    Just got into No Man's sky. I like the game. I did many things before getting to the station. I knew to spend a while on the first plannet and overstocked my shit and person with items and resources. usually hate to cheat a little by looking up these types of vids but glad i did this time.

    Flying around in my gold plated S-class with a billion units in my hip pocket, I recall when I first started… wondering around a planet clueless, dropping dead, and trying to get the hang of it. Videos like this were so helpful thank you for taking the time. For those that avoid cheats and dup’s, getting set up to be able to explore worry free can be daunting. Really great community. Looking forward to Echos!

    I picked this up about 3 weeks ago and for half price. I have been playing it on my PSVR2 and so far I really love the game. I won’t lie ..the learning curve is steep. It’s been 3 weeks playing a little bit here and there and I’m finally getting use to all the controls and the flying is definitely getting easier . I’m very impressed with this game and it’s not only beautiful it’s also a huge game with hundreds of hours of things to do and the developers are constantly updating this game. I absolutely love this game so far and it’s one of my favorite PSVR2 games so far.

    Definitely remember to mine that carbon. Easy to run out of charge on your mining beam when you are focused on cobalt and ferrite for batteries. Keep enough carbon on hand to recharge your mining beam before going back to mine more cobalt.

      I just started playing it a few days ago. Never heard of the game before until all the talk about Starfield and saw someone compare that to this game so I gave it a try. This game I guess started off really rocky but the devs stayed at it and created a fantastic game today. I'm still in the wandering phase trying to figure out what to do next. A few days ago, I did die in space from some pirates and was transported back to a star base with a barebones ship. Lost everything and panicked but I just reloaded a previous checkpoint and was back in business. Great game.

    The best tip i can give as a new player that is learning things the hard way, dont try to throw yourself at a task that is too daunting, be able to take a step back and go "this isnt worth the time comitment right now ill come back later when i can afford to do this" for example, spending 30 minutes trying to set up an automated mine base but like starting with almost none of the resouces you need. You gotta be able to stop and do something else when something isnt worth your time otherwise youll get done and realise you just wasted over an hour and died 7 times while trying to build a mine base that in the end only makes a few hundred ferrite an hour bc you couldnt afford to build more than the bare minimum for the base and you have now wasted an hour and hundreds of resources on something that helps you not at all, it could he very demoralizing 🙂... 😭 30 hours of gameplay later i now see how painfully unnecessary it was for me to suffer that process and that if i had just flown around for an hour collecting stuff id have gotten WAY more done. So yeah dont be scared to admit that something isnt worth your time, just do whatever you enjoy and go where the solar winds take you

    Hey there can I ask you to do a short tutorial or maybe a quick guide in this comment section.
    I get very overwhelmed with "Base Terminus" or "Teleportation Terminals" basically the bas teleporters.
    The list goes:
    All: All what?
    Your Bases: Self explanatory
    Space Stations: I assume the last 69(?)
    Other Bases: What other bases? Because when I select it, it just shows the name of my base then below it their user name(?) Is it other bases in the solar system? Other bases I've visited/seen by? Or both those reasons?
    Group: Self Explanatory.
    -
    Then we have the Interstellar Teleporter at the Anomaly with 2 other options.
    Space Anomaly: Is this just showing me the bases of the people that are inside the Anomaly with me at that present moment?
    Featured bases: What are featured bases? How does one even get their base Featured at all? Is this a dev thing, chosen at random, do you need to apply?
    Thank you!

    • @DreadCaptainJames
      @DreadCaptainJames  9 месяцев назад

      No prob! You got most of this right, so you're on the right path. The whole thing is a set of filters, "all" showing everything available.
      Space stations should be a list of all the stations you've been to, and I'm unaware of the limit, if there is one.
      Other bases are other players bases, and it's mostly generated when you visit the anomaly and see other players, and the game holds that info in memory for a little bit.
      When accessing the teleporter in the anomaly, that list does change, and "other bases" becomes "Anomaly" , I believe. So, yes, that's showing you other players' bases that are with you on the anomaly. I've seen a much more extensive list when I've visited as well, so it might be a list of ALL players currently in the anomaly...
      Featured bases are indeed a dev thing, and I don't know how they choose bases, but the two that are featured there currently have been for a while...
      I think I got it, let me know if I missed something. I'm on mobile and it won't let me scroll up, so I can try again later 😂

    I am struggling to get nanites. Everyone says to go to the mission board but the mission rewards are not nanites. Just maps and stuff. Another method i've found is the random damaged pods usually found near buried technology fragments but those aren't guarantied and not sustainable. Can anyone please help?

    • @DreadCaptainJames
      @DreadCaptainJames  10 месяцев назад +1

      Quick way to get nanites is to fight the sentinels as they will drop salvage glass which usually has modules you can turn into the vendors for 480 each. Another way is go to a dissonant planet and farm inverted mirrors, they refine for 50 each so you can grab a stack of them and refine them up really quickly.

    • @Tom-xt7fs
      @Tom-xt7fs 9 месяцев назад

      Personally the best way to get nanites in big lumps, is to go through different planets and scan literally everything, do this for a few planets, then go to the anomaly and there is two people you can transfer two types of data to, when you land, they’re on the right hand side of the anomaly, Im only 14 hours through on this play through and for the last 5 hours my nanites have been ranging from 2k to 4k

    How do I get to this anomaly space station? The one I dock at looks different and I can't find the vendors that sell the industrial blueprints or multitool upgrades

    • @DreadCaptainJames
      @DreadCaptainJames  10 месяцев назад +1

      The anomaly can be summoned once you're in space. If you're on PC, hit x and scroll over to it and summon it. On console, down on the dpad and then move over to it. It'll look like a death star.

  • @markucla

    I just bought the game and started collecting. However I see no way to make ion batteries. I have no way to get that buried technology module. I can't make a Terrain Manipulator yet or I haven't figured it out. How do you get these items from the planet?

    • @DreadCaptainJames
      @DreadCaptainJames  9 месяцев назад +1

      Ion batteries are something you will automatically know how to make, and you'll need ferrite and cobalt (found in caves) to make them. Open your inventory and craft them once you have the mats. Terrain manipulator is one that will need to be installed directly into your multi tool, and you'll also need the mats for that but you should know how to build that right out of the gate as well. If you can't build it, check and make sure your multi tool doesn't already have it installed. If you're starting from a different point than a fresh save, there's a possibility you might have it already.

    since oxygen is a very common material i think that it is not worth the grind at the beginning
    just play the game and you are golden already

    • @DreadCaptainJames
      @DreadCaptainJames  11 месяцев назад +11

      Very common is a terrible way to look at that. Going hunting for oxygen and hoping to find some doesn't come close to having an unlimited supply, and if you don't realize the value of oxygen in NMS, you missed the point of this video.
      Dropping a comment that directly refutes an entire video that most people would agree is fact is a bad take. I checked your channel to see if you had put out anything tutorial-wise before I responded, and I found nothing. I would recommend that before you share advice that is detrimental at best, at least put out something yourself.

      @@DreadCaptainJames
      well i believe that the whole point of the game is exploring and ressource management
      and building an oxygen farm right at the start undermines the whole concept of the game
      also since this video is directed to newer players i believe that the first few minutes / hours of a game are detrimental for the player to decide if they want to continuing playing
      and spending the first 40 minutes of the game grinding just to have an unlimited supply of a ressource that can be literally found in rocks on the ground is not the best way to get people hooked
      i also don't think it is necessary to have a youtube tutorial channel to give an opinion
      i way not trying to spread hatred or make you angry i just think an oxygen farm is something that you can put on your list of things to do but dropping everything else just to get that early oxygen farm isn't a healthy way to play
      i enjoy your videos a lot and am looking forward to the next one i just wanted to give my opinion as well

      @@Yato_q You're right, I shouldn't have said what I did. Opinions are welcome no matter what, and I was harsh. I apologize for that. I do think we disagree on importance and ease at which a beginner could get oxygen, and that honestly makes for better discourse. I appreciate your comment, honestly. I will do better next time to have a more constructive response. o7

      I think the point of the video was not for average players, but those that want to min max everything right as they start, or as the title says, “best start guide” he never said that this is something that all players should do and he emphasizes the grind, but for players that just got the game and want to know exactly what can be done to get the most optimized start to the game, vs a “just explore and do what you want” approach.
