and I realised my real issue was UNSECURED heights
On a roller coaster? No problem!!
Near a cliff? Nope! Because I might fall down and somehow slide 50 feet across the ground and then go over the edge 🤣🤣🤣
@@whocares9033that’s pretty natural
Thank you guys for making this:):):)
that is it that is the video we've all been waiting for
you guys and mma on point must have the same writer, the only 2 top ten channels that manage to ALWAYS make original lists
Link falling and rezing reminds me of 8-Bit Theater. Red Mage did something similar to escape jumping out of a crashing -airship- deathtrap, but with a well-aimed potion throw.
I was really hoping to see Crackdown's tower on here! Yes!
Surprisingly my most memorable falling moment was Borderlands 2. Being prompted to jump by a friend, and then them having enough time to say “I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU ACTUALLY DID IT” while you fall. It was such a fun moment. 😅
Handsome Jack wasn‘t your friend :D
@@zock5766 I think he may be talking about Brick here.
I remember back in the day some of the jumps in Jedi Knight DF2 used to make my stomach turn 😅.
3:02 is the best piece of writing I've seen for this Channel in years!!!!!! 😆
Tales of Arise had a pretty fun jump off a waterfall into some water below. Funniest part is that your party members will actually scream on the way down and then start yelling at a party member for doing the jump to begin with.
I think there IS a way to get from the highest sky island in Tears of the Kingdom to the ground in the depths without even wasting a fairy 🤔 If you have the glide suit, you can dive off the bottom left point of the island above Lookout Landing, glide over to Mount Daphnes Well, and with a bit of precession diving, plunge through the well into the pool in the depths. That's about 3645 vertical units (not sure how big that is in meters, there's still debate over how much each map unit actually is). That said, if you want the highest dive, go to the southernmost sky island in North Gerudo Sky Archipelago, there's a float block you can take up to the top of the sky box. If you then dive from there (which should be a height of nearly 3200 vertical units) to Gerudo Summit Chasm, and then aim to land slap bang in the middle of Gerudo Canyon Mine, you'll have fallen about 4330 vertical units. That's further than if you tried to do the same dive into Hyrule Castle Chasm (which only goes down to -0999 versus Gerudo Canyon's -1130).
i like the dying light bridge, its a fun jump from the top to the water below, or even the bridge 🤣
SO happy to see Crackdown at #1. By number three I was giving up hope.
Also, Mirror's Edge had a great middle building.
Immortals Fenyx Rising actually have a LOT of high places to jump through, and if you're into scenic exploration the better. The highest one is on the last chapter (peaked mountain), and if you jump or glide around, you'd be getting a slow, progressive change of season or theme while you're at it falling down~
Love Shadow of the Tomb Raider and never knew that you could jump off the Golden Gate in Watch Dogs 2
Batman getting hit by that car was hilarious
Respect for the saboteur shoutout, great game that I completely forgot about
Seriously started laughing my butt off with that Batman getting hit by the car scene.
That fall shown in the Zelda clip reminds me of falling in Gravity Rush, particularly during the boss battle in the first game against Raven.
Fun fact: You don't need the boots to survive the jump off Mass Fusion in FO4. Aim your jump to land in the settlement of Goodneighbor, and you'll enter the town's interior cell before you hit, ending the fall animation and teleporting you safely to terra firma.
The fall in Cyberpunk is equivalent to when Frank pushed Ryan McPoyle off the roof of Paddy's pub.
In Spiderman 2, although the One Freedom Tower is the tallest point in the game, we get an even higher one temporarily in the game. In the finale, when the whole city is covered with Venom vines, there's a huge outgrowth above the Avengers Tower which slopes up. At the end of that is the technically the highest point in the game. From there you can glide across to May's house to start the final mission without using any power ups. Just one long glide. It was amazing
I was gonna finish this video but then I remembered I got places to go, gotta follow my Rainbow!
Man the ragdoll splats are always satisfying
Black Mountains in Xenoblade 3 Future Redeemed. Quite the vertical map and way longer of a jump than the Mechonis' fingertip, though you didnt even show the fingertip jump here. Another big jump, probably the biggest jump, in base game XB3 is from the late game snowy area of Captocorn Peak, that one little area where you can see collectables mid-air, leading you toward a body of water way down in an early map region of the game. Its one of the few areas of the game where you see collectables hanging out mid-air, so they deliberately placed it there to let you know you can jump from there and eventually have a safe landing.
The Saboteur was one of the best and underrated games ever... I loved it.
Destroy All Humans 2 Takeshima Tower. Gotta have max jet pack upgrades so you can A) get on to the top antenna and B) slam the ground with a shockwave for that epic landing.
Rollin around at the speeed of sound 🎶
Another great free fall opportunity in Fallout 4 is jumping off of the Prydwen. And what a view!
Oh man... the best moment in this entire video is when Batman lands clean on the street below like a total badass only to get plowed over by the oncoming traffic afterwards.
It amazes me how many people still seem to think that you can’t jump off a building without a parachute in GTA V. And the game has been out for ten years.
Already peeled my eyes today 👍🏼
YOU'RE BREATHTAKING !
In Cyberpunk, the best building to jump off is the one where you talk to Kerry after the Us Cracks party. It's almost straight down, and no Super-hero landing can save you.
