  • Saxophonist-inventor Dániel Váczi has been working with designer Tóbiás Terebessy since 2016 on the development of woodwind instruments capable of continuous pitch (glissando). The first model is the glissotar (glissonic tarogato) that is a hybrid tarogato-soprano saxophone.
More than 75 new solo works were submitted from 27 countries for our call for scores, representing a broad variety of possibilities of the new instrument. 33 of the solo glissotar pieces were recorded in the framework of the project of the Sonus Foundation for the Support of New Music and Contemporary Performing Arts, entitled „The past and future of Tarogato”, supported by the Hungaricum Committee and Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture.
