Not only is it broken, the "historical" paths for some countries make no sense and completely skip over several years. Looking at you, Brazil.

one of my other gripes is with the focuses "Washington Accords" and then "Potenji River Conference" which are back to back, but historically these events were well over half a year apart
those focuses also in my opinion just don't work properly either

Also it’s funny how countries with older focus trees(for example UK, which was one of most important countries in ww2) has no national spirits that buff (or debuff) their army, airforce and navy, while some south american nations, that were years behind in technology and military experience can gain national spirits that make the other majors’ equipment and divisions obsolete. For example Brazil, Argentina and Chile can get a spirit for their airforce that effectively makes them 30-40% better than allied fighters. Pair that with a maxed designer and AI’s shitty designs and you get a plane, that outperforms everything and can’t be shot down.

There definitely needs to be some type of rework imo. The only starting majors that have the army/navy/air spirits are Italy, the Soviet Union, and (recently) Germany. Italy and the Soviet Union I think are good examples of modest military spirit buffs for a major.

Yeah and important majors like France, UK and especially Japan are left with so little content and gameplay(Paradox is busier making expansions for irrelevant South American nations and countries like Norway, Denmark and Iceland, who had little to no participation in WW2. But the biggest problem IMO is the current state of The USA. How can states like Texas and California(twice the size of Germany) have the same amount of building slots as Königsberg. Also IRL USA produced like half of all WW2 military and civilian equipment, meanwhile they get outproduced by Germany in 1941-1942 and onwards. The next DLC definitely should address the problems regarding USA, Japan, China and the Pacific. Also a rework in doctrines, land and air combat mechanics would be nice.

I'm always amazed at the hell paradox games are stuck in, they manage to have the same feeling of being eternally broken as a MOBA because they keep making new content (dlc instead of new characters), but since it's not a competitive multiplayer game there's basically none of the pressure to fix anything, worst of both worlds

This is an exemple of gameplay quality over historical accuracy. Imagine doing nothing as historical Brazil until 1944

Until today espirito santo have 4.6 million population. The population of this state in 2022 was 3.8 million. They just copy pasted minas gerais but forgot to change the population to ca. 600k.

I find Trial of Allegiance so very disappointing from a Role-Play standpoint as well. Estado Novo Brazil was a period with a LOT of internal strife, political conspiracy, economical growth and larger-than-life characters. A well-made DLC, or Mod, could explore all that with actually interesting event-chains and decisions and actually meaningful choices, but no. In ToA, all that interesting history is flattened into barebones events and generic gameplay. It feels downright insulting when even basic details like the shape of Brazilian states are comically wrong and/or anachronistic.
