the greatest gag would be right as Pat is going up to give his HOF speech, Troy Polomalu gets up and stands on the edge of the stage
Dude, I would pay any amount to see that. 😂
Don’t you mean Troy Pomalulu (or however he pronounced it)?!
I died laughing when he told that story!😂
That would be legendary
Troy Pallamaloo 😂
If I had the chance to draft my fantasy team, he would be my punter
he'd be my qb
@@DeeTDhe'd kill it at running back as well
Shane lechler the goat
He missed a 20 and 30yd fg in the loss to a winless Pitt (divisionally) that knocked them out of the BCS championship game the last game of the season when he played at WVU who were ranked #2. 2 chip shot fgs that puts them in the Championship game had he not missed. He was also like 14 out of 20 and just avg about 40yds punting. Not exactly a guy who'd be high on the radar and why he went 222 in the 7th but he ended up having a decent 8yr career as kicker/punter in the NFL nonetheless but lets not get carried away he was mediocre at best eventhough he ended up with 3 or 4 great highlights.
@@isjjcjw that's my fullback
Shame he never got that chance though. You know the one. C-Gap nightmares about Troy haunt him to this day.
Palamalu screwed it all up lol
PO LLAMA LOU
Shame who never got what chance? I am so confused rn...
@@benjaminmorris4962 A fake field goal was called. McAfee was supposed to take the snap and run around the left, for a sure touchdown, while the entire defense is trying to block the field goal they think is coming. But when they lined up, Troy Polamalu, a defensive back who would normally line up somewhere in the middle to try to block the kick, lined up in the C gap (outside the left tackle ) right where he'd be in position to stop McAffe. So Pat was robbed of his chance to score the only touchdown of his career. They kicked the field goal instead.
@@blindleader42 robbed is a strong choice of word 😂
The kickoff recovery takes some balls. He would have been wasted by most other teams just for the audacity.
He was expecting to aswell. Look how much he flinches and braces himself when he grabs the ball 😂😂 that man was preparing to lose his kidneys
He made that call because there nobody there fake kickoff.
@@krisk3988 he actually says exactly this. He fully expected to get wrecked and was shocked he didn't.
For a few years you would see just as many McAfee jerseys at Lucas Oil as you would Luck jerseys. Dude was and is a huge personality.
Oh believe me, as a colts fan I NEVER forgot about his leg, *BOOMSTICK*
I remember listening to Bob & Tom talking to him on the radio and he's just such a character.
He’s got that DAWG in him
Harrrrr
For real.
That you Brody? 😂😂
WHAAAT
If you know, you know.
Recovering your own onside kick is crazy
It is seriously the craziest. The hit is impressive, his hang time was impressive, but recovering your own kick the way he did it is taking ownership of the moment the way no one else can.
We had a QB in HS that was so fast he could throw a pass, run out of the pocket on his own and catch it in mid stride against a full defense in practice. Too bad that sort of thing isn’t legal in a game.
That kid ended up playing center field for Pitt on their baseball team.
People forget, or maybe just like his Internet personality more, but he was the best punter in the NFL for years.
Ever*
Pat McAfee literally made the NFL change the rules so you couldn't recover your own onside kick lol
Pretty sure you still can just now opposing teams have a guy in that middle area
Jaguars just did it against the Chiefs 😅
Yea that’s not a rule.
@@cortlandcurgus2458 After Mcafee, the NFL changed the way opposing teams can line up for kickoffs. before you could have over half you team behind the 30 or 40 (I forget) but now you can't. Formation rule..
@@joshbang1932 they still didn’t make a rule that said you can’t recover your own kick, which is what the OP said and has hundreds of likes on even though that didn’t actually happen
He’s changing sports media right before our eyes, in 20 years every sports show will be like pats, espn is already going that direction
ESPN needed to make some changes. It's like taking a time machine back 25 years. Hosts, music, everything.
Agreed. Funny how ESPN first tried canceling him, then hired him for their Saturday morning college football show. 🤔
its more like 250 programs instead of 2 major ones. every former athlete will start their podcast or show.
@@randyneuman3122
He’s not great behind a desk..
Humans are weird when it comes to the media we consume, we either want it in 7 second bites, or 3 to 4 hour shows. Little in between.
that self onside kick was nuts.
Off course the NFL literally made it illegal to hit kickers, but they could hit other players.
Recovering his own kick-off. Genius. Precursor to the success he is now.
Love Pat, but that hit on the kickoff is so overrated. McAfee is literally bigger than Holiday, who's 5'5" 160 soak 'n wet. Not only that but he's sprinting down the sidelines, not head up, which gives McAfee a momentum advantage.
McAfee... Yeah, can't really support him. I saw a clip of his show where he was like "Drew Brees, how can you be against kneeling?!" and even went into how he and the Colts, when in the UK, knelt for the US anthem but stood for the UK anthem, proving it was never about what they said it was about, it was always about disrespecting the US flag and anthem.
I remember him at WVU and when he got a field goal they played a SpongeBob clip of him saying "Good one Patrick"
I remember him missing 3 field goals that lost us the pitt game and kept us out of the natl championship.
@@trykin7293he missed two* in the first quarter while your offense scored 7 points as a 28 point favorite lmao
Ladies and gentlemen, he was not a kicker. He was a football player
No...he was a punter...he made a tackle or 2..big deal...a punter...no more...no less..
And you're giving props to a punter because he had to do his job. You know there's like 100 tackles in every football game made by 30 different guys?
HOF !!! right there - Let's Go !!!
“Owned the NFL”.. let’s not get crazy here
That's my kicker...✊🏾💯 #COLTSNATION
******Punter? Vinat? (I forgot how to spell his name)was always the kicker
NOW he is OWNED BY DISNEY AND JIMMY KIMMEL
Let’s just remember for a moment that Mcafee is 6’1” 230lbs and Trindon Holladay was 5’5” 170lbs.
I was thinking the same exact thing that hit is so over rated… it doesn’t take that much power to level a guy Trindon Holladays size especially when you’re 8 inches taller and 60 pounds heavier it’s like a Ford F-150 hitting a Honda Prius
PLUS...the returner was up against the OB line and had nowhere to go to get away from it. Such an overrated hit
Anyone who has watched football over the last 10 years would know he's a beast. Not only on the field but off the field as well.
"Targeting, kicking team #1. 15 yards from the end of the play. #1 has been disqualified for the remainder of the game. First down, Denver." - Todays NFL
OMG He knocked a 5'6 kick returner out of bounds. That's like pushing a infant down the stairs. Enough already Pat.
Stop it. Pat McAfee only had personality. McAfee was not a stud. Anytime a player came running at him with the ball he would act like he got a hand on the guy or just run away from the play. Only 1 time did McAfee ever tackle a player running back a punt in his NFL career. That's no stud.
Most people don't know McAfee played football...dude that's literally why he's famous and has a podcast now. You gonna tell us Joe Rogan was a stand up comic next?
Apparently he was the host of fear factor
@@blueriversrapper I had no idea 💡
T. Holiday was basically a glorified midget so it’s not terribly impressive that McAfee could take him out.
You should check him out in the wrestling ring! He is pretty good!
Yeah but Holliday is like 5 foot tall and may weigh 100 pounds, a strong wind would have sent him flying out of bounds.
Trindon Holliday was five feet one hundred lbs. its nothing incredible hitting him while he runs a big kick return on the kick YOU sent.
It's not hard to knock a 3'6 smurf out of bounds...he's got him in height & weight so he should do that.
Trindon Holliday was only 5'5" that's why he went flying.
Don’t matter, Pat got the tackle
I miss his show from a few years ago. Now it's just yes men tonguing his nuts while Hawk smokes cigars. All the small RUclipsr Yes Men are just as bad. Constantly recycling whatever takes he makes on his show.
He would be a heck of a lot more famous if Polamalu didn’t line up in the C-Gap
Pat Mcafee would be even better if he wiped his ass with that ESPN contract.
With today's weak ass rules that hit would be flagged for targeting helmet to helmet.
Holiday was 155lbs stud no... just a kicker
He can't make it through a day without some type of virtue signal
Look up David Akers
Helmet to helmet lol didn’t even try to tackle him just used his helmet as a bartering ram
Proud to say he came from my team the WVU Mountaineers!!! #letsgooMcafee and #LetsGOOOmountaineers
Let's goo!
I remember after one of his hits on a returner he was drug tested the next day 🤣😂🤣😂
except Troy Polamalu
He lined up in the C gap🤣
Imagine how he would be perceived if he was blk
Not gonna lie that onside kick he recovered was pretty nasty
Yeah forgot to show the highlight where Antonio Brown shakes him out of the shoes
McAfee had the 3rd most tackle of any kicker ever with 23.
Holiday was like 110lbs let’s not forget
Okay but he's still a professional football player and Pat McAfee laid the boom on him
Look up what Antonio brown did to him.
Wow, he laid out Holiday who is always going to be the tiniest guy on the field.
Pat said for every lineman that retires one way or another there are 3000 linemen ready to take his place. That pretty much tells you the chances of someone making it into the NFL.
Punter? It's rare to see a punter recover his own onside kick off a tee... also rare to see a punt returner field a punt 6 yards deep in the end zone and go to the 46 yard line for a net of about a 20 yard kick. Nice hit tho
He’s so loud and annoying…I can’t stand to watch Gameday any longer. I know I’m in the minority, but it’s just how I feel.
REALLY???? BADASS as a punter???? Can pull up a hundred plays of him "NON" studding it up......
I love pat more than any other football player I’ve seen he is EXTREMELY CHILL and no bs think about it the colts has done everything for him BUT HE WILL STILL TALK SHIT ABOUT THEM WHEN THEY DO SOME CRAZY ISH OR SUCK
The tackle was ok. Pat was half helicoptered himself. Holiday is only 5'5" 169lbs. Mcafee is 6'1" 231lbs.
Probably the GOAT. WVU alumni 💪🏻
His story’s from his days in the NFL are legendary. He lied his ass off to get on the team, then proceeded to tell Adam V. he’s never held for a punter AFTER inking his contract LMFAO!! Stone Cold Hustler Babyyyyyyyyy!!!!!
Not any one in the internet especially Gen Z dont know much about Pat Prime NFL days...❤❤
One of the best Punters along with Legend like Hekker, Lechler, Ray Guy, Baugh and Mcafee is there with those Legends..
He is my all time favourite Punter of all time..
Oh, hell yes. I remember McAfee playing when i was a little younger, he was a baller for real. And for anyone to say that about a PUNTER, you know he was good. 100% he should be a Hall of Famer
The coolest thing I have ever seen a kicker do was when Adley rutschman was the oregon state kicker and he blew up christian McCaffrey. It was crazy, and now he is the starting catcher for the orioles. Could have gone to the nfl.
Probably a financial decision. An opportunity to make much more as a baseball player than a kicker
@@JB-423 He kept playing both until senior year when he was the best player in college baseball, he was a good kicker but not the best. He ended up getting drafted 1st and almost won rookie of the year.
@@elijahdavenport1759 just saying that if I had the choice between being an NFL kicker or baseball player, I'd definitely choose to play baseball. More lucrative contracts and 100% guaranteed
Reason number 56789 why cris collinsworth sucks as a commentator "Brad McAfee" 😂
He made punting fun, which was previously thought to be impossible.
He's doing things that any guy on the bench at an AFL team would do every fukn week.... WITH NO PADS!!!
Had a dream he was kicking off to me last night dude couldn't remember till this video popped up
What a dawg
Anybody who knows football knows he was a stud...... If you're gonna have a take on some try a little harder next time...... You're on the right track but don't say something dumb like this.....
MOUNTAINEER'S BABY he might hold wvu record im not sure Todd saurburn could have it but he was the man the 4 yrs we had him
Dude is pretty cool, I can't lie
That's Blue Jean, flapjack, cheeseburger Bruce's voice ....lol
Can’t stand this dude !!!!
Putting him on College Game Day has really made that program suck !!!!!!
Awesome onside kick
Gtfoh. He clobbered a 5 8 170lb guy. He might make top 10 most fun punters. Stop listening to CC
Still waiting to see where he owned anything
I finally found his jersey online! I bought his college and NFL jersey! It took me 3 years of searching.
And now Disney owns him
Pat MacAfee is the reason Andrew Luck Retired, the reason why colts moved on from Payton Manning. And why frank Reich was let go.
Pat probably could've been on special teams he's pretty athletic. I still dont know why he wasn't a kicker/punter instead of just a punter.
Nothing but respect for a tough kicker and as a lifelong lions fan there was no tougher kicker than Jason Hanson! Lol the sad part is he was one of the few lions you were proud of after Barry left and up until we got Stafford and Calvin Johnson we wasted all of our drafts on quarterbacks that we couldn't protect because we never drafted good line men so college quarterbacks going to the draft had their fingers crossed they didn't get picked by the lions knowing their career just went down the toilet considering there's no talent there and worst of all knowing their O line would be lucky to give them 2 seconds in the pocket vs a patriots O line that gave Brady 4 to 6 seconds in the pocket every play. Stafford earned that superbowl in Detroit because he took a he'll of a beating trying to restore the roar just like Barry. # Jason Hanson toughest kicker ever.
Can't watch his show. HE SCREAMS EVERYTHING FOR NO REASON.
Owned the NFL? Hahaha I think ypoure in love with Pat, arent you? Too many dumb RUclips titles out there.
He's becoming way to fake lately. And with the gambling ish. Used to love watching. Now I could not watch a week and not realize
I know my boy pat's a beast but are kicker ant no slouch either IDK behind a 4to5 streak he kicked baktoback 60yards baktoback #CBFL..#SB2023..
He was both the punter and the Kicker for the Colts? I thought all NFL teams used different people for those two positions. At what point did this occur that he could do a fake punt AND recover his own onside kick?
Dude had it going on! Got'em with the BOOMSTICK many a time 💯
Go horseshoe! I’m glad he stuck around Indy and made it his home. I wish he didn’t worry so much about hurting feelings or giving us honest opinion 100% of the time, but I get this is the time we live in now.
What year was that
Flag helmet hit
Amazing the Raiders punter Marquette King got kicked out the league for being the same way
I didn't even realize who he was until I saw him in the Colts uniform. he was one of those players that you always root for even if you're not a Colts fan. just an all-around good football player.
I'm a huge Brady fan, I disliked the colts, but absolutely loved Pat when he played.
Everybody that watches football and pat McAfee knows this, he literally broke down most of these plays second by second.
Helmet to helmet
I like Pat Macafee as a former player and Pro Wrestler more than hearing his annoying high energy cackle on talk radio. When I hear him, I feel instant relief turning the channel to normal speaking humans! Just like with James Cordon
U lied when u said a lot of people don't know. A lot of people do know. And this is the NFL video of his highlights, u just added what u said at the beginning and that's it. Someone is stealing content smh.
What do you mean a lot of people don’t know what kind of stud he is? Everyone knows. If they didn’t know before they know now because they talk about it a lot. You ain’t gotta lie to make a video and try to go viral breh.
Oddly enough, I don’t see Troy Polamalu in any of these highlights😂😂
